Alabama author Monique Pettaway-Ray savoring the ‘abundant life’ Christ came to give us through a new book

I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. (Romans 8:18 NIV)

Monique Pettaway-Ray was in the process of living her best life.

At least, she sensed she was.

As Pettaway-Ray recalled like yesterday, she was approximately six months removed from having exchanged nuptials with the man of her dreams.

POINTING TOWARD THE HEAVENS — A native of Saraland, Alabama, Monique Pettaway-Ray is amongst a gallery of accomplished authors who have joined forces to compose the book, “I Rise, Living Beyond The Bruises” which is scheduled to be officially released in December.

As if that wasn’t enough to bring her to all smiles, she had eventually landed a rather commendable entry-level position as a middle school science instructor in Huntsville, Alabama.

Life, as she knew it, was the life she sensed she fully deserved, was the life she had worked so diligently to reap and possess with God, her Helper, leading the way.

Then just like that, the enemy — just as he always does — had ultimately showed his true colors, considering Pettaway-Ray’s life had suddenly “imploded,” according to a spokesperson for her book entitled, “Incarcerated But Free: How To find Freedom From Your Mental Prison.”

LEAD OFF HITTER — Having made her authorship debut a little more than a decade ago, Pettaway-Ray’s “Incarcerated But Free: How To find Freedom From Your Mental Prison” took somewhere in the neighborhood of about five years to compose.

That’s because her newlywed husband was consequently convicted for murder and sentenced to life in prison without parole.

“A vital part of her life was ripped from her and Monique didn’t know how to cope,” according to a spokesperson in a detailed breakdown of her September 2007 released book.

Fast forward some 11 years later, Pettaway-Ray, a longtime educator for the Mobile (Ala.) County Public Schools System, has deemed it essential to collectively share of her assortment of life-changing testimonies through another awe-inspiring project along with a host of other writers.

A native of  Saraland, Alabama, Pettaway-Ray is amongst a gallery of accomplished authors who have joined forces to compose the book, “I Rise, Living Beyond The Bruises.”

ONE PRECIOUS, GODLY GIFT — An empowering, kingdom-advancing written document, “I Rise, Living Beyond The Bruises” is forwarded by Flint, Michigan-based author Precious S. Brown and is scheduled to make its official release on the market on December 17.

An empowering, kingdom-advancing written document, “I Rise, Living Beyond The Bruises” is forwarded by Flint, Michigan-based author Precious S. Brown and is scheduled to make its official release on the market on December 17.

During a recent interview with Making Headline News, Pettaway-Ray was complementary of Brown for obeying the Voice of God by establishing a notable platform for her and other authors to tell of God’s goodness through their slew of trials and tribulations.

“I chose to be a part of this book, because there are so many people who are living in their own mental prison who don’t have a support system or guidance to help them overcome their pains,” Pettaway-Ray said. “This book will help women find healing and support they are seeking.”

All things considered, amongst the things about which Pettaway-Ray found especially intriguing was Brown’s keen ability to fortify agape love, coupled with her willingness to display transparency.

FINDING HER SPIRITUAL NICHE — Pettaway-Ray, a longtime educator for the Mobile (Ala.) County Public Schools System, has deemed it essential to collectively share of her assortment of life-changing testimonies through another awe-inspiring project along with a host of other writers.

“I began the journey of writing this book when I teamed up with Precious Brown of Kilgore Publishing,” Pettaway-Ray explained. “She told me about her vision of this current book and when I heard the title, I truly felt in my spirit that this was a book I definitely wanted to be a part of, because I believe everyone has a story and that everyone’s story can inspire hope and change someone’s life.”

Having made her authorship debut a little more than a decade ago, Pettaway-Ray’s “Incarcerated But Free: How To find Freedom From Your Mental Prison” took somewhere in the neighborhood of about five years to compose.

As for her latest project, it didn’t take as long, in large part because all things considered, God had already showed Himself strong amid the enemy having shown his true colors.

IN AWE OF GOD — As for Pettaway-Ray’s latest project, it didn’t take as long to complete, in large part because all things considered, God had already showed Himself strong amid the enemy having shown his true colors.

“Before God called me to the ministry, I was broken, hurt, and confused. It was only after I rededicated my life to Christ that God began to reveal to me His purpose for my life. Since then, God has delivered me from my pain and now I am on a mission to help women overcome their challenges and be healed from their past hurts. — Monique Pettaway-Ray

“Because when a woman can be healed from her hurts, she is free to live that abundant life that Christ promised in scripture.”

The abundant, much to Pettaway-Ray’s delight, is something by which she has thoroughly possessed even after having endured arguably the darkest season of her life.

Yep. That’s just like God.

NOT TODAY, DEVIL — The abundant, much to Pettaway-Ray’s delight, is something by which she has thoroughly possessed even after having endured arguably the darkest season of her life.

“The message I am sending to people is that regardless of what you have been through or what experiences you have had, you can still be a vessel used by God,” Pettaway-Ray said. “You just have to realize that there are gifts and talents that lie deep inside and God just wants us to be willing to use those gifts for his glory.

“A gift is not a gift unless you give it to someone,” Pettaway continued. “God expects us to use our gifts for the purpose of helping others. It’s never too late to fulfill passion, purpose, or the power that God has placed inside of you. God only wants a willing vessel.”

Pettaway-Ray would know for sure, considering she’s a vessel who has deemed it a foregone conclusion to be used by God Almighty.

South Carolina entrepreneur Ebony Hughes defies health-related challenges, becomes a fixture for 7 Dimensions

In case you don’t know her, Ebony Hughes would like to introduce herself.

A native of Hemingway, South Carolina, Hughes, 35, is a proud graduate of Hemingway’s Carvers Bay High School.

She would eventually advance her educational endeavors at Coastal Carolina University in nearby Conway, which has greatly enabled her to pursue, fulfill, and carry out her dream as a rising businesswoman.

MAKING HER PRESENCE FELT — Georgetown, South Carolina-area businesswoman Ebony Hughes has become a fixture for 7 Dimensions, a universally-acclaimed online keto coaching platform, whereby Hughes is responsible for coaching people on achieving their health and fitness goals in seven areas of life.

Credit her seemingly dysfunctional and unhealthy lifestyle as arguably the biggest reasons why.

“After starting my insurance business and working around the clock to grow it successfully, my work and personal life became unbalanced,” Hughes told Making Headline News this week. “Over time, I became over weight. I had to buy larger clothes and I had become ashamed of my body.”

For Hughes, she was determined to see to it that such health-related hurdles were short-lived.

That, after all, practically sums up why she has become a fixture for 7 Dimensions, a universally-acclaimed online keto coaching platform, whereby Hughes is responsible largely for coaching people on achieving their health and fitness goals in seven areas of life.

“My team and I make sure that clients get a customized meal and training plan and follow up with them regularly, most times daily to motivate them to stay on track with their plan and remind them of their goals to keep them accountable,” said Hughes, providing a thorough overview of her business venture.

Amongst the factors that are especially intriguing about Hughes’ business is that because it is an online endeavor, she’s afforded the golden opportunity to have more of a global impact.

“I like that my business helps people on an online platform and app so that I can stay connected to my clients and have a more balanced life,” Hughes said of a venture that caters to people of all ages.

Interestingly, 7 Dimensions has evolved and attracted a global presence, in large part because it is committed to helping its clients embrace the notion that this journey has no final destination, according to a spokesperson for 7 Dimensions at https://www.my7dimensions.com/.

“We don’t stop when we find a treasure chest at the end of a rainbow,” the 7 Dimensions spokesperson added. “There are three treasures that you will find almost immediately, and that will grow in power every day you maintain this journey with us: getting healthier, sustained energy, and a love of life that can only come from the natural rush of endorphins blasting your body with every beat of your pounding heart.”

Much to the delight to Hughes, those are the essential and therapeutic benefits she has acquired since joining 7 Dimensions.

Which is to say that she has nowhere to go but up in what has become a globally-acclaimed company.

“I started feeling sluggish and tired,” said Hughes, recalling those during which she struggled with her health. “I just knew that I was sick and no doctor had to tell me this. The craziest part of it all is that I knew better as I majored in health promotion. I knew that I needed to lose the fat.

“I promised myself that would lose weight and joined a gym, and I lost a few pounds, but I still felt bad and gave up after a while of busting my butt at the gym and eating, what I thought was, healthy foods. A few short months later, I lost my breath and thought that I was going to die on my sofa. I began to pray to the Lord to ask Him to help me live so my children would not find me dead.” — Ebony Hughes

For Hughes, God not only gave her another chance at life but, most importantly, He ushered her into the divine purpose for which He created her, something about which she doesn’t take lightly.

BACK AND BETTER THAN EVER — For Hughes, God not only gave her another chance at life but, most importantly, He ushered her into the divine purpose for which He created her, something about which she doesn’t take lightly.

“I immediately made the decision to see a weight-loss coach,” Hughes said. “I started researching diets and started to understand why I had not lost any significant amount of what. It’s because I was addicted to sugar, and most Americans are as well. I learned that quitting sugar or managing sugar cravings is harder to do than a person trying to quit heroin. After thousands of dollars spent, I did lose weight and I was motivated to help others do the same.”

She’s doing just that with God, her Helper, leading the way.

“I know through my own life experiences of being overweight, sick, and (harboring) low self-esteem, I knew others were going through the same thing,” said Hughes, adding that her children are amongst those who inspired her to achieve her health-related goals. “I believe cultural ideologies, education or the lack thereof, media, and other environmental factors affect a person’s outcome, so I want to be the mediator for as many people as I can help.”

Dallas actress Ash’Lee Priscilla making a name for herself in a career that spans two decades

I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. (Philippians 4:13 KJV)

DALLAS — Ash’Lee Priscilla doesn’t shy away from the notion that she’s diligently working her way toward ensuring that two of her major ambitions come to fruition.

“My ultimate goal is to win an Oscar an open a fine arts college,” Ash’Lee Priscilla told Making Headline News this week.

REMEMBER THE NAME — Much to her delight, she’s not only appropriately discovered her passion and purpose in her selected industry but, because she’s in the prime of her career, it’s safe to assume that Dallas’ Ash’Lee Priscilla’s best and brightest days as an actress are well ahead of her.

To grasp a thorough understanding of why Ash’Lee Priscilla is destined to make such monumental dreams realities, look no further than the continuous progress and strides she’s made since delving off into the ever-so-competitive industry as an actress.

For starters, the 27-year-old Ash’Lee Priscilla will take yet another step toward making her presence felt in her element when she stars in a couple of compelling upcoming shows, most notably the Burning Flame on November 25 at the Plaza Arts Center (located at 1115 Fourth Avenue in nearby Carrollton, Texas), a play that’s written by Corta Ish and directed by Jennifer Sands.

A STAR IS BORN — A graduate of Grambling State University, Ash’Lee Priscilla will star in a couple of compelling upcoming shows, most notably the Burning Flame on November 25 at the Plaza Arts Center (located at 1115 Fourth Avenue in nearby Carrollton, Texas), a play that’s written by Corta Ish and directed by Jennifer Sands.

Not to be outdone, Ash’Lee Priscilla will star as the character Zori in the informative, drama-filled play entitled, Why Women Trip, which will take place December 8, at The Black Academy of Arts and Letters, located at 650 South Griffin Street in Dallas.

All things considered and to her credit, these forthcoming shows essentially are favorable steps for this young actress, whose career undoubtedly is headed in the right direction.

“I have been acting since I was six years old,” Ash’Lee Priscilla, a native of Dallas, said.

Much to her delight, she’s not only appropriately discovered her passion and purpose in her selected industry, but because she’s in the prime of her career, it’s safe to assume that Ash’Lee Priscilla’s best and brightest days as an actress are well ahead of her.

PUTTING IN WORK — An acting tenure that spans more than two decades, Ash’Lee Priscilla’s skills were initially discovered when began acting and competing in a local theater, she recalls.

So remember the name — Ash’Lee Priscilla.

An acting tenure that spans more than two decades, Ash’Lee Priscilla’s skills were initially discovered when began acting and competing in a local theater, she recalls.

“My mother would register me in oratorical contest at my church and school,” said Ash’Lee Priscilla, a 2009 graduate of Dallas’ Booker T. Washington High School for The Performing and Visual Arts. “Every time I competed I won. That’s when I realized I had a gift.”

Fortunately for this young, vibrant actress – who’s armed with a wealth of talent and beauty — her gift has, by all accounts, made room for her.

So much, in fact, that she’s diligently working her way toward ensuring that two of her major ambitions come to fruition.

DREAM CHASING — To grasp a thorough understanding of why Ash’Lee Priscilla is destined to make such monumental dreams realities, look no further than the continuous progress and strides she’s made since delving off into the ever-so-competitive industry as an actress.

So remember the name — Ash’Lee Priscilla.

“The acting industry is a very competitive industry, so competing in competitions while I was younger prepared me for rejection and success. I don’t believe in giving up on your dreams, so determination has propelled me to pursue a career in acting.” — Ash’Lee Priscilla

A career that has existed for some two decades and counting.

So far, so good for this proud Grambling State University alum, who’s going to great lengths to ensure that she remains relevant in an industry whereby it seems the competition grows stiffer by the day.

For what it’s worth, Ash’Lee Priscilla seems to be handing the competitive side of acting rather masterfully, in large part because of her solid competitive nature, coupled with her bend-but-don’t-break faith.

DESTINY STEPS — For what it’s worth, Ash’Lee Priscilla seems to be handing the competitive side of acting rather masterfully, in large part because of her solid competitive nature, coupled with her bend-but-don’t-break faith.

“What I like the most about being an actress is the power to minister to other people through entertainment,” said Ash’Lee Priscilla, whose immeasurable talents have been put on display in such places as Louisiana, Georgia, California, North Carolina, and New York, among other establishments. “Acting is ministry as well as therapy, because I can escape from my own issues in life and portray someone else’s life or story.

“I truly believe I was born with the ability to change people live through entertainment.”

Just like those actresses and actors to whom she looks up, most notably Cicely Tyson, Angela Basset, Meagan Good, Taraji P. Henson, Viola Davis, Ntzoke Shange, Denzel Washington, and Will Smith, among others.

“My mission is to be an inspiration to many people throughout my whole life,” said Ash’Lee Priscilla, adding that mother, Teresa Lackey, and a host of theater instructors have played major roles in her acting career. “I was created to educate the world…you can do all things through Christ Who strengthens you.”

That, after all, goes to show that we had better remember the name — Ash’Lee Priscilla.

Hurricane Ike gives way to Texas entrepreneur Dr. Shantuan Coleman Taylor organizing Home Staging Lens

MAKING HEADLINE NEWS WELCOMES DR. SHANTUAN COLEMAN

DALLAS — For Dr. Shantuan Coleman Taylor, September 13, 2008 was the day that changed her life.

For practically the rest of her life.

“I lived near where it hit landed,” Dr. Taylor recalled.

That about which she’s alluding is Hurricane Ike, a powerful tropical cyclone that swept through portions of the Greater Antilles and Northern America, wreaking havoc on infrastructure and agriculture, most notably in Cuba and Texas.

Having resided approximately 40 miles from the shore in Houston, Dr. Taylor’s home was inundated with four feet of water.

A TRUE TREND SETTER — Amongst the reasons Dr. Shantuan Taylor was fortunate to recover from the devastating damage caused by Hurricane Ike is due in large to her bend-but-don’t-break faith, which had ultimately given way to her organizing Home Staging Lens.

“I evacuated prior to the flooding of my home, but upon her return I was devastated by what I saw,” Dr. Taylor told Making Headline News during a recent interview. “The house was flooded. I had holes in the roof, broken windows, and the smell of a destructive storm throughout my house.”

Still, despite a natural disaster that strengthened to a peak intensity as a Category 4 and claimed at least 195 lives, Dr. Taylor somehow managed to discover a silver lining in the wake of a such a life changing occurrence.

“I was blessed. Many others were not,” Dr. Taylor explained. “The (home) had flood insurance. In order to put my house back together, I redesigned the floor plan, totally remodeling the structure and rebuilt it and fell back in love with my house. It was much better than when I originally built it.”

Amongst the reasons Dr. Taylor was fortunate to recover from the devastating damage caused by Hurricane Ike is due in large to her bend-but-don’t-break faith, which had ultimately given way to her organizing Home Staging Lens.

A progressive, resourceful business she started while collaborating with Kevin Peterson of Zilla Builders, LLC, these entrepreneurs had eventually incorporated Dr. Taylor’s lofty ideas, thus bringing her vision to life.

The rest, as they say, was history.

Having made landfall on September 13, 2008, Hurricane Ike was a powerful tropical cyclone that swept through portions of the Greater Antilles and Northern America, wreaking havoc on infrastructure and agriculture, most notably in Cuba and Texas.

“Zilla Builders liked her work so much, they subcontracted the design work to her and used her home as a model to woo other potential customers,” said a spokesperson for Home Staging Lens in a detailed synopsis of this venture at http://www.homestaginglens.com. “This partnership was very lucrative.”

Since the startup of Home Staging Lens, Dr. Taylor has enjoyed an array of sustained success.

This, much to her delight, is indicative of how God could miraculously turn tragedies into much-anticipated triumphs.

BUT GOD — Still, despite a natural disaster that strengthened to a peak intensity as a Category 4 and claimed at least 195 lives, Dr. Taylor somehow managed to discover a silver lining to such a life changing occurrence.

“I turned a bedroom into a walk-in luxury closet with pedestal dresser, shelving for shoes, boots, belts, jewelry, display cabinets, and garment casings,” said Dr. Taylor, recalling some of her grandest highlights as the face of Home Staging Lens. “I remodeled my game room into a three-tier media room, equipped with starlight ceiling, surround sound, a theatre room reclining chair, a theatre room columns, and built my TV, lighting, and speakers in the walls. I laid wood flooring throughout the house with the exception of the bedrooms and bathrooms.”

When asked what she likes mostly about her business, Dr. Taylor said, “It brings out my creativity. I like the transformation and the awareness in the eyes of my clients during the makeover reveal.”

Now we know why, especially amid September 13, 2008, the day that changed her life.

For practically the rest of her life.

Louisiana author Brenda Robinson obeys God’s Voice, savors her new book come to pass

MAKING HEADLINE NEWS WELCOMES BRENDA RAY ROBINSON

For Brenda Ray Robinson, her much-anticipated breakthrough came wrapped up in a spiritual confession, of sorts.

“God spoke to me through my healing process three years ago, but I ignored His voice,” Robinson, during an interview this week with Making Headline News, said, recalling the pivotal and memorable events that had ultimately given way to her having delved off into the competitive world of authorship. “I was hurt and shame. I didn’t want the world to know my business.”

What Robinson had eventually discovered, meanwhile, was that God wasn’t merely commanding that she tell all of her personal business.

WOMAN THOU ART LOOSED — And so it came to pass in December 2017 that Brenda Ray Robinson, a Shreveport, Louisiana-based author had witnessed the ceremonious release of her book entitled, “A Grace Filled Marriage: Marriage On A Mission.”

Rather, His strategic plan for her was that she devise ways to help advance the kingdom through her assortment of emotionally-driven and awe-inspiring testimonies.

And so it came to pass in December 2017 that Robinson, a Shreveport, Louisiana-based author, had witnessed the ceremonious release of her book entitled, “A Grace Filled Marriage: Marriage On A Mission.”

“It was enough that the few people knew (of my trying situation), but not the world,” Robinson said. “God told me to write and He will heal me.”

And just as He always does, God did just that.

BUY BRENDA ROBINSON’S BOOK HERE: https://www.amazon.com/Grace-Filled-Marriage-Mission/dp/1982061413

A book that is comprised of 98 pages in length, Robinson’s “A Grace Filled Marriage: Marriage On A Mission” is designed in large part to help encourage and equip couples to overcome the issues in their marriage, as mentioned in a synopsis of the book at Amazon.com.

Credit Robinson for having finally stepping aside and letting God be God.

“God told me He will prepare me for the purpose (of my book),” Robinson said. “I kept on writing and listening to sermons on marriage and infidelity.”

As time progressed, coupled with Robinson’s fervent act of obedience, God’s steadfastly began to heal and mature and, much to her delight, He began to bless her mightily for such a time as now.

Never mind that during extended period of time, she still managed to harbor a spirit of hardheadedness.

IF GOD SAID IT, THAT SETTLES IT — The very moment Robinson had effectively elected to follow God’s instructions, that essentially jump-started what has undoubtedly transformed into a much-anticipated harvest season.

“I still said, ‘Oh no, I won’t do it,’” Robinson said. “It took me two years to finally obey God’s voice. God said, ‘Didn’t I tell you everything will be okay and to have the book out by 201(7)?’ God told me to take the 7 out of 17 and that meant completion and 201(8) will be new beginning.”

And the rest, as they say, was history.

The very moment Robinson had effectively elected to follow God’s instructions, that essentially jump-started what has undoubtedly transformed into a much-anticipated harvest season.

Credit her for having finally stepping aside and letting God be God.

TEARS OF JOY — For Louisiana author and businesswoman Brenda Ray Robinson, her much-anticipated breakthrough came wrapped up in a spiritual confession, of sorts.

“God will never leave nor forsake you,” said Robinson, uttering the familiar, yet powerful words that make up Deuteronomy 31:6. “We have to know Gods voice and obey. Everything happens for a reason and a season. You have to go through the process to get to the purpose.”

To her credit, coupled with the divine calling on her life, Robinson has appropriately discovered her purpose amid arguably the most tumultuous season of her life.

A book that is comprised of 98 pages in length, Robinson’s “A Grace Filled Marriage: Marriage On A Mission” is designed in large part to help encourage and equip couples to overcome the issues in their marriage, as mentioned in a synopsis of the book at Amazon.com.

“Through the power of forgiveness and the rekindling of passion and purpose in marriage, they are confident that marriages can survive anything through the word of God and that passion can be restored,” said an Amazon.com spokesperson for Robinson’s “A Grace Filled Marriage: Marriage On A Mission.”

Since the release of her new book, Robinson has become the beneficiary of as assortment of rave reviews.

OH TASTE AND SEE — To her credit, coupled with the divine calling on her life, Robinson has appropriately discovered her purpose amid arguably the most tumultuous season of her life.

Thank God she was determined to possess a breakthrough even when reaping a breakthrough seemed very much farfetched.

“I wanted to let go, but God said, ‘No, I got you,’” Robinson recalled. “God said, ‘I will bless you and your way will be smooth.’ God let me know that He will comfort me and give me the strength to carry out this task so (my husband and I) can be a blessing to help other marriages and relationships heal.

“God gave me the title alone with the chapters that will fit my story and help heal hearts.”

Yep. That’s just like God, always providing for His people a way of escape.

Credit Robinson for having finally stepping aside and letting God be God.

MAJOR CAREER MILESTONE — In May 2018, Rhodes witnessed the much-anticipated release of her first book entitled, “The Nurse Echelon: A Victorious Nurse Anthology.”

For Rhodes, who currently resides in Tampa, her well-publicized track record as an RN has been nothing short of remarkable.

That’s because aside from customarily caring for and tending to those who are in dire need of medical help, Rhodes can be appropriately deemed a woman of many hats, considering she is a gifted author and public speaker.

In May 2018, Rhodes witnessed the much-anticipated release of her first book entitled, “The Nurse Echelon: A Victorious Nurse Anthology.”

Comprised of 220 pages, Rhodes’ “The Nurse Echelon: A Victorious Nurse Anthology” is centered mostly on the spiritually-enhancing subject that is victory, most notably how victory has been commonly defined as what she describes as the overcoming of an enemy or antagonist.

“In life, many of us have had to triumph over trials and tribulations to meet a particular goal in life,” said a spokesperson for Rhodes recently-released book at Amazon.com. “Those who do not allow hardships to defeat them have been known as overcomers. When it comes to becoming a nurse or enduring a nursing career, it is known that the schooling is rigorous, the work is tough, the shifts are long and there are some nights that we cannot sleep due to thinking about the shift before. This anthology was created to inspire women, nurses and future nurses to not give up when hard times come. You see, after the rain comes the sunshine.”

A pretty empowering synopsis of a scintillating written document that will be on display when Rhodes hosts her fourth book signing, this time on Saturday, October 20 at a Tampa-area Barnes And Noble.

“We’ll also be launching my 2nd Annual Nurses Book Drop, (during which) I (introduce) 10 nurses as authors,” Rhodes said. “Last year’s event was a huge success.”

A coaching business that went into full operations in November 2016, Rhodes emphasized, among other things, that her sustained success has come to fruition, courtesy of her fervent desire to esteem and inspire others daily.

Interestingly, in May 2019, she will be empowering women in Paris, France along with internationally-acclaimed speaker, Cheryl Wood.

“Having stayed the course and achieved my own dreams, I find joy in helping others attain theirs as well,” Rhodes said.

Now we know why she’s fully aware of the purpose for which God has created her.

TEXAS SIZE DEVELOPMENTAccording Houston businessman Derrell Noris, a former Corporate America professional, Fresh Tech Solutionz on August 13 assembled what is known as the ‘GHBC Mobile App,’ a development that had ultimately given way to the app being officially published at the beginning of October.
“We would love to create similar mobile apps for other Chambers of Commerce around the world,” Noris told Making Headline News this week, adding that consumers can now download the ‘GHBC Mobile App’ from their Apple App store or at Google Playstore. Amongst the reasons Noris’ partnership with GHBC is especially vital is that GHBC officials requested that the mobile app be assembled so that it could be available for Apple and Android, a trend that will allow users to join the chamber, view the GHBC’s up-to-date events, search the GHBC business directory, view current job openings, connect with GHBC social media pages, view business opportunities, and even donate to the GHBC.

KNOWLEDGE IS POWER — Formed in September 1935, several prominent community leaders organized the Houston Negro Chamber of Commerce (or HNCC at the time) to empower and promote African-American businesses in the city. By and large, they focused on encouraging business within the African-American community. However, in 1964, under the leadership of Mack H. Hannah, Jr., the chamber changed its name to the Houston Citizens Chamber Of Commerce (or HCCC). Interestingly, even as the Chamber membership expanded mightily, it wasn’t until 2013 that the chamber rebranded its look, thus naming its institution the Greater Houston Black Chamber of Commerce (or GHBC).

As for the newly-established GHBC app, Noris and his team are confident that it will benefit this organization for years to come. “This will be a better way to connect to members,” Noris explained. “They will be able to send push notifications instead of sending emails to notify users of important announcements and upcoming events.”

VOTE NOW: Mid-South model Kimberly Thompson needing votes, making a serious run for Ink Magazine’s cover

MAKING HEADLINE NEWS WELCOMES KIMBERLY THOMPSON

Mid-South-area model Kimberly Thompson took time Friday morning to address the media in her quest to emerge victorious, thus come away with a pretty notable and commendable honor.

“Regardless of the outcome of this contest, I truly already feel like a winner,” Thompson told Making Headline News.

Still, credit Thompson for essentially having adopted a winning feeling as she vies for being named the cover tattoo model for Ink Magazine.

VOTE FOR KIMBERLY THOMPSON HERE: https://inkedcover.com/2018/kimberly-glass

SHE NEEDS YOUR VOTE — Credit Jackson, Mississippi native Kimberly Thompson for essentially having adopted a winning feeling as she vies for being named the cover tattoo model for Ink Magazine.

A publication that is widely known as a destination to find creative tattoo ideas, the best tattoo artists, photos, and videos of tattooed models, and news on tattooed celebrities, Thompson is overwhelmingly enthralled that she’s in the running to win a contest that could very well provide her the essential global exposure she needs in what undoubtedly is a competitive industry.

“Modeling is a career that I have always dreamed of doing,” Thompson explained. “It wasn’t until recently that I made up my mind to take the chance to pursue it.”

For Thompson, a licensed practical nurse whose career spans more than 16 years, one would be hard-pressed to realize that she’s essentially a newcomer to such popular industry.

TURNING HEADS — A publication that is widely known as a destination to find creative tattoo ideas, the best tattoo artists, photos, and videos of tattooed models, and news on tattooed celebrities, Thompson is overwhelmingly enthralled that she’s in the running to win a contest that could very well provide her the essential exposure she needs in what undoubtedly is a competitive industry.

For starters, she’s clinging to an impressive third place spot in her selected group, one that is comprised of more than 60 participants, which is good enough to advance her to the pivotal second round.

“In order for me to stay in this competition, I have to find ways to increase my votes,” Thompson said without hesitation, yet with such great optimism.

The second round of voting is currently taking place and ends October 9.

If Thompson advances to the third round, she will have emerged as one of 20 models who will still be alive to grace the front cover of Ink.

SO FAR, SO GOOD — Thompson is clinging to an impressive third place in her selected group that is comprised of more than 60 participants, which is good enough to advance her to the pivotal second round.

Only 10 contestants will advance to the fourth round, something Thompson is hopeful she manages to pull off.

Of course, she will need some much-needed help — and votes — from those who have supported her since she elected to delve off into modeling, since she had finally come to grips with the notion that maybe, just maybe she can enjoy a pretty amazing career in this industry.

“You can sometimes be your own worst enemy by putting limitations on yourself. I am just realizing that this was something that I was doing to myself. I have come to the realization that life is what you make it. The mind is a powerful thing.” — Professional Model Kimberly Thompson

For what it’s worth, that she has already staged an impressive showing in the Ink Magazine contest is a testament of her overall body of work in such a brief timeframe as model.

MAKING MUCH NOISE — For Thompson if she happens to wound up gracing the cover of Ink Magazine as its featured model, not only would it prove to be arguably one of the biggest wins of her life but, most importantly, it would serve as a pivotal reminder that it is never too late to pursue even the largest of dreams.

“Everyone in life will have a story to tell,” said Thompson, who holds an Associate Degree in Science from Holmes Community College and an RN Associate Degree from Meridian Community College. “As you get older, you began to realize that you never stop learning or striving for something in life. I will never stop striving to better myself.

“The most important testament I have learned is to love all of me,” Thompson added. “This includes my flaws as well as my imperfections. Many of us are scared to have imperfections. But imperfections are used to make you the person you are meant to be. It is a game changer.”

NEW MODEL ON THE BLOCK — For Thompson, a licensed practical nurse whose career spans more than 16 years, one would be hard-press to realize that she’s essentially a newcomer to such popular industry.

For Thompson, a native of Jackson, Mississippi, if she happens to wound up gracing the cover of Ink Magazine as its featured model, not only would it prove to be arguably one of the biggest wins of her life but, most importantly, it would serve as a pivotal reminder that it is never too late to pursue even the largest of dreams.

“Going on age 40, I am starting a new beginning in my life,” Thompson said. A life filled with no walls and limitless possibilities. My phoenix tattoo is a representation of my rebirth. I will continue to rise through the ashes and make my dreams a reality.”

Regardless of the outcome of this contest.

In the meantime, she’s still very much in the running.

So go vote.
