FedEx Corporation Executives partake in recent tour of UNICOR’s Operations in Forrest City, Arkansas

SEASON OF THE REBIRTH

FRESH START — In July 2019, Dr. Belay Reddick urged FedEx Corp. Executive Vice President and CFO Alan B. Graf, Jr. in a letter to visit the UNICOR inmates because they were more likely to find and keep meaningful employment, and hiring them can pay big dividends for his company.

FORREST CITY, Arkansas — If re-entry involvement could be attributed to personal rehabilitation, Dr. Belay Reddick could well be the banner bearer.

Dr. Reddick, 51, is an accomplished author and is a current incarcerated.
Interestingly, Reddick garnered praise for bringing FedEx Corporation executives to UNICOR, a vital correctional program within the Federal Bureau of Prisons, for a tour of its furniture factory and to speak with the offenders who participate in the UNICOR program about employability skills needed for the workforce in early February.
Attendees included Barb Wallander, Senior Vice President of Human Resources, Brandon Tolbert, Vice President of Human Resources, Rosemary Paden, Human Resources Advisor to Barb Wallander, Frank Olson, National Trainer, and Marlon Sanders, National Recruiter.

Dr. Reddick is the re-entry clerk for UNICOR in Forrest City, Arkansas, a company that customarily produces office furniture for the U.S. military. He is tasked with helping UNICOR inmates approaching release from custody get back on their feet. His goal is to ease the transition of inmates back into society, connecting them with jobs, housing and other resources.

“Learning, teamwork, putting customers first, and strong communication skills are all important in having a successful career,” Wallander recently told a crowd of roughly 130 inmates. “If you put the hard work in now, it’ll pay off later.”

Wallander added that FedEx Corp. will hire an ex-felon, provided the individual can pass a drug test and his date of conviction was at least 10 years ago.

In 2016, Dr. Reddick received media attention for hosting 12 senior advisors from the Obama administration at the Atlanta federal prison to hear a debate of three inmates with lengthy custodial sentences challenge a team of three Morehouse College undergraduates.

Tolbert offered tips as well, mentioning that he recently hired an ex-felon. Tolbert told the group of men that he believes in second chances.

“Always take 100 percent responsibility. Think like an owner. Play offense. Leave a legacy,” Tolbert said.

After giving motivating and inspiring highlights of their careers, the FedEx Corp. team conducted highly effective mock job interviews. Interestingly, the team provided critical feedback to the UNICOR inmates regarding their resumes content, eye contact, posture, communication skills, personal appearance, and overall job interview performance.

The team then viewed a 10-minute PowerPoint presentation about UNICOR Forrest City’s state-of-the-art equipment, and the various training inmates receive in the program.

A native of Jacksonville, Dr. Reddick is a licensed minister, author, publisher and motivational speaker. A Paxon Senior High graduate, Dr. Reddick attended Florida Community College at Jacksonville, Hillsborough Community College, as well as the Goshen Biblical Institute & Theological Seminary and NationsUniversity.

In July 2019, Dr. Reddick urged FedEx Corp. Executive Vice President and CFO Alan B. Graf, Jr. in a letter to visit the UNICOR inmates because they were more likely to find and keep meaningful employment, and hiring them can pay big dividends for his company.

Three months later, FedEx Corp. contacted Operational Accountant Marilyn Phelix who retired last December about Dr. Reddick’s letter, and the opportunity to visit the inmates in 2020.

Dr. Reddick’s personal story is worthy of a Charles Dickens novel, according to sources with knowledge of his situation.

Prior to his conviction in 2005 for engaging in an illegal check passing scheme, Dr. Reddick was a homeless man, living in his car. He says that was an “idiotic thing to do.”

Consequently, he was sentenced to 20 years in prison, far from his family in Jacksonville, Florida.

He found himself in a gloomy place, surrounded by negativity and looking for a chance to help others who have taken wrong turns in life. It’s the kind of story prison staff members rarely see.

“I’m a proud, rehabilitated returning citizen,” Dr. Reddick said. “The things I’ve had to contend with have shaped me as a much better man and a much better person.”

In 2016, Dr. Reddick received media attention for hosting 12 senior advisors from the Obama administration at the Atlanta federal prison to hear a debate of three inmates with lengthy custodial sentences challenge a team of three Morehouse College undergraduates.

“We have so many barriers in place,” says Dr. Reddick of finding employment post-incarceration. “If I can change that, then my living won’t be in vain.”

To his credit, Dr. Reddick plans to bring other major U.S. companies to UNICOR such as Amazon and Walmart. He estimates these reentry events will help between 300 to 600 inmates a year. The men there, he added, will be able to take care of themselves and their families financially, helping to make communities safer.

“It’s an effective way to help reduce high recidivism rates. I want to bring these companies in to benefit inmates scheduled to be release from custody within 6 months. That’s good for the prison, and it’s an awesome collaboration effort. It really provides inmates with hope, and it’s why I’m doing it,” Dr. Reddick said.

“I just thank God for having the full support of UNICOR General Manager Dennis Merrion. This is something that the Federal Bureau of Prisons should be excited about, and it all started with my letter.”

Baltimore-area author Debrayta Salley relishing God’s amazing grace through her latest book

To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven. (Ecclesiastes 3:1 KJV)

GREAT IS THY FAITHFULNESS

AMAZING GRACE — A native of Baltimore, Debrayta Salley is the mastermind behind the spiritually-empowering book entitled, “Grace FULL Seasons Anthology: Stories of Triumph, Victory And God’s Faithfulness Through the Seasons of Life.”

Because of whom she is and because of where God is taking her, Debrayta Salley didn’t just write the vision down and make it plain on the figurative tablet of her heart.

More than anything, she has diligently taken the vision and run with it.
“God gave me a glimpse of the vision for an anthology in 2012,” Salley, during a recent interview with Making Headline News, said, recalling the memorable developments that contributed mightily to her latest authorship milestone.
Much to her delight, Salley’s awe-inspiring vision — or her God-mandated topic, per se — didn’t come full circle until sometime in 2018.

A MUST READ — A written work that is comprised of 100 pages in length, Salley’s “Grace FULL Seasons Anthology: Stories of Triumph, Victory And God’s Faithfulness Through the Seasons of Life” appropriately issues a pivotal remind to God’s people.

A book that is comprised of six brilliantly gifted authors, Salley’s Christian-based book is roughly a month removed from its much-anticipated release date, a feat that is a true testament of her immeasurable contributions to the Body of Christ.

“The main reason that I brought these ladies together for this writing project was to provide an outlet for them to tell their stories for their personal satisfaction and, most of all, for God’s glory,” said Salley, explaining what was the single, most underlying reason she chose to produce her latest book.

KINGDOM CONNECTED

That is, “In everything, there is a season,” said a spokesperson for Salley’s latest project at Amazon.com. “Whether your current place in life is indicative of the winter, spring, summer or fall seasons, never forget that God walks with us through them all.

“He will never leave you nor forsake you,” Salley writes, steadily reinforcing God’s splendor to His people through her newest book. “He will also extend to you a priceless gift: a measure of grace to sustain and strengthen you through it all.”

Salley’s “Grace FULL Seasons Anthology: Stories of Triumph, Victory And God’s Faithfulness Through the Seasons of Life” is her seventh book dating back to 2010, including four she composed in consecutive years from 2015 to 2018.

“Our decisions and connections must always be God-led, inspired and divinely aligned and never motivated by the quest for recognition or acceptance.” — Author Debrayta Salley

“After writing my memoir in 2012 (Back To The Scene Of The Crime: Breaking Unfruitful Patterns By Bringing Hidden Things To Light), I became aware of just how powerful it is to tell your story in your own words and on your own terms,” said Salley, an accomplished Biblical Life Coach, Inspirational Speaker, and Wellness Advocate. “Not only does it promote  a sense of healing, renewal, and freedom for the writer, but it becomes medicine for someone else that may be encountering a similar situation.”

A book that is comprised of six brilliantly gifted authors, Salley’s Christian-based book is roughly a month removed from its much-anticipated release date, a feat that is a true testament of her immeasurable contributions to the Body of Christ.

As for her latest written work, Salley began assembling her chapter sometime in 2018, then subsequently compiled a team of authors in July 2019, a trend that has given way to a rather intriguing work of art.

“This book is related to my God-given purpose, because it provides a safe space for women to step out of their comfort zones, out of fear, and any shame they may have been holding onto about certain seasons of their journeys,” Salley explained. “(I’m committed to) supporting them in embracing the uniqueness of their stories.”

Salley said other books are surely forthcoming, much sooner than later.

Salley’s “Grace FULL Seasons Anthology: Stories of Triumph, Victory And God’s Faithfulness Through the Seasons of Life” is her seventh book dating back to 2010, including four she composed in consecutive years from 2015 to 2018.

“I have a few book projects that God has downloaded in my spirit, but I haven’t begun to assemble them yet,” Salley said. “Stay tuned. I’m certain that there are many speaking engagements in my future. However, in this current season, my primary focus is on rebuilding my life mentally, physically, and spiritually…shoring up my foundation so-to-speak, so that it’s secure enough to withstand all that’s to come. I’m expecting great things.”

Amongst the biggest reasons, by all accounts, is that more than anything, she has diligently taken the vision and run with it.

With God, her Helper, steering the way.

GOD’S LEADING LADY

“This book is related to my God-given purpose, because it provides a safe space for women to step out of their comfort zones, out of fear, and any shame they may have been holding onto about certain seasons of their journeys,” Salley explained. “(I’m committed to) supporting them in embracing the uniqueness of their stories.”

Georgia author Dr. Estella Dior’s “You Were Destined To Survive” impacting a generation one life at a time

I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. (Romans 8:18 NIV)

SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST

A MUST READ — A book that was officially released in October 2019, Dr. Estella Dior’s “You Were Destined To Survive” depicts the lives of a number of women, many of whom have not only survived some of the most horrific traumas anyone can experience, but much to their delight, they were blessed to have overcome that through which they had endured.

While addressing the media Saturday morning, Dr. Estella Dior wasted little time issuing a rather direct message, coupled with a pivotal reminder to her fellow sistas.

So ya might wanna take heed.
“The single reason was to uplift and empower others (women) to know your past doesn’t determine your future,” Dior during an exclusive interview with Making Headline News, said, explaining vividly what fueled her fervent desire to become an empowerment author.
A Brunswick, Georgia-based author who’s had to press and navigate her way through a rash of obstacles — notably molestation, rape, teen pregnancy, and depression, among other turmoil — Dr. Dior deemed it essential to share of her spiritually-empowering testimonies with the recent release of her book entitled, “You Were Destined To Survive.”

According to a detailed introduction at Amazon.com, Dr. Dior’s book is appropriately described as a “compilation of stories,” many of which will take readers on a ride through the lives of 12 women who have gone to great lengths to share what this brilliant writer describes as their “darkest secrets,” or those “dark moments” that subsequently led them to truly walking and living in their light.

“One thing each of these women has in common is that they are true overcomers and they refuse to allow the toughest circumstances keep them down,” said an Amazon spokesperson for Dr. Dior’s “You Were Destined To Survive.’ “The only time you’ll find these women kneeling is to pray and give thanks to God for bringing them so far.”

A book that is comprised of 177 pages in lengths, Dr. Dior began composing “You Were Destined To Survive” sometime in January 2017 and needed somewhere in the neighborhood of a year and a half to complete a project that will be on display during her upcoming book signing April 4 at 6 p.m. EST at the newly-erected La Quinta by Wyndham Brunswick/Golden Isles, located at 100 Capital Square Drive in Brunswick.

When asked what the single is, most underlying reason she elected to write “You Were Destined To Survive,” Dr. Dior, a native of Miami, said: “In life, we all have struggles called survival moments. But that’s when God will reach way down to pull you from your valley experiences.”

Dr. Dior’s “You Were Destined To Survive” is her third published work to date.

In 2005, she made her authorship debut when she wrote “Everyday Grace, Everyday Miracles.” Consequently, she released “Diary Of A Street Princess” in 2013.

Now that she’s approximately six months removed from having witnessed the release of Book No. 3, chances are Dr. Dior will write and release other books as a strategic way to encourage and empower the masses, not to mention as an effective way to advance the kingdom mightily.

“This book is the sole purpose of God creating me, to empower, uplift and share my journey,” said Dr. Dior, adding that her memoir entitled, ‘I had To Die To Live Again’ is presently in the works. “The feedback has been amazing and (readers have told me) it’s helping and empowering and really inspiring them.”

Interestingly, a vital portion of Dr. Dior’s story includes having once been incarcerated with Alice Marie Johnson, whom actress Kim Kardashian reportedly helped garner clemency after she was sentenced to life in prison for a nonviolent drug offense in 1996.

“I also did time with Mint Pearl Thomas, and Tina, which are D. Thomas’ mother and grandmother,” Dr. Dior recalled. “To witness God move in these women’s lives, to be given life and two life sentences and to see day light. (This is why I want to) help express the stories I’m sharing, that even in our survival moments, (God’s) there.”

So ya might wanna take heed.

Prophetess Verdia Hayward’s Michigan-based Verdia Fashions attracting more of a national presence

She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands; She is like the merchants’ ships; she bringeth her food from afar; She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens; She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard. (Proverbs 31:13-16 KJV)

SUNDAY’S BEST

ADVANCING THE KINGDOM — Widely known as a woman after God’s own heart, Verdia Hayward is the owner and CEO of Verdia Fashions, her credible online store that has become a fixture for offering a variety of Sunday best attire, especially for people in the household of faith.

As far as the above Biblical passages go, Prophetess Verdia Hayward could be appropriately described as a devout woman of faith who works willingly with her hands.

In other words, she’s a godly woman who goes to great lengths to ensure that she fulfills her customer services goals and objectives, particularly as a thriving, progressive businesswoman.
Widely known as a woman after God’s own heart, Hayward is the owner and CEO of Verdia Fashions, her credible online store that has become a fixture for offering a variety of Sunday’s best attire, especially for people in the household of faith.
“It’s such a beautiful variety,” Hayward, during a recent interview with Making Headline News, said, providing a detailed introduction of her business venture.

A rapidly-growing endeavor that went into full operations in August 2019, Hayward’s Verdia Fashions customarily offers a wide range of church attire.

You name and her company has it, from its variety of new arrival suits and dresses, to its separate and casual wear, church hats and shoes, men’s fashion, men’s walking suits, men’s suits and hats, church and choir group suits, a wide selection of prom dresses, as well as Afrocentric fashions.

Interestingly, Verdia Fashions’ stylish and trendy clothing and accessories can be shipped anywhere in America and, given the immeasurable stride this online store has made since its inception, it’s safe to assume Hayward’s business’ best and brightest days are well ahead of it.

Based in Westland, Michigan, a Wayne County town that is roughly 16 miles West of downtown Detroit, Hayward boasts two-and-a-half decades of professional experiences in the ever-so-competitive world of fashion.

To her credit, she has gone to great lengths in such a brief timeframe to ensure that her business venture emerges a step above the rest.

“The difference is the variety and the uniqueness of the kinds of clothing we offer,” said Hayward, a gospel recording artist whose extended play will debut soon.

Generally, Verdia Fashion’s most dedicated customers are Pastors and First Ladies, she said, arguably one of the greatest factors for the growth of her business.

Since the startup of her business, church suits, hats, and her widely selection of men’s suits and shoes have become her hottest and most sought-after items.

“We cater to people nationwide and ship nationwide,” Hayward said. “We’re steadily expanding, but it could be better.”

Given the continuous buzz surrounding the movement, of sorts, that’s known as Verdia Fashion, chances are Hayward’s online store is well on its way to “better.”

Much sooner than later.

When asked what are three strategic goals for the remainder of 2020, Hayward was rather forthright and direct.

“I’d like to expand with a greater clientele, increase our annual revenue, and attract more of a national and international presence,” Hayward said.

Nashville media mogul Aaron Jordan Jr.’s new TV show to air in 25 counties, 1.9 million households

A man’s gift makes room for him, And brings him before great men(Proverbs 18:16 KJV)

SPANNING THE GLOBE

STANDING ON GOD’S PROMISES — A longtime Nashville-area media mogul, Aaron Jordan Jr. is the mastermind behind “Cafe Conversations With Mr. Know Your Worth,” his empowerment-oriented television show that is scheduled to debut in March on the globally-acclaimed  Christian Television Network (or CTN).

Aaron Jordan Jr.’s latest endeavor has been some four years in the making.

Much to his delight, it’s all about to come full circle.
A longtime Nashville-area media mogul, Jordan Jr. is the mastermind behind “Cafe Conversations With Mr. Know Your Worth,” his empowerment-oriented television show that is scheduled to debut in March on the globally-acclaimed  Christian Television Network (or CTN).
“Cafe Conversations With Mr. Know Your Worth” is scheduled to premiere on March 7 and will air every Saturday at 9:30 p.m. CST.
For Jordan Jr., 36, his forthcoming TV show, by all accounts, is a testament of his immeasurable body of work in this ever-so-competitive empowerment industry.
A native Memphian who is widely known around the country as “Mr. Know Your Worth,” Jordan Jr. also is a longtime motivational speaker, relationship expert, and an award-winning author who’s the mastermind behind three books to date.

MORE ON AARON JORDAN JRhttps://www.aaronjordanjr.com/

As for “Cafe Conversations With Mr. Know Your Worth,” Jordan Jr. is especially giddy over the fact that his latest awe-inspiring achievement undoubtedly has emerged amid humble beginnings.

In a nutshell, Jordan Jr. is appreciative of the unmerited favor God has bestowed upon his life, in large part because, well, nothing was given to him.

For what it’s worth, this Mid-South-area empowerment extraordinaire undoubtedly has paid his dues which, to his credit, essentially sums up why he’s surely earned the right to bask in the glory of the moment for such a pivotal — and ceremonious — time as now.

Jordan said virtual mentors such as Les Brown, Bishop T.D. Jakes, and Steve Harvey are amongst those who have inspired him to think diligently outside the box and follow his dream.

“Growing up, I always use to ask myself, ‘Why not me?’” Jordan Jr. told Making Headline News during a recent interview. “From that point on, the universe aligned itself with the order.”

And the rest, as they say, was history.

Fortunately for Jordan Jr., the Memphis Whitehaven High School graduate hasn’t looked back since. All he’s done is steadfastly devise ways to broaden his horizon, thus make a name for himself in an industry whereby he’s clearly found his niche.

“It has not been an easy journey over the last eight years, but never giving up was at the forefront of mind,” Jordan Jr. said. “In God’s Word, it states, ‘Faith is the substance of thing hope for, and the evidence of things not seen.’”

By and large, there were times in which Jordan Jr. had only his faith to rely on.

Which, truth be told, is all he needed, really.

“Even through all of the trials and tribulations of life, I still hung on to His word, which is still evident today…belief in self and trusting in the ability that He placed within me,” Jordan Jr. said.

Founded in 1979 by Bob D’Andrea, the Nashville-based Christian Television Network has been broadcasting the gospel since June 1986.

CTN is dedicated exclusively to distributing positive Christian programming and it strives to provide programs brimming with unique and wholesome values.

These award-winning programs provide families and individuals from all walks of life with the best in Christian television today.

Come March, the network will be able add “Cafe Conversations With Mr. Know Your Worth” to its notable and credible lineup.

“(My mission) is to impact the lives of others in a positive way, provoking thought, and changing the lives of others through the stories profound people,” said Jordan Jr., whose show will be geared toward individuals ranging in ages 18 to 54 and will air in over 25 counties, 50 cities, and 1.9 million households.

A native Memphian who is widely known around the country as “Mr. Know Your Worth,” Jordan Jr. also is a longtime motivational speaker, relationship expert, and AN award-winning author who’s the mastermind behind three books to date.

Interestingly, Jordan said virtual mentors such as Les Brown, Bishop T.D. Jakes, and Steve Harvey are amongst those who have inspired him to think diligently outside the box and follow his dream.

“I continued to bring up the question of me asking myself, ‘Why not me?” Jordan said. “But more importantly, I get the most inspiration from my wife and my daughter, just knowing that they are depending on me.”

So will millions around the globe in the coming days.

“(I’ve been blessed with) the ability to impact the lives of millions of people in different areas of their lives,” Jordan Jr. said. “I believe that it is my calling, to inspire and enrich.”

Much to his delight, it’s all about to come full circle.

So stay tuned.

WON’T HE DO IT? For what it’s worth, this Mid-South-area empowerment extraordinaire undoubtedly has paid his dues which, to his credit, essentially sums up why he’s surely earned the right to bask in the glory of the moment for such a pivotal — and ceremonious — time as now.

Also, Pyburn-Smith’s venture has become a fixture, in large part because of its REAL TALK LIVE, an empowerment session in its group that addresses real life issues, business-related subjects and, most of all, the goodness of God.

“The goal is to eventually open several homes to house women and children and assist them with education, financial stability, credit repair, and show these women and children that God loves them and so do we,” Pyburn-Smith, 41, told Making Headline News this week.

Pyburn-Smith’s endeavor began as a Facebook group approximately eight months, a venture that was comprised of 54 members. The organization has since expanded to 474 individuals, or as Pyburn-Smith acknowledges, “God-fearing, business-minded women that I absolutely adore and love.”

A native of Dallas who works primarily as an Operation Analyst, Pyburn-Smith doesn’t shy away from the notion that she’s been blessed mightily to function in her element, largely because God’s has strategically set her aside for His use.

“God doesn’t call the qualified. He qualifies the called,” Pyburn-Smith says without hesitation. “My life has been nothing but a ministry, a gift of many talents, and God has guided me to a path that gives Him the glory, but provides me with His purpose.”

The mere fact that God has singled out Pyburn-Smith to oversee the day-to-day operations of a flourishing nonprofit organization is something about which she doesn’t take lightly.

“I was chosen for the path I’m on and I’m so propelled to finish my God given race until the end,” Pyburn-Smith said. “God’s opening doors that no man can shut. I started this organization and business from a vision God gave me in church one Sunday. He said, t’s your race; run it well.’”

For starters, Pyburn-Smith’s endeavor began as a Facebook group approximately eight months, a venture that was comprised of 54 members. The organization has since expanded to 474 individuals, or as Pyburn-Smith acknowledges, “God-fearing, business-minded women that I absolutely adore and love.”

“We empower each other,” Pyburn-Smith said. “We are growing into the knowledge of God with each other and we are learning to support one another.”

NEW BOOK ON THE MARKET

A 1997 graduate of Dallas’ Lobias Murray Christian Academy, Pyburn-Smith is currently enrolled at Independence University, which based out of Salt Lake City, where she’s pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Business Management with emphasis in Human Resource.

In 2005,  Pyburn-Smith earned a trade license as a nail tech from State Beauty College. She later would become a Medical Administrative Assistant graduate at nearby Everest College in 2013.

Pyburn-Smith has announced the forthcoming release of her first book entitled, The Mess That Gifted The Messenger, which is scheduled to debut on January 31.

As for her thriving, progressive business venture, Pyburn-Smith credits her family, friends, fellow church members, and the Sisterhood Group STGP, Inc. for having inspired her to move forward diligently with her God-mandated assignment.

Now she convinced that Sisterhood Through God’s Plan, Inc.’s best and brightest days are well ahead of it.

“Yes, 2020 is going to be an epic year for us,” Pyburn-Smith said. “We have a fashion show were planning and a women’s conference. I have also been invited to speak at several events.”

Interestingly, Pyburn-Smith has announced the forthcoming release of her first book entitled, The Mess That Gifted The Messenger, which is scheduled to debut on January 31.

Having discovered her keen passion for speaking before the masses during her youth, Pyburn-Smith’s notable objective through her organization is centered largely on her gifts as a Christian Motivational International Speaker.

“This book is an awesome must read,” said Pyburn-Smith, whose written work is available as a hard copy or eBook for $10. “I feel it is necessary (to esteem other daily) because healing is a part of my life and I wouldn’t be where I am now if God hadn’t healed me,” Pyburn-Smith  added. “Women need to know daily that no matter what we endure, healing is for our soul and we are born to live until we die. I must encourage others daily, because it’s not needed, it’s necessary. My positive words can save a life or millions.”

After all, if there’s one thing that virtually no one can debate when it comes to Pyburn-Smith, it is this:

She routinely goes to great lengths to exemplify that she has a heart for people.

Los Angeles writer Derrick L. Faggétt makes his authorship debut in Soul Talk Volume 3

Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord. (1 Corinthians 15:58 NKJV)

MIGHTY MAN OF VALOR

HE’S ALL IN — A native of Chicago, Derrick Faggétt has joined a gallery of writers to collectively assemble “Soul Talk Volume 3: Soul-Stirring Stories of People Who Let Go and Let God,” an intriguing and spiritually-empowering anthology that is spearheaded by longtime philanthropist and multi-bestselling author Cheryl Polote-Williamson.

DALLAS — Fortunately for Derrick L. Faggétt, the golden opportunity had suddenly arisen.

And, for a man who’s proven to be after God’s own heart, he did the most logical thing he sensed was in his best interest.
He seized the opportunity to put his immeasurable gifts on display.
“I started my own business in the year of 2015,” Faggétt, during an interview this week from Los Angeles with Making Headline News, said, recalling the awe-inspiring developments that led to his having delved off into the world of authorship. “And as part of building a rapport with my clientele, I would share my testimony — a.k.a. my why I decided to do something different…outside the box.
“As I begin to share my story around the country, I would always get various individuals expressing that I should share my story with a broader audience and or consider writing a book,” Faggétt continued.
And the rest, as they say, was history.

It wasn’t long thereafter that Faggétt’s authorship debut would ultimately come full circle.

A native of Chicago, Faggétt has joined a gallery of writers to collectively assemble “Soul Talk Volume 3: Soul-Stirring Stories of People Who Let Go and Let God,” an intriguing and spiritually-empowering anthology that is spearheaded by longtime philanthropist and multi-bestselling author Cheryl Polote-Williamson.

As Faggétt explained, he initially was introduced to the concept of becoming a co-author for Soul Talk Volume 3 approximately two years.

For what it’s worth, the opportunistic Faggétt is giddy he subsequently obeyed the Voice of God, a demonstration of faith that has given way to his having addressed in Soul Talk Volume 3 the subject entitled, “The Male-Man.”

“I guess in a nutshell, that was God’s way of telling me that I had permission, but it simmered for years until 2018,” Faggétt said. “The opportunity came knocking and I answered.”

For what it’s worth, the opportunistic Faggétt is giddy of that fact that he subsequently obeyed the Voice of God, a demonstration of faith that has given way to his having addressed in Soul Talk Volume 3 the subject entitled, “The Male-Man.”

“My message is that fatherlessness is a symptom of a bigger problem,” said Faggétt, who needed only three months to assemble his chapter. “This problem is their falling away from God‘s principles for the family and (fail to understand) what it means to be a kingdom man, or how to take steps to get the family back in God’s order.”

Interestingly, while Faggétt was raised without a father in the home, he still appropriately hints that notion shouldn’t merely deter the male to assume his rightful place in the home and in the Body of Christ.

“I would have to say the issue of growing up without my father,” said Faggétt, explaining why he elected to address such a pertinent subject. “(I wrote it because of) how many other men that I’ve had the opportunity to speak with who’ve been effected by fatherlessness, but don’t understand how to correct it generationally. Since most men are not at a healthy place to discuss it openly, I felt in some ways that since I went through it as well, someone needed to do something before it gets worse.”

The feedback, as expected, has been mostly favorable, Faggétt said.

“I have received very positive feedback — from men and women,” he said. “For example, (they’ve said) this is something that we need and that ‘We need more men like you who will speak the truth or admit there is a problem.’”

“As I begin to share my story around the country, I would always get various individuals expressing that I should share my story with a broader audience and or consider writing a book,” Faggétt said.

Now that Faggétt’s authorship tenure is underway, he has announced that he’s open to participate in any type of courses and or curriculum, most notably sessions that would center on helping or aiding in the behavioral changes for men.

“(We all can) agree that this conversation needs to take place,” said Faggétt, who recently established an organization known as Men of Fortitude. “Men have reached out asking how to get started or what can I do to get better or what steps can (they) take now.”

Aside from his newly-established organization, Faggétt has a few scheduled podcasts over the next few months during which he will promote his latest endeavor as an author.

“My plan is to acquire more speaking engagements as it pertains to helping men understand how to be men through Men and Fathers 101,” Faggétt said.

AUTHOR AMELIA E. FAGGETT

Faggétt’s wife, Amelia E. Faggétt, is also an accomplished writer, whose book that’s geared toward individuals with special needs will be officially released this during Super Bowl weekend in Miami.

Faggétt’s wife, Amelia E. Faggétt, is also an accomplished writer, one whose book that’s geared toward individuals with special needs will be officially released this during Super Bowl weekend in Miami.

“Parenting a special needs child is definitely a challenge, which is part of my blessing,” said Amelia Faggétt, who spent better part of a decade to assemble her book entitled, Life With A Special Needs Child. “Not many can do it. I didn’t think I could. I’ve had good days as well as bad days, but more smiles than tears throughout my journey with my daughter, Melany.

“She’s had more surgeries before age three than most would have in a lifetime. If I can help the next parent or soon to be parents who has a special needs circumstance navigate through it better, then I’ve served my purpose. These are just a couple of reasons why I wrote this book and why it’s so important to share.”

Mississippi author Evangelist Melinda Walker’s spiritually-empowering book is having a massive kingdom impact

Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you; But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. (1 Peter 4:12-13 KJV)

ALABASTER BOX OF BLESSINGS

GOD’S LEADING LADY — Mid-South author Evangelist Melinda Walker thought it necessary to share of her assortment of life-altering testimonies in a book entitled, “Right When The Caterpillar Thought Her Life Was Over, She Became A Butterfly.”

For Melinda Walker, 2018 essentially was a year in which she witnessed a much-anticipated defining moment, of sorts.

For starters, that is when God strategically breathed on her the unction of the Holy Spirit.
As a result, Walker was able to appropriately breathe again, an awe-inspiring development that had greatly enabled her to embrace the divine purpose for which she was created.
“(God) gave it to me (the vision) in 2018 right after I launched my first Anthology, ‘Breathe,’” Walker, during an interview this week with Making Headline News, said, recalling the memorable developments that had ultimately given way to her composing a rather compelling, spiritually empowering book.  “I was finally able to breathe.”
So much so that Walker thought it necessary to share of her assortment of life-altering testimonies in a book entitled, “Right When The Caterpillar Thought Her Life Was Over, She Became A Butterfly.”

An anthology that is comprised of more than 10 women, each of this accomplished writers have deemed it essential to join forces and share of their respective testimonies, many of which were mired by heartache, pain, abuse, rejection, abandonment, not to mention the appropriate steps in how they were blessed to overcome them.

A book that is comprised of 235 pages and is nearly two months removed from its ceremoniously release, Walker’s “Right When The Caterpillar Thought Her Life Was Over, She Became A Butterfly” recalls specifically how godly women often experience situations and hardships in life, causing them to go into their shell and run from life, as mentioned in a detailed introduction at Amazon.com.

“Rarely do they have the opportunity to release the weight and walk free,” said an Amazon spokesperson for Walker’s “Right When The Caterpillar Thought Her Life Was Over, She Became A Butterfly.”

IT’S ALL GOOD — A book she needed somewhere in the neighborhood of a half calendar year to assembled, Walker’s “Right When The Caterpillar Thought Her Life Was Over, She Became A Butterfly” has been as good advertised, given it has drawn an array of favorable feedback.

“If you have experienced this, you know how it can haunt you,” added an Amazon spokesperson. “You may even find yourself in one of the stories.”

For the record, Walker sure did. And because of that, one thing for which she can boldly attest is that, well, the truth has set her free.

Free from her tumultuous past.

Free from being a victim to the adversary.

Free from bondage.

Free in that, much to her delight, she can stand dauntlessly on God’s battlefield and tell of His goodness and mercies.

“There are stages to life and just as the caterpillar went through the stages in her life to transform into a beautiful butterfly, so shall we as women,” Walker said in response to the feedback she’s garnered since her book’s release. “We go through the toughest things in life. The last stage is the cocoon stage and that’s when we have to choose to live.”

Because after all, that is what transforming from a caterpillar to a butterfly is all about.

“(God) simply spoke to me and said, ‘Right when you thought it was over, I allowed you to go through a metamorphosis and I caused all things to work together for your good,’” Walker recalled. “He used all my ugliness for His good and He told me to allow women (with similar) testimonies to join me as we gave hope to hopeless situations in the lives of many women.”

By and large, a renewed sense of “hope” undoubtedly seemed to be the featured theme, of sorts, for Walker’s “Right When The Caterpillar Thought Her Life Was Over, She Became A Butterfly.”

“I wanted this book to make women know that He will take all their pain and bottle it up in this alabaster box and He would use it for His glory,” Walker explained. “I want this book to demonstrate the power of God, the power of forgiveness and the power of deliverance. I want people to know God is able to do exceedingly, abundantly, above all we can ask or think according to the power that worketh in is. He’s able!”

“It is the ugliest stage…no life, no joy, depression and giving up is easy but if we decide to complete this cycle and allow the transformation to take place we too will transform into a beautiful butterfly,” Walker continued. “Don’t give up and trust the process. I’ve received feedback that this book has challenged, healed and brought clarity in many areas of the lives of many women thus far.”

So far, Walker has written a trio of books to date with more on the horizon much sooner than later, she said.

A native of Bogalusa, Louisiana, Walker currently resides is Hattiesburg, Mississippi.

AND THE BIBLE SAYS…

A devout woman of faith, Walker is widely known as a wife, mother, author, health and wellness coach, life and purpose coach, ghost writer, and vision pusher.

She is the youngest daughter of two girls. Having graduated high school in 1991 and completed two years of college, Walker subsequently relocated to the Magnolia State, where she was eventually united in Holy Matrimony with her husband of 26 years.

The couple has since been residents of Hattiesburg and have three children together.

DEFINING MOMENT — For Melinda Walker, 2018 essentially was a year in which she witnessed a much-anticipated defining moment, of sorts. For starters, that is when God strategically breathed on her the unction of the Holy Spirit.

Interestingly, Walker is a licensed evangelist at the Outreach Fellowship Revival Center, where she serves faithfully under the leadership of Pastor Jessie Holloway and wife Teresa Holloway.

As for her latest book, Walker said she overwhelming grateful that she acted out of complete obedience unto God.

“This book allows me to show women that God can take something out of nothing and He can use our past for the present and our pain for purpose,” Walker said. “Everything we went through was necessary to bring out the best version of who God created us to be. Every woman has a purpose and this book allowed me to help them tell their truth and stand in it.”

With God, their Helper, steering the way.

Florida gospel recording phenom ‘4G’ making remarkable strides as the face of GrandMaster Entertainment LLC

Sing to the LORD a new song; sing to the LORD, all the earth. (Psalm 96:1 NIV)

4-GOD BE THE GLORY

GLOBAL IMPACT — Widely known amongst his peers as “4G,” Jimmy Gathers, 44, is the CEO and Founder of GrandMaster Entertainment LLC, his Panama City, Florida-based company that has come full circle amid his more than 15 years in the music entertainment arena.

Above far as the above Biblical passage goes, Jimmy Orlando Gathers, Jr. spiritual resume is such that he customarily sings unto the Lord a new song.

Or, in his case, he raps, too.
“Aside from being in the music industry, on a personal level, it’s more about my family’s legacy,” Gathers, during a recent interview with Making Headline News, said, explaining the awe-inspiring events that have greatly afforded him the golden opportunity to function in his element. “Let me elaborate.”
Alright, then.
Have at it.
“Not only am I a musician…personally, I’m also a black man who’s not only trying to get beyond racial barriers, but I’m also trying to break generational curses that so many other black men in the black community face by not leaving an inheritance for the family and extended families.”
Given the immeasurable strides Gathers have made in recent years as a giftedly talented entertainer, it’s safe to assume his best and brightest days are well ahead of him in this, an ever-so-competitive music industry.

MORE ON 4G: https://www.4grapmusic.com/

Widely known amongst his peers as “Jay Gathers” — which is accompanied by the nickname, “4G” — Gathers is the CEO and Founder of GrandMaster Entertainment LLC, his Panama City, Florida-based company that has come full circle amid his more than 15 years in the music entertainment arena.

Widely regarded as an accomplished gospel hip-hop and Christian hip-hop recording artist, what’s so intriguing about 4G’s achievements is that he’s going to great lengths to help advance the kingdom in ways unimaginable.

Credit the fact that he’s steadfastly on fire for God as arguably the grandest reasons why.

Because, after all, even aside from having evolved as a fixture in the Body of Christ, 4G doesn’t shy away from the notion that only what you do for Christ will last.

“(I love) providing great music, great entertainment, and giving people the message of the gospel,” said 4G, a native of Apalachicola, Florida. “More importantly, it blesses me to see people’s lives changed, because they can relate to the transparency in my music.”

A 1993 graduate of Panama City’s Bay High School, 4G earned his undergraduate degree from Florida State University. Prior to that, he was enrolled at Gulf Coast State College in Panama City, where he earned General Associate of Arts and Associate of Science Degrees in Fire Science, which ultimately gave way to his becoming a certified fire fighter.

GOD’S PLAN…GOD’S PLAN — Even aside from having evolved as a fixture in the Body of Christ, 4G doesn’t shy away from the notion that only what you do for Christ will last.

While 4G is fully aware that knowledge is power, music has always been his primary passion.

In fact, 4G’s musical gifts, by all accounts, are a part of the divine purpose for which he was created.

How else to explain why he’s had the luxury of working alongside some of the gospel music industry’s finest and most prominent personalities?

Widely regarded as an accomplished gospel hip-hop and Christian hip-hop recording artist, what’s so intriguing about 4G’s achievements is that he’s going to great lengths to help advance the kingdom in ways unimaginable.

“I’ve had the pleasure of collaborating with two-time Stellar award winner Canton Jones,” said 4G, calling off names of gospel celebs as if he’s handing out diplomas. “He’s actually featured on four projects off my newly released album entitled, ‘Unqualified.’ “I also have collaborations with Mr. Del (previously of Three Six Mafia) and Born Divine of the Wu Tang Family.”

Wait. There’s more.

“I also have projects produced by well- known producers who’ve produced for other mainstream artists such as Supa Cool — Kevin Gates, Gucci Mane, Shaquille O’Neal — and Lady Trauma (Missy Elliot),” 4G said.

IN HIS OWN WORDS — “Not only am I a musician…personally, I’m also a black man who’s not only trying to get beyond racial barriers, but I’m also trying to break generational curses that so many other black men in the black community face by not leaving an inheritance for the family and extended families.”

“I’ve appeared twice on Bobby Jones Presents in Nashville, appeared on America’s Got Anointing (The Word Network) in Atlanta, performed the last two years at showcases in Las Vegas during the Stellar Awards, was an opening act for Le’Andria Johnson in Charlotte, appeared on the front cover of Soul Central Magazine (March, 2019 Edition), the front cover of Gospel USA Magazine (October, 2019 Edition), won the 2019 Holy Hip-Hop artist of the Year award in North Carolina.”

Hold up. He’s still not finished disclosing of his laundry list of accolades.

4G’s musical gifts, by all accounts, are a part of the divine purpose for which he was created. How else to explain why he’s had the luxury of working alongside some of the gospel music industry’s finest and most prominent personalities?

“I’ve been nominated for numerous other (awards) to include as the V.O.G.M.A., Steeple Awards, and Soul Central Awards,” said 4G, who has been the beneficiary of ongoing media coverage and exposure.

As for the upcoming New Year, 4G is overwhelmingly enthused, in large part because greater is on the way, he said.

“(The year) 2020 is looking very promising as I’m planning more musical events at major churches in bigger markets, radio interviews, recording more visuals and music videos, recording and releasing more new music, etc.,” 4G said.

HOLDIN’ IT DOWN

For what it’s worth, 4G emphasized, among other things, that his primary objective is to glorify God through his musical gifts, all the while leaving a last impression as a result.

“As stated in Proverbs 13:22, a good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children, but the sinner’s wealth is laid up for the righteous,” 4G said. “When my father died years ago, he didn’t leave anything behind financially that I — as his son — could be proud of. That feeling that I felt during that time in my life is one I never want my sons and daughters to feel. That is what propels me daily in my business venture.”

Eloquently stated by a giftedly talented child of God, whose spiritual resume is such that he customarily sings unto the Lord a new song.

Or, in his case, raps, too.

Given the immeasurable strides 4G have made in his recent years as a giftedly talented entertainer, it’s safe to assume his best and brightest days are well ahead of him in this, an ever-so-competitive music industry.

Arkansas businesswoman Mykia Brooks defies slew of odds, establishes a flourishing nonprofit organization

Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord. (1 Corinthians 15:58 NIV)

GOD’S BEACON OF LIGHT

SHYNE ON ME — A native of Blytheville, Arkansas, Mykia Brooks is the founder and CEO of Shyne Her Light INC., her Mid-South-area non-profit organization that is centered largely on promoting unity within women empowerment.

To her distinctly unique credit, Mykia Brooks isn’t your typical 27-year-old.

Credit the fact that she’s diligently on fire for God as arguably the biggest reason why.
For what it’s worth, it is due in large part to Brooks’ spirited and innovative disposition that have greatly enabled her to function mightily in her element, both as a Pastor and thriving entrepreneur — with God, her Helper, steering the way.
“What I like most is the women who are motivated by God (and that God is) using me to share my story or encourage them,” Brooks, during an interview this week with Making Headline News said, when asked what she likes the most about her flourishing venture.
A native of Blytheville, Arkansas, Brooks is the founder and CEO of Shyne Her Light INC., her Mid-South-area non-profit organization that is centered largely on promoting unity within women empowerment.

MORE ON SHYNE HER LIGHT INC.: https://www.shyneherlight.org/

Interestingly, Shyne Her Light sometime last year was spearheaded as a women empowerment group on Facebook and nearly 400 women have since joined Brooks’ credible organization, which has become widely known for its fervent commitment to empower, equip, and edify women to become the best versions of themselves.

Moreover, Brooks’ nonprofit organization has steadfastly set itself apart as an advocate for mental health, diabetes, and cancer, she told MHN.

That’s not all.

“Shyne Her Light INC. believes in helping, motivating, and inspiring every woman, no matter her race, background, or where she is from,” Brooks said. “(We strive to) soar into the greatness that she is born to be.”

RAPID GROWTH — Interestingly, Shyne Her Light sometime last year was spearheaded as a women empowerment group on Facebook and nearly 400 women have since joined Brooks’ credible organization, which has become widely known for its fervent commitment to empower, equip, and edify women to become the best versions of themselves..

In addition, Shyne Her Light INC. customarily provides mentoring for individuals ranging in ages 16-and-up, focusing mainly on personal development, professional development, business marketing, and spiritual guidance.

Also, Shyne Her Light INC. hosts business seminars for women, particularly those who aspire to start a business or currently run a business, but are seeking to network or gain pertinent information that would greatly enable them to become businesswomen.

“We look forward to the now and future to helping women no matter the situation or her past soar and evolve,” Brooks said.

By and large, Brooks’ Shyne Her Light INC. emerged amid humble beginnings. Amongst the reasons is that Brooks has surpassed things in her life, a trend that had ultimately given way to her ability to disconnect her from her purpose, as mentioned in a detailed introduction of her organization at https://www.shyneherlight.org/aboutceo.

THE PROVERBS 31 AFFECT

Though she has yet to reach her 30’s, Brooks undoubtedly has endured her share of turmoil, from having conquered depression, molestation, low self-esteem, suicidal thoughts, mental abuse in relationships, diabetes, and financial struggles, among other things.

But God…

“She has overcome her biggest giants and uses her pain and trauma to empower other women to soar,” said a spoke for Brooks Shyne Her Light INC.

Interestingly and much to her delight, Brooks’ credible organization was birthed primarily when God once commanded her “to keep shining your light,” she recalls.

She’s since taken her Father’s direct commands and made it apart of the divine purpose for which she was created.

Yep, that’s just like God, always providing for His children a much-needed way of escape.

“God gave me that when I was being mentally abused,” said Brooks, alluding to the startup of her nonprofit. “Every time I post about Shyne Her Light, I’m reminded how I beat depression, sickness, suicidal, overcame low self-esteem, and created a platform for women to soar and become whom God intended for them to be.”

Brooks is overwhelmingly grateful of the notion that all things have worked together for her good.

“I knew that I (was) created for a purpose even when I fought my toughest battles of dealing with diabetes and going through the process of almost losing my eyesight,” Brooks explained. “God’s hands were on me for such a time like this. I stand for every woman that have or is facing depression, molestation, hardship, and healing.”

She will then pursue a Masters in Professional Counseling (Clinical Mental Health) and boasts lofty aspirations of becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor.

Though she has yet to reach her 30’s, Brooks undoubtedly has endured her share of turmoil, from having conquered depression, molestation, low self-esteem, suicidal thoughts, mental abuse in relationships, diabetes, and financial struggles, among other things.

A progressive nonprofit organization that has enjoyed constant success since it went into full operations on September 2, 2019, Brooks’ itinerary includes hosting Shyne Her Light’s inaugural Meet & Greet Seminar on December 21 at 6:30 p.m. CST at Nehemiah’s Holy Temple, the church she pastors that’s located at 1400 Chickasawba in Blytheville.

An event that will be accompanied by the theme, “Sunshine Like A Boss, Act Like A Woman” and is free and open to the public, this meet and greet will feature a few speakers, many of whom will provide strategic insight on starting a business, personal finances, business finances, skin care, having a healthy lifestyle, everyday makeup for working women, digital marking, and “so much more,” Brooks said.

SEASON OF DESTINY STEPS

KNOWLEDGE IS POWER — Upon graduating high school in 2010, Brooks earned an Associate’s Degree in Criminology Psychology from Arkansas Northeastern Community College in May 2013. She is currently enrolled at Liberty University, where she is pursuing an undergraduate degree in Life Coach and Counseling Psychology and is expected to graduate is May 2021.

Brooks’ Shyne HER Light was originally named “Shyne Your Light,” which was an encouragement name to which God had introduced her when she was praying on a way to escape a toxic relationship mired by mental abuse.

Interestingly, Brooks would subsequently change the name of her organization to “Shyne HER Light” once her empowerment group was officially established, in large part because she realized all through which she has gone was to help the next woman.

To her credit, she’s been nothing short of remarkable — with God, her Helper, steering the way.
