Oral Roberts University student Princeton Donald preparing for once-in-a-lifetime trip to Brazil to spread the Gospel

TULSA, Oklahoma — Princeton Donald has been enrolled at Oral Roberts University for a little more than a semester.

To his distinct credit, no one has to remind him to embrace the gratuities and benefits that college life customarily offers.

“I am convinced that you don’t have to wait until you are highly increased in age to make a difference,” Donald, 18, told Making Headline News this week. “I believe I can do it now.”

Since making the lofty transition from Tulsa’s Will Rogers College High School to Oral Roberts — an interdenominational, Christian-based, comprehensive liberal arts university that is comprised of approximately 4,000 students — Donald has been nothing short of impression, particularly as it pertains to becoming acclimated to the hustle and bustle as a college newcomer.

For starters, not only has this freshman International Business major found his niche as an aspiring singer, musician, and preacher, but he’s also devising ways to become resourceful in this ever-so-competitive business industry, a trend that could benefit him mightily by the time he completes his undergraduate studies.

Donald is among several ORU students who are planning to partake in a missions trip to Brazil in May, a once-in-a-lifetime journey that will greatly afford the grandson of a longtime Gospel preacher to put on his immeasurable spiritual gifts on display.

Widely known as “Prince,” Donald is the grandson of the late Bishop John Vincent, Jr., a prominent Tulsa-based pastor who died in May 2013.

During the missions trip, Donald emphasized, among other things, that his primary objective would be to migrate to the less progressive areas of South America to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ. In addition, he would seek to “educate the uneducated,” he said, thus bring a renewed sense of hope to what he describes as a depressed people.

“That is the reason I preach, I sing, I play, I love, and I desire to go to on this missions trip to Brazil,” said Donald, who was practically born in Tulsa’s historic Fellowship Church located at 570 North Denver Avenue — the church his grandfather founded — where he is still very much actively involved in a variety of ministries. “And I want to begin to make a difference now.”

As Donald prepares for this much-anticipated trip to the South of the Border, he’s hopeful family, friends and loved ones would be willing to aid him in clearing arguably the biggest hurdle as it pertains to joining his peers on this unique journey.

That is, he must raise $3,600, which is the total cost for the trip, and he has assembled a GoFundMe account, where donations can be made.

Surely, with God, all things are possible — a familiar, yet life-enhancing passage for which Donald has appropriately adopted during his quest to engage in an experience of a lifetime.

“I am sending letters, contacting people by phone, alerting people through social media, and through the (advertisement) of my GoFundMe account,” Donald said.

By and large, while mission trips of this magnitude doesn’t come around very often, for a youngster who’s already fulfilling his long-awaited vision of preaching the Gospel within the walls of his grandfather’s church, Donald acknowledged this journey undoubtedly is for a worthy cause.

“With my major pertaining to International Business, it will allow me to see the (world from a different) perspective, as well as (see) the needs of the people of (Brazil) so that I can properly do business…which I feel is only successful when the consumers’ needs are met,” Donald explained.

In the meantime, with the missions trip scheduled to take place in approximately four months, Donald realizes that while there is enough time to generate the funding for the trip, he still has no time to waste.

In a nutshell, he’s approaching this once-in-a-life-time journey much like his fervent approach to college life — head on.

“My biggest supporters are those who are unselfish and have a vision of unity,” Donald said. “The people that will really support me are those who want to see the world progress. Those who believe that just having plenty for themselves (won’t offer support). Most importantly, (my supporters would be) those who want to make an impact. Also, with my major being International Business and Ministry, I also am looking forward in obtaining my (doctorate degree) in Ministry to further the kingdom of God.”

In essence, he seems to already be in his element, something about which in all likelihood has prompted his grandfather to look down from the heavens and display his signature smile.
