NASHVILLE — While taking questions from the media over the weekend, Nashville-area businesswoman Patrycya King-Williams paused momentarily to recall the immeasurable, influential impact the woman who was widely known as “Big Momma” had on her life.
“I also would be remiss if I didn’t mention my Big Momma.” King-Williams told Making Headline News. “Before she passed, she always told me I could be or do anything I set my mind to if I worked hard enough and connected with the right people and, although I am an introvert by nature, coming out of a Fortune 500 Corporate America job, I learned quickly how to turn it off and on when necessary.”
It was due in large part to the massive, loving impact of Magnolia Davidson King, King-Williams’ beloved “Big Momma” who passed away in January 1998, that has benefited this progressive, resourceful woman of color mightily, particularly in this, the ever-so-competitive entrepreneurship industry.
Widely known as an accomplished Mid-South-area event planner, as well as a motivational speaker and social broker, King-Williams is the Founder and chief executive officer of PK Williams Enterprises, a Nashville-based mass communications-oriented venture whereby its primary mission is to serve as one of the most innovative and dedicated brand identity, event planning, and entertainment consultancy companies in the world.
An internationally-acclaimed company designed to utilize its vast network of industry professional relationships in order to elevate its clients to the next level, PK Williams Enterprises is widely known for its distinctly unique Marketing and Public Relations, Event Planning, Artist Development, and Event Consultancy, among other remarkably efficient services.

“My personal mission is to help others succeed and achieve goals that they once didn’t think was attainable,” said, King-Williams, 47, a native of Nashville, explaining in detail her primary purpose for what has become a flourishing venture.
By and large, the unyielding support of her family has been priceless, King-Williams acknowledged.
“My inspirations are my children and my husband,” said King-Williams, a devoted mother of three who will be celebrating 26 years of marriage on December 7. “Being a mother of three beautiful, smart and talented daughters pushes me every day to be great and to leave them a legacy they can be proud of.”
Of course, she’d be remiss also if she did not pay homage to her lifelong companion and college sweetheart by way of the historic Tennessee State University.
“(My husband) inspires me to keep moving, because he loves to travel and we get to see different parts of the world through our professional and personal travels together,” King-Williams said.
A business venture that, much to her delight, has garnered a massive international presence, King-Williams has been afforded golden opportunities to put her immeasurable entrepreneurship talents on display throughout virtually the entire southern region, most notably in Florida, Georgia, Arizona, Missouri, Arkansas, Texas, Maryland, Alabama, Alaska, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisiana, even as far as Hawaii.
From global standpoint, PK Williams Enterprises has made its presence felt in such establishments as Africa and United Kingdom.
A proud graduate of Middle Tennessee’s Whites Creek High School, King-Williams holds an English Degree from nearby Tennessee State.
Armed with an array experience in mass communications, King-Williams customarily executes what she describes as a “plethora” of services, largely because her venture is widely known as a boutique company, of sorts, courtesy of its marketing, public relations, event planning, and artist development and management.
“Most of all, I build relationships and create platforms for others,” said King-Williams, adding that her business caters to a vast variety from millennial to what she deems more seasoned individuals, primarily because of the types of events about which she hosts and participates.
Having been a fixture to the music and entertainment industry since January 2010, King-Williams’ itinerary for the upcoming new year is already full of promise.
Lots of it, that is.
Amongst the reasons is she emphasized that plans are in the works to establish college preparatory platform for young girls called “Purpose Over Popularity.”
In addition, King-Williams emphasized that several other events are on the horizon, most notably her annual Power Moves Awards Gala, a black tie affair event, during which her organization will honor those whom she describes as “ordinary people doing extraordinary things in our community.”
“We honor them by giving awards to people in our community for their philanthropic and service,” King-Williams explained. “We awarded 18 people in Arts And Entertainment, Education, Entrepreneurship, Service And Philanthropy, Community Advocacy and Greeks ‘Divine 9.’”
Generally, what it all boils down to, particularly as it relates to her dwelling and flourishing in her element, is her keen ability to steadfastly inspire others daily because, as King-Williams tells it, “It is better to have purpose than it is to be popular.”
Credit “Big Momma” for greatly instilling within her the wherewithal and perseverance to impact countless lives.
One life at a time.
“I am the oldest of my mom’s three daughters and the oldest of my dad’s two (children),” King-Williams said. “I’m an overachiever and my only competition is myself. I have a big heart for helping others achieve their goals, and I love working with people whom others won’t give them a chance.
“Everyone has a purpose and are exceptional in their own right,” King-Williams continued. “I just try hard to be that person to open doors for others to walk through. My mentor has been a God send, and he pushes me daily to step out of my comfort zone and not to block my blessings. He stresses being focused, organized, and has really pushed me to stop wanting more for people and my clients than they want for themselves or are willing to work with me on to help them achieve.”
Eloquently said by the woman whom is widely deemed, “The Lady Behind The Vision.”
