Mississippi author Nika Collins’ new book producing unprecedented sales since its release

Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 2:5 KJV)

SEASON OF THE REBIRTH

DESTINY STEPS — A native of Water Valley — a rural Yalobusha County, Mississippi establishment of roughly 3,392 residents, according to the latest U. S. census — Nika Collins is the mastermind behind the book entitled, “Battle Of The Mind.”

DALLAS — What undoubtedly was one of the darkest, most tumultuous seasons of Nika Collins’ life, by all accounts, is what impressed it upon the heart of God to catapult her to divine purpose.

“God gave me a vision to start writing this book in 2017 after my mom was suddenly struck with a massive stroke,” Collins told Making Headline News this week during an interview from Mississippi. “And I was able to witness God work miracle.”
Much to her delight, it was a God-orchestrated miracle for the ages, an awe-inspiring development that had ultimately given way to Collins taking massive leap of faith, a step that had come wrapped up in a spiritually-empowering book.

A book that’s also available for purchase at Barnes And Noble and Book A Million online, Collins is impressed by the early success of her first published document.

A remarkably compelling written work that was recently released on Collins’ birthday on January 10, “Battle Of The Mind” is a spiritually-gut-checking book that figures to leave readers completely in awe of God’s majestic glory and favor and mercy.

“Some days, the will to continue fighting this battle may feel impossible,” said a spokesperson for Collins’ book at Amazom.com. “There are countless circumstances that leave us feeling powerless. But in those very moments, what seems like a hindrance or threat to our lives, may be the platform God uses for His Glory to be displayed through us.”

“I give raw testimonies of how I was able to make it through by trusting God’s promises,” said Collins, adding that her husband, Malcolm, and a host of friends and well-wishers are amongst those who have aided her mightily during her authorship journey. “I also talk about my experiences with deciding to see a therapist this year…one of the best choices I could have ever made.”

Every now and then, it seems, when our faith is being and tried and tested, we tend to indirectly call out God, the Giver of life, our Waymaker, our Present Help in times of trouble, if you will.

“As we stumble along, we often wonder, ‘Where is God?’ an Amazon spokesperson said while disclosing a detailed synopsis of Collins’ book. “Why is He allowing me to go through this? We feel stuck and broken. The reality is, however, that God does His best work in our darkness, and whatever journey God begins in your life and heart, He promises to finish in His perfect timing.”

Without question, Collins reiterated that other books are forthcoming, much sooner than later.

In a nutshell, Collins stressed that she felt compelled to assemble “Battle Of The Mind,” in large part because of her own once downtrodden experiences with depression anxiety.

But God…

“After dealing with that, I was faced with so many other different obstacles and the enemy tried to attack my mind as I continued to fight all these different battles that were coming up against me,” Collins explained.

A book that is comprised of 74 pages in length, Collins said the feedback since her project’s release has been nothing short of remarkable.

Yep. That’s just like God, His usual reliable Self, strategically stepping in and providing for us a way of escape.

Without question, Collins reiterated that other books are forthcoming, much sooner than later.

Because, after all, she doesn’t shy away from the notion that if God has brought her out before, His track record is such that He will undoubtedly allow history to repeat itself.

“This book is just one of many,” Collins said without hesitation. “I Thank God for all the feedback that I have gotten.”

Accomplished Texas Businessman/Minister Andrew Landry named Making Headline News 2019 Man of The Year

A Song of degrees of David. Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! (Psalm 133:1 KJV)

GOD’S GAME CHANGER

MAKING A DIFFERENCE — Much to delight, Andrew Landry’s valiant efforts and contributions through his ministry are amongst the reasons he has been named Making Headline News Man of The Year for 2019, edging out three other nominees across the country who were considered for this honor by the publication’s editorial staff.

It doesn’t take much to get Katrina Landry to strike up a spirited conversation about her husband, Andrew Landry.

A couple who are closing in on seven years of marriage on January 19, amongst the things about which Katrina finds intriguing when it comes her beloved companion is how he steadfastly goes and above and beyond to exemplify having a heart for people.
“The sky is the limit because, he’s got a helper’s heart,” Katrina said of husband’s tireless contributions to his community and the Body of Christ. “He continues to find ways to help others financially and mentally, and offer support day in and day out. His heart holds the sky’s limits, because it is so open.”
It is, by all accounts, because of Andrew’s servant’s heart, coupled with his keen compassion for people from various walks of life that have greatly enabled him to thrive in his strategic ministry as the founder and chief executive officer of the Where Men Hurt organization.
Much to delight, Andrew’s valiant efforts and contributions through his ministry are amongst the reasons he has been named Making Headline News Man of The Year for 2019, edging out three other nominees across the country who were considered for this honor by the publication’s editorial staff.

MORE ON WHERE MEN HURT: https://wheremenhurt.org/

Landry’s Where Men Hurt ministry has become a fixture in the Humble, Texas community, mostly notably because of its periodic meetings at Master Barbers Headquarters, located 1502 East First Street, during which men assemble to discuss a variety of pertinent subjects and real life issues.

For Andrew, his latest achievement, his wife emphasized, is a true testament of his kingdom-based work ethic.

Landry’s Where Men Hurt ministry has become a fixture in the Humble, Texas community, mostly notably because of its periodic meetings at Master Barbers Headquarters, located 1502 East First Street, during which men assemble to discuss a variety of pertinent subjects and real life issues.

Landry, in fact, was responsible for hosting his inaugural Where Men Hurt Conference, a one-day, spiritual empowerment assembly was centered largely on equipping the total man to become all that God has predestined him to be.

A couple who are closing in on seven years of marriage on January 19, amongst the things about which Katrina finds intriguing about her beloved companion is how he steadfastly goes and above and beyond to exemplify having a heart for people.

A power-packed, informative men’s conference that is powered by Mr. Landry Enterprises, the Where Men Hurt event was highlighted by all-star lineup of a half dozen speakers. The conference also offered panel discussions and included food trucks and vendor booths.

“Exceptionally amazing,” Landry said after learning of being named MHN Man of The Year. “In complete awe of the vision that God has for me to carry out. Other than God, my wife, Katrina Landry, has been by my side for each speaking engagements, book tour events, and countless late nights waiting for me to finish the task that come with this calling.”

Katrina, in fact, doesn’t shy away from the notion that her husband’s immeasurable gifts to the Body of Christ are second to none, something he admittedly doesn’t take lightly.

“He has been very instrumental in Where Men Hurt,” said Katrina, the owner and chief executive officer of Renewed Hope Counseling Center in Humble. “He has a heart to help others and this organization is a great avenue for him to do so. He sacrifices time, sleep, and money into not just the organization, but to the men who are involved in it.”

Interestingly, Andrew is widely known as an accomplished author.

A devout man a faith and minister, Landry witnessed the release of his second book in 2019.

His latest written work, “After the Violation: A Comprehensive Guide to Healing After Being Sexually Mishandled,” is a spiritually-empowering project that was officially released during his recent conference.

A book that is comprised of 77 pages in length, Landry’s “After the Violation: A Comprehensive Guide to Healing After Being Sexually Mishandled” is widely regarded as a guide for healing, particularly for those who have been sexually mishandled, according to a detailed synopsis of this Humble, Texas-based author’s book at Amazon.com.

Landry’s latest written work was released approximately 17 months after having witnessed his authorship debut come full circle with the release of “Overcoming The Addiction That No One Has.”

“I have far exceeded any idea of where I thought my life would be,” said Landry, trying his best to assess his achievements in 2019. “There are so many moving pieces when one is trying to build great foundational groundwork to something bigger than themselves. I have been blessed to have the right people in the right places at the right time to move forward with anticipation of the wonderful things God will allow to happen with this vision He has given me.”

By and large, it is in large part because of Landry’s awe-inspiring vision as a beloved ambassador for Christ that his wife emphasized the importance of giving him his flowers while he yet is blessed with breath in his body.

Katrina, in fact, doesn’t shy away from the notion that her husband’s immeasurable gifts to the Body of Christ are second to none, something he admittedly doesn’t take lightly.

“I am so happy and proud of him for all of his accomplishments,” Katrina Landry said in paying homage to her husband. “It is an honor and a joy to watch him work and I am grateful that he is given his roses while he is here. I honor him, his work, and his heart. May this award reminds him of how great he is and encourage him that he is affecting lives.”

With God, his Helper, steering the way.

Talk about a memorable 2019.

BUY SHIRLEY’S BOOK: Mid-South author Shirley Hentz’s spiritually-empowering book is as good as advertised

For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. (Romans 8:18 KJV)

FAITH ON TRIAL

GOD’S LEADING LADY — A native of Coffeeville, Mississippi, Shirley Hentz is the mastermind behind the book entitled, “Unless You Believe: 20 Days Of Devotion, Faith, And Proclamation.”

Are you presently enduring unfavorable situations and circumstances that is trying and testing your faith?

Well, Shirley Hentz’s got good news for you.
“My test of faith can be a testimony to someone else that going through different seasons of life to keep believing and keep the faith you can achieve obstacles,” Hentz says without hesitation.
So can yours, as Hentz vividly explained during an interview this week with Making Headline News.
A native of Coffeeville, Mississippi, Hentz is the mastermind behind the book entitled, “Unless You Believe: 20 Days Of Devotion, Faith, And Proclamation.”
A spiritually-empowering written work Hentz began composing sometime in 2015, this Mid-South-area Christian-based author needed somewhere in the neighborhood of three years to assemble a book that is shaping up to become a fixture in the Body of Christ.

BUY AUTHOR HENTZ’S BOOK HERE: https://www.amazon.com/Unless-You-Believe-Devotion-Proclamation/dp/1532398360

A book that is comprised of 119 pages in length, Hentz’s “Unless You Believe: 20 Days Of Devotion, Faith, And Proclamation” was officially released on December 10, 2018.

To her credit, it has been as good as advertised in its brief time on the market.

For Hentz, a devout woman of faith, “Unless You Believe: 20 Days Of Devotion, Faith, And Proclamation” is testament of her immeasurable faith walk, coupled with the divine purpose for which she was created.

More than anything, she acknowledged, her newly-assembled book has emerged as a motivational tool for individuals from various walks of life, notably those who are in dire need some spiritual relief.

With No. 2 currently in the works, Hentz said the feedback she’s garnered since the release of her first book has been overwhelmingly favorable, as expected.

“Trouble was never design to last forever,” Hentz said while referring to a few Biblical passages to support her notions. “It may be cloudy now, but the sun is going to shine again. Every day, God gives us his daily bread. Every day, He gives us a measure of grace. God said His grace is sufficient and that weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning. Weeping must go. Weeping and joy can not stay in the same house. We must stay focused. Unless you believe that faith is the substance of things hope for and the evidence of things not seen…unless you believe that you are more than a conqueror if when it do not look like it…we walk by faith and not by sight.”

Moreover, as mentioned to Making Headline News, Hentz emphasized, by all accounts, that it is very seldom that we are afforded the chance to delay — or restrict — the storms that God allows to erupt in our lives.

As mentioned in a detailed introduction at Amazom.com, Hentz emphasized, by all accounts, that it is very seldom that we are given the chance to stop and process, especially what this author refers to as the “many ups and downs.”

With No. 2 currently in the works, Hentz said the feedback she’s garnered since the release of her first book has been overwhelmingly favorable, as expected.

“The feedback has been, ‘Wow! God Wow! To God be the glory! Amazing! Thank you Father for grace and mercy,” Hentz said. “It has been a life changing experience for some and for others. It has enhanced their walk with Christ in life to be authentic.”

All of which practically sums up why Hentz doesn’t shy away from the notion that, well, when all else fails, we must seek and consult God Almighty for a divine sense of direction.

A book that is comprised of 119 pages in length, Hentz’s “Unless You Believe: 20 Days Of Devotion, Faith, And Proclamation” was officially released on December 10, 2018.

“(We must) proclaim the Word of God to the world,” Hentz says without hesitation.

Fortunately for Hentz, her book has given way to her having acquired a great deal of exposure through the media, a trend that included appearances on White Dove WKRA 92.7 FM “The Change” in nearby Holly Springs, Mississippi.

She’s also appeared on Memphis’ WMCTV 5’s “Bluff City Life” which is hosted by Janeen Gordon, as well as The Inspirational Channel 24, the Tammie Tubbs Show on Christian Television Network Channel 49 in nearby Tupelo, and Memphis WDIA 1070 AM’s The Beverly Johnson Show.

A spiritually-empowering written work Hentz began composing sometime in 2015, this Mid-South-area Christian-based author needed somewhere in the neighborhood of three years to assemble a book that is shaping up to become a fixture in the Body of Christ.

Also, Hentz spoke at the Book Club of Oxford, as well as Bring It To The Table, and she’s hosted a book signing at Water Valley’s Fountain Square.

“I want more of God and less of me,” Hentz said. “I want to live intentional on purpose in faith, love, and expectancy.”

All the while standing on the Word of God in the process.

“My test of faith can be a testimony to someone else that going through different seasons of life to keep believing and keep the faith you can achieve obstacles,” Hentz says without hesitation.

Connecticut businesswoman Tamara Mitchell-Davis announces the forthcoming release of an anthology

I will give thanks to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Wonderful are Your works, And my soul knows it very well. (Psalm 139:14 NASB)

MASSIVE KINGDOM IMPACT

DESTINY STEPS — During a recent interview with Making Headline News, Connecticut businesswoman Tamara Mitchell-Davis announced a rather intriguing and awe-inspiring project that will center largely on an anthology.

Much to her delight, God is steadfastly using Tamara Mitchell-Davis for His glory.

Consider, for instance, the immeasurable strides she’s making as the CEO of TM Davis Enterprise LLC.
During a recent interview with Making Headline News, Mitchell-Davis announced a rather intriguing and awe-inspiring project that will center largely on an anthology.
As Mitchell-Davis explained, the forthcoming anthology will feature an assortment of stories involving 12 women, most notably married individuals.
“(These) stories (will address) resiliency, specifically to self, marriage and business,” said Mitchell-Davis, adding that roughly a half dozen slots are available for the anthology and that those who are interested, can acquire additional information by contacting her via email at tmdavis860@gmail.com.

MORE ON TAMARA MITCHELL-DAVIS: https://www.theceowife.com/

“I am a wife, mom, and business owner myself,” Mitchell-Davis continued. “As a wife, I have my own goals and dreams to pursue and I don’t have to put them on hold or dismiss them, because of life challenges and obstacles. I want other women to be inspired by the stories they read and hear.  We are more alike than we are different.”

With only a few vacancies to fill for anthology, Mitchell-Davis said the projected release date for her upcoming project is May 2020.

“The only requirement is to write one chapter to the book and the rest is handled,” Mitchell-Davis said. “You can be recognized as a published author and build from it just by contributing your own story to the book collaboration project.”

Based in Hartford, Connecticut, Mitchell-Davis has become a fixture in the ever-so-competitive world of authorship, considering she has emerged as an award-winning and best-selling writer, all the while functioning as a full-time administrator and adjunct business professor.

The Chief Executive Officer for the Writers Academy for Women, Mitchell-Davis in 2017 witnessed her authorship tenure come full circle, courtesy of her first written work entitled, “GoalGetter: Strategies To Overcome Life’s Challenges.”

A book that is accompanied by 166 pages and was officially released on September 20, 2018, Mitchell-Davis’ “GoalGetter: Strategies To Overcome Life’s Challenges” appropriately reveals three pertinent reasons people customarily don’t achieve their goals, as mentioned in a detailed introduction at Amazon.com.

Interestingly, she’s also the mastermind behind “Goodbye Fear, Hello Destiny,” a spiritually-empowering and life-changing project that made its ceremonious release in 2018 with the foreword written by Joelle Murchison, the CEO of ExecMommy Group.

When asked what inspired her to jumpstart such a project, Mitchell-Davis referenced whom she described as women who admittedly have “lost themselves” while fulfilling their daily obligations as a mother, wife and entrepreneur.

“They made everything else a priority except themselves,” Mitchell-Davis said.

Now, she said, the time has come that these devout women of faith abstain from allowing fear to hold them back for walking in the purpose for which God created them.

As Mitchell-Davis explained, the forthcoming anthology will feature an assortment of stories involving 12 women, most notably married individuals.

“There are so many opportunities available in this industry as a published author,” Mitchell-Davis said. “With my book collaboration project, in addition to being recognized as a published author, you will receive free training and have access to industry experts. It really is a win-win situation.”

Having recently served as a panelist during a local New Year’s Day women’s empowerment brunch, Mitchell-Davis figures to engage in what is shaping up to be a busy and fruitful first quarter of 2020.

Mitchell-Davis announced that plans are in the works to host a virtual summit and a local workshop at a date that has yet to be decided.

“The book release’s tentative date is May 2020, and I have more in store for that to include the book release celebration,” Mitchell-Davis said. “I am excited and looking forward to the journey and the experience.  This is only the beginning.”

Based in Hartford, Connecticut, Mitchell-Davis has become a fixture in the ever-so-competitive world of authorship, considering she has emerged as an award-winning and best-selling writer, all the while functioning as a full-time administrator and adjunct business professor.

Mid-South businesswoman Melinda Walker’s fortifying her God-mandated vision through ‘Comfortable In One’s Own Skin’

Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves. (Philippians 2:3 NIV)

GOD’S GAME CHANGER

CHILL MODE — For Melinda Walker, a Mid-South-area businesswoman who resides in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, she deems it essential to customarily issue what she describes as a notable reminder, particularly through her endeavor as the Project Supervisor and CEO of Comfortable In One’s Own Skin.

Melinda Walker would like to issue a rather direct message to other women.

“I want women not to be afraid to tell their truth and stand in it,” Walker, during a recent interview with Making Headline News, said, explaining in detail her latest business venture. “We can’t heal what we won’t confront.”
For Walker, a Mid-South-area businesswoman who resides in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, she deems it essential to customarily issue what she describes as a notable reminder, particularly through her endeavor as the Project Supervisor and CEO of Comfortable In One’s Own Skin.
A venture she established a little more than three years ago, Walker’s Comfortable In One’s Own Skin is centered largely on her wealth of experience as a ghost writer, one whose strategic emphasis includes — but isn’t limited to — compiling anthologies and giving women opportunities to tell their truths and stand in it.
“I also ghost write for those individuals who have a story, but need vision and personality added to bring life to their vision as the vision pusher,” Walker explained. “I write complete books for those who need full assistance. I also coach those who may need assistance with titles, brand names, and anything concerning writing.”

MORE ON MELINDA’S ENDEAVOR: https://www.comfortableinonesownskin.com/

A licensed evangelist, Walker’s stellar gifts as a writer has given way to her having evolved as an accomplished author.

A native of Bogalusa, Louisiana, Walker is the mastermind behind the book entitled, “Right When The Caterpillar Thought Her Life Was Over, She Became A Butterfly.”

A book that is comprised of 235 pages and is nearly two months removed from its ceremoniously release, Walker’s “Right When The Caterpillar Thought Her Life Was Over, She Became A Butterfly” recalls specifically how godly women often experience situations and hardships in life, causing them to go into their shell and run from life, as mentioned in a detailed introduction at Amazon.com.

Interestingly, Walker’s “Right When The Caterpillar Thought Her Life Was Over, She Became A Butterfly” is an intriguing anthology that is comprised of more than 10 women, each of whom have deemed it essential to join forces and share of their respective testimonies, many of which were mired by heartache, pain, abuse, rejection, abandonment, not to mention the appropriate steps in how they were blessed to overcome them.

“When I started compiling the anthologies, the opportunity presented itself to help those women who have powerful testimonies but didn’t know how to put their thoughts on paper,” said Walker, explaining the divine purpose for which her business venture was established. “This gave me a passion to ghost write for them. I was presented with an entire book and that propelled me into completing an entire writing project in less than 90 days. This was the start of my passion to ghost write for others.”

And the rest, as they say, was history.

Much to her delight, Walker has gone to great lengths to enhance and promote Comfortable In One’s Own Skin, a trend that has greatly fueled the desire of other women of empowerment to follow suit, thus buy into her awe-inspiring vision.

“I like the idea of me doing what I love, fulfilling my God given purpose and getting paid to do it,” said Walker, whose venture accommodates individuals ranging mostly in ages 25 to 65. “I’ve been able to travel to California, Florida, Texas and Georgia. My heart desire is to take my passion internationally one day.”

Given the immeasurable strides she made since the inception of Comfortable In One’s Own Skin, it’s safe to assume she’s well on her way to savoring global success through her thriving and progressive business venture.

“To be honest, I absolutely love Oprah,” Walker said. “She inspired me years ago how she would talk about tough issues on her show, but she allowed people to get free from the pain of their past as well as herself.”

Interestingly, Walker’s spiritual father, Pastor Jessie Holloway, has played an integral role in her success, she acknowledged.

“He has taught me how to go through many valleys of death but he taught me to fear no evil because God was with me,” Walker said of Holloway. “He raised me to be transparent and always (helped me to realize that) God will turn my mess into a message one day. He always told me, ‘Lynn, God will use everything you’ve been through for purpose and for his glory.’ He said as God bless you, be a blessing. That’s what my mission is…to be a blessing to others.”

To her distinctly unique credit, she’s doing just that.

DALLAS — Ever since he’s made his NBA coming out party last season, Dallas Mavericks star Luka Dončić has been the beneficiary of a slew of accolades and figurative pats on the back.

Especially from arguably the best basketball player on the planet.
Three-time NBA champion and four-time league MVP LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers has been especially complementary of Dončić, the Mavericks’ prized swingman, who’s been as good as advertised since he made the transition from the EuroLeague to U. S. soil following the 2018 campaign.
Having been dubbed the best 20-year-old player in NBA history behind James — who entered the NBA at 18 years of age — all Dončić has done since being anointed NBA Rookie of The Year last season is pick up where he left off.
PLAYOFF PREVIEW? (Getty Images Photo)

The 6-foot-7 Slovenian’s 29.6 points per game is third best in the NBA behind Houston’s James Harden (38.5) and Milwaukee’s Giannis Antetokounmpo, the league’s reigning MVP.

Add to the fact that Dončić’s display undoubtedly has given way to the Mavs having become one of the NBA’s biggest surprises this season, and it’s no wonder the greatest player of this generation deems it essential to often give props to a youngster, who’s already assumed the superstar label, a feat he’s emphatically cemented less than one year removed from the ceremonious retirement of Mavs great Dirk Nowitzki.

Much to the delight of Dončić, James is certainly a fan of the NBA sophomore sensation.

“He’s a great, young talent,” James told Making Headline News during a recent interview. “I love his game. He has the ability to not only create shots for himself, but I love the fact that he can get great looks for his team.”

It is, by all accounts, because of Dončić’s remarkable play, coupled with last year’s midseason acquisition of Kristaps Porziņģis, that Dallas will be vying for a playoff spot between now and season’s end.

Heading into Friday night’s nationally-televised showdown against the first place Lakers at the American Airlines Center (8:45 CST on ESPN) in what appears to be a potential playoff preview, the Mavericks (23-14) are currently sixth in the Western Conference standings, having amassed eight more wins than last season after 27 games.

MAKING NOISE — Having been dubbed the best 20-year-old player in NBA history behind James — who entered the NBA at 18 years of age — all Dončić has done since being anointed NBA Rookie of The Year last season is pick up where he left off.

“They’re a competitive team with KP (Kristaps Porziņģis) and Luka with (Maxi) Kleber, (Dorian) Finney-Smith, and Seth (Curry) and those guys they have around him,” James said of a Dallas team that has dropped two of three meetings with the Lakers this season. “They play fast. They shoot a lot of threes and push the tempo to keep you off balance. (Mavs coach Rick) Carlisle’s team has always been well-coached.”

Said fellow Lakers superstar Anthony Davis in assessing the resurgence a Mavs team that’s looking to snap a four-year playoff drought: “They’re a very good team. They’re a playoff team. Their cornerstone is KP and Luka with a great supporting cast around them.”

While James has praised the way the Mavs’ leader has gone about adjusting to life as one of the NBA’s young bright stars, Dončić, on the other hand, has always been equally fond of James, a 16-year veteran and 14-time All-Star.

During a game in L. A. last November, Dončić was spotted waiting outside of the Lakers’ locker room, where he received an autographed jersey signed by James.

One of James’ representatives emerged from the locker room with a signed No. 23 jersey that read “To: Luka D, God Bless and continue to #StriveForGreatness.”

All things considered, striving for greatness seems to have become a personal mantra, of sorts, for Dončić, who unquestionably has made his presence felt since he’s entered the NBA ranks.

Just like James, his biggest mentor, had done a little more than a decade-and-a-half ago as an NBA newcomer.

“That’s what I like about him,” said James, who has gone on record recently and said Dončić is the kind of player with whom he’d like to play. “He plays the game the right way.”

A pretty remarkably brilliant assessment from arguably the best basketball player on the planet.

Kenyatta Bell and Nodella Jordan named 2019 Making Headline News Women of The Year; Andrew Landry named Man of The Year

STANDING OVATION

DALLAS — For the second consecutive year, three individuals have become the recipients of Making Headline News’ most prestigious award.

Businesswomen Kenyatta Bell and Nodella Jordan have been dubbed The Necia Jones Memorial Making Headline News Women of The Year for 2019.
Texas businessman Andrew Landry was named MHN Man of The Year for 2019.
The Woman of The Year award was named in honor of Jones, an accomplished Houston-area entrepreneur who was arguably one of the publication’s most devoted contributors.
Named MHN Woman of The Year for 2018, Jones passed away on July 27, 2019 after a brief illness.

KENYATTA BELL

Bell was unanimously named MHN Woman of The Year, edging out four other women across the country who were considered for this honor by the publication’s editorial staff.

A native of Gay, Georgia, Bell is the catalyst for the Epic Management Group, an Atlanta-area ministry that was spearheaded on IHeart Radio B96.3 and is aired by way of a slew of airwaves.

Widely regarded as Epic Life Ministry, this company has also launched a social media teaching — a segment that’s collectively conducted by Epic Life staffers Gina Beverly, Danielle Sunderhouse and Corey Watts — whereby it has garnered a global audience.

A native of Gay, Georgia, Bell is the catalyst for the Epic Management Group, an Atlanta-area ministry that was spearheaded on IHeart Radio B96.3 and is aired by way of a slew of airwaves.

Interestingly, Epic Management Group has partnered with The Lighthouse Radio Station to host an array of what company officials describe as “epic life experiences,” most notably for middle and high school students.

“The uniqueness of my childhood, coupled with life experiences of my own children, want to ignite identities and empower purpose in the millennial generation,” Bell, during an August 2019 interview with Making Headline News, said, when asked how her competitive drive in life propel her for her latest business venture. “(My personal mission is to) ignite the identity and empower the purpose in others.”

While being named Woman of The Year came as a surprise to Bell, a graduate of Greenville (Georgia) High School, she paid homage mostly to her solid relationship with God, coupled with the notion that she’s been blessed to walk in her purpose as arguably the biggest reasons she’s garnered such an honor.

“This year (2019) was my year of my greatest year of EPIC growth,” Bell said. “My relationship with God has grown into a beautiful love story. My faith in God is indescribable. I fluently speak faith and my faith always trumps my reality.”

Now with yet another notable milestone about which she’s been afforded to savor, Bell doesn’t shy away from the notion that greater things are in store for her in 2020 and beyond.

“In 2020, I aspire to continue walking boldly in my EPIC life assignment and carry out God’s purpose for my life,” said Bell, adding that plans are in the works to launch Epic Life Atlanta and Epic Life Television. “Educationally, I will finish my second undergraduate degree in Operation Management and continue working on my MBA in Operation Management.”

NODELLA JORDAN

Like Bell, Jordan has made immeasurable strides as an accomplished businesswoman and licensed evangelist.

The CEO of NSJ Ministries, Jordan’s Baltimore-based endeavor is comprised largely of her assortment of awe-inspiring achievements and slew of responsibilities she’s enjoyed, particularly since God had strategically called her to ministry some two decades ago.

A native of the Bronx, New York who has resided a considerable amount of time in nearby New Haven, Connecticut, Jordan credits the fervent guidance of her father as amongst those who headlines a list of her most notable supporters.

A native of the Bronx, New York who has resided a considerable amount of time in nearby New Haven, Connecticut, Jordan credits the fervent guidance of her father as amongst those who headlines a list of her most notable supporters.

“It was my father who always told me to be the best at whatever I did,” Jordan told MHN during an August 2019 interview. “Being athletic as a youth into high school also created a competitive mindset that carried over in many areas of my life. As early as age eight years old, I braided people’s hair as a way of making money.”

Interestingly, Jordan added to her entrepreneurship repertoire the startup of Sassy & Swag Collections, her Baltimore-based online clothing and accessories brand.

A venture that went into full operations in August 2019, Jordan’s Sassy & Swag Collections is centered largely on offering consumers a wide selection of T-shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies, hats, ball caps, tote bags, notebooks, mugs, and much more. In addition, Sassy & Swag Collections offer custom-designed products for its customers and they also have the option of mixing or matching any product in its online store.

When asked how she would sum up 2019, Jordan was swift to label it as “challenging, yet rewarding.”

“(I thank God) for enduring and not giving up,” Jordan, a crafty author, said. “Each year, I create a motto of what my goal would be for the year. Here’s my motto for 2019: I’m prepared for destiny; I’m positioned for destiny; I’m propelled to my destiny.

“I believe in destiny, God-ordained or simply by living this life. We can either choose our destiny or life will choose it for you. I chose to choose it.”

As Jordan explained, her array of success in recent emerged in large part because she had made it a point to stay conscious of her divine destiny.

“Although (it was) not always clear, I work diligently to make sure I’m doing all the things it will take to get me there,” Jordan said. My second published book, (Sassy: The Perfect Life) captures the essence of my belief in destiny. Though I’ve endured some horrible things in my 51 years of life, I still had a choice to either stop pursuing destiny or pursue it with even more fervor, and that I did. Because of my pursuit for destiny, I’m able to leave a legacy for my children, grandchildren and one day great grandchildren, and hopefully to be an inspiration to others.”

ANDREW LANDRY

For Landry, 2019 undoubtedly was a banner year for the Humble, Texas businessman.

The founder and chief executive officer of the Where Men Hurt organization, Landry was responsible for hosting his inaugural Where Men Hurt Conference, a one-day, spiritual empowerment assembly was centered largely on equipping the total man to become all that God has predestined him to be.

Other than God, my wife Katrina Landry, has been by my side for each speaking engagements, book tour events, and countless late nights waiting for me to finish the task that come with this calling.”

A devout man a faith and minister, Landry witnessed the release of his second book in 2019.

His latest written work, “After the Violation: A Comprehensive Guide to Healing After Being Sexually Mishandled,” is a spiritually-empowering project that was officially released during Landry’s conference.

Dallas/Fort Worth businessman Charles Jones’ Klassy Scents high end fragrances are in high demand

TOUCH OF KLASS

YO BABY!!! A proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Charles Jones’ Klassy Scents signature colors are crimson and black. But that isn’t where the ongoing intrigue surrounding his business ends, mind you. To his credit, Jones’ Klassy Scents has become a massive thing of beauty for this young Texas minister, who’s the Founder and Senior Pastor of New Creation Fellowship Church, the flourishing ministry he organized in February 2011 amid what he described as “a deep concern” for his family, friends, and the community.

DUNCANVILLE, Texas — Charles Jones’ professional resume doesn’t just include being a successful, Dallas/Fort Worth-area Pastor.

It’s also accompanied by the title: progressive, thriving businessman.
That’s because Jones is the mastermind behind Klassy Scents, a flourishing and credible venture that was spearheaded in large part because of Jones’ passion for high end fragrances — a trend that, in turn, sparked his entrepreneurship career, according to a detailed synopsis of his business at https://klassyscents.com/.

“Quickly excelling in this endeavor, Klassy Scents has made its mark on the young as well as the older generation,” said a spokesperson for Jones’ endeavor at https://klassyscents.com/klassy-cj/.
A native of nearby Fort Worth, Texas Jones is former Texas Christian University football player whose college stint ended prematurely due to a rash of injuries.

Despite witnessing his dreams of playing college football at a high level shattered, Jones wasted little time refocusing his focus on becoming resourceful in other areas of his life.

One of those notable areas: this ever-so-competitive world of entrepreneurship.

For Jones, ever since he delved off into the entrepreneurship arena, he’s been as good as advertised.

Widely regarded as “a man of many hats,” Jones grasped a fond interest in exemplifying the importance of what he refers to as “klass,” most notably in what is becoming a popular fragrance industry.

Interestingly, Jones’ passion for what is known as “high end fragrances” is what undoubtedly has sparked his entrepreneurship concept, a development that has quickly allowed him to excel mightily in this endeavor.

Memphis author Raquel Granger’s connection with God in prison miraculously changed her life, she writes in her new book

The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. (John 10:10 KJV)

CLEARING MASSIVE HURDLES

CONQUERING ALL ODDS — A native of Memphis, Raquel Granger is the mastermind behind the spiritually-empowering book entitled, “The Day I Met Life,” a life-enhancing, emotionally-driven written document that recently made its ceremonious release.

Raquel Granger figured she’d cap off 2019 by updating her gallery of social media followers on the status of her newly-assembled book.

“I’ve been patient,” Granger on the morning of December 31 staged in a Facebook post that was accompanied by the hashtag: #I’mInThere.
Given the awe-inspiring developments surrounding her book, it’s safe to assume that #I’mInThere means this rising Mid-South author’s best and brightest days as a writer are well ahead of her.
A native of Memphis, Granger is the mastermind behind the spiritually-empowering book entitled, “The Day I Met Life,” a life-enhancing, emotionally-driven written document that recently made its ceremonious release.
Granger’s “The Day I Met Life” depicts the memorable developments in the life of a then-13-year-old girl, who was left to outlast and conquer life amid the tragic death of her mother, Brenda Faye Henry, who died after a battle with AIDS in August 1993.
“It’s a compelling story about how I struggled with sin, strongholds, and generational curses,” Granger told Making Headline News this week.

As if Granger’s mother having passed away at the tender age of 37 wasn’t enough to shatter her spiritually and mentally — and probably physically — this author had at one point in time found herself thrust within the walls of a jail cell because of some ill-advised decisions that essentially had brought her life to a streaking halt.

Fortunately for Granger, though, she had come to know God during her incarceration.

“God gave me this vision during my time in prison,” Granger explained. “In such a hard place, I learned to confess my sins…forgive myself for all I had done in my life.”

REMEMBERING BRENDA HENRY (1956-1993)
Granger’s “The Day I Met Life” depicts the memorable developments in the life of a then-13-year-old girl, who was left to outlast and conquer life amid the tragic death of her mother, Brenda Faye Henry, who died after a battle with AIDS in August 1993.

Interestingly, Granger had come to a point during her incarceration where she sensed she had no choice but to sellout completely to her Creator, a development that, in turn, had ultimately given way to her having acquired the very thing she needed the most: a new lease on life.

“In prison, I was baptized,” Granger recalled. “God not only saved me, but He also conditioned my heart to trust Him in all my ways. I was seeking God for deliverance, healing from all the pain I endured from my past.”

Much to her delight, it wasn’t until Granger had turned her life over to God that He subsequently commenced to showing her all sorts of signs and wonders, she explained.

“He used people to speak to me,” Granger said of her spiritual connection with the Lord. “After facing answered prayers that I sent up to God, then I begin to realize the promise from God would take time. I was in a hurry to get home to my children…get back to life.”

For what it’s worth, Granger emphasized her new book is dedicated exclusively to single mothers whom, like her, have struggled with the strongholds life often deals them.

“I chose to write this book to be a blessing to single mothers and young women who experienced the death of their mother or parents of with HIV or AIDS, or those who were just left without structure and guidance,” Granger said. “(This book is for) women that had to grow up fast and became a mother at an early age. “(This book is for) women who have suffered abuse from family members and men, as well as those getting tangled in toxic relationships and mental illness.”

LEADING BY EXAMPLE — For what it’s worth, Granger emphasized her new book is dedicated exclusively to single mothers whom, like her, have struggled with the strongholds life often deals them.

As expected, the feedback since the release of Granger’s book has been overwhelmingly favorable.

“I’ve received great feedback,” Granger said, adding that she’s very much open to speaking engagement nationwide to share of life-changing story. “The most important thing that was said to me was, ‘Let your voice be heard. Have faith! Speak life!’ (I was encouraged to) prophesy from God speaking into my life, from many men and women of God.”

Aside from being a new author, Granger is approximately a year removed from having started a business.

A graduate of Manassas Park High, Granger is owner of Legacy Pro Cleaning Service here, a venture that was spearheaded through Jan Pro of Memphis.

“I had to invest in myself and build my business so that it can provide financial stability (for me and my family),” Granger said.

GOD’S PLAN…GOD’S PLAN

A few months removed from having made her authorship debut, Granger is especially grateful of how God is about to allow “The Day I Met Life” to open an array of doors for her.

“I began writing once I was out of prison,” Granger said. “It took years for me to spill out all the hurt and pain I kept in for so many years. It was hindering my walk. I was holding grudges against the family for the lies and horrible things that were spoken over my life.

“I wanted a way out, so I continued to write to release the pain. In 2019, I completed my book after giving up and starting over so many times over the years. The more I wrote, the more I remembered from my childhood to show the world how I grew up and survived.”

With God, her Helper, leading the way.

Yep. She’s certainly #InThere.

That’s for sure.

“It’s a compelling story about how I struggled with sin, strongholds, and generational curses,” Granger told Making Headline News this week.

Former TCU football player Charles Jones advancing the kingdom mightily as Senior Pastor of New Creation Fellowship Church

Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord. (1 Corinthians 15:58 KJV)

TOUCHDOWN JESUS

GOD’S RED ZONE — Former Texas Christian University football player Charles Jones is savoring his rightful and well-deserved place as the Founder and Senior Pastor of New Creation Fellowship Church, the awe-inspiring ministry he organized in February 2011 amid deep concern for his family, friends, and the community.

FORT WORTH, Texas — There’s nothing like a praying mother.

If anyone can greatly attest to this notion, it’s Charles Jones.
Consider, for instance, how during his youth, Jones recalls vividly the days during which his mother had steadfastly gone to great lengths to ensure her family’s single-parent household was covered, both in the natural and the spirit.
“I learned how to be strong watching my mom battle through some difficult seasons in life,” Jones told Making Headline News during a recent interview. “There were many times as a single mother she made sacrifices to ensure we were covered. She went without to make sure we had.”
For what it’s worth, it is due in large part to those valuable, life-altering lessons Jones had embraced as a young lad that, by all accounts, have greatly shaped the overall landscape of his life, a life that has catapulted him to the divine purpose for which God created him.
Fast forward a few decades later, and here’s Jones, savoring his rightful and well-deserved place as the Founder and Senior Pastor of New Creation Fellowship Church, the flourishing ministry he organized in February 2011 amid what he described as “a deep concern” for his family, friends, and the community.

MORE ON NEW CREATION FELLOWSHIP: http://www.ncfcogic.org/home.html

Located at 2126 Amanda Avenue in Fort Worth, Texas, New Creation Fellowship is a Church of God In Christ-affiliated institution which, since its inception, has emerged as a thriving, progressive church by which God is manifesting Himself through the evidence of signs, wonders, and rapid ministry growth, according to a detailed introduction at http://www.ncfcogic.org/home.html.

For Jones, 42, his rise to finding his niche in what has become a commendable and well-respected Pastoral tenure had surfaced amid humble beginnings. It was, in fact, because of the influential impact of his mother, coupled with the strict Christian-based principles of his grandmother that essentially had paved the way to the former Texas Christian University football player shifting his focus from the gridiron to the pulpit.

For what it’s worth, it is due in large part to those valuable, life-altering lessons Jones had embraced as a young lad that, by all accounts, have greatly shaped the overall landscape of his life, one that has catapulted him to the divine purpose for which God created him.

“I witnessed her struggle, felt her pain, but every day was another opportunity for her to go out and do what was necessary to provide and survive,” said Jones, recalling his mother’s massive impact on his life during his youth. “We had nothing, but she refused to allow us to look like what we were going through. She pushed my dreams of being an athlete, while praying that the streets, gangs and drugs wouldn’t swallow me up.”

Interestingly, as Jones explained, even when recurring injuries reduced his effectiveness to play for a high-profile Division 1 football program — thus “halted my aspirations as an athlete,” he acknowledged — there was that one person besides God who had — for a lack of better words — proven to his ride or die soulmate.

That one person: Elect Lady Jennifer Jones (or “Lady J”), Jones’ beloved companion to whom he’s been married for 19-plus years. The couple share five daughters (Katelyn, Kylah, KaLeah, Kendall and Charlize), each of whom like their parents, are actively involved in ministry.

THE LEADERS OF NCF: http://www.ncfcogic.org/leadership.html

“I started preaching in the latter part of 2000, and he was called to ministry shortly after, if I’m not mistaking,” said Jones, whose first sermon was given at church of his wife’s father, Superintendent Ray Lee Smith the Greater Rose Hill Church in Terrell, Texas.

“It’s crazy,” Jones said, explaining the constant pursuit of his wife back during his undergraduate days. “I chased her for two years on campus and she wouldn’t give me the time of day, but in my moment of isolation and when I was battling suicidal ideations, God used her to minister to my brokenness.”

And just like that, not only did Jones witnessed what apparently was a spiritual makeover, of sorts, but God had ultimately blessed him to find his good thing in the process — all because, well, this young preacher had demonstrated enough meekness to embrace a process he appropriately likens to the Biblical character Jonah.

“She took me to church and I saw God clearly,” Jones said of his first real encounter with his wife. “Everything I had gone through had been my belly of the fish experience. All my life, God had been navigating and ordaining things to spit me out on the banks of my destiny.”

IN THE PRESENCE OF ROYALTY

The Joneses share five daughters (Katelyn, Kylah, KaLeah, Kendall and Charlize), each of whom like their parents, are actively involved in ministry.

It wasn’t long thereafter that Jones had officially hung up his helmet and cleats and subsequently commenced to calling audibles for God.

“I accepted my call a few months after that,” Jones explained. “This is the PG (parental guidance) version of my testimony.”

Regardless of how Jones labels his testimony, what matters, really, at this stage in his life is that such an intriguing and tear-jerking memory is what essentially had spearheaded his quest to press and navigate toward a destiny that was accompanied by his heaven-mandated assignment — the birthing of his ministry.

“New Creation Fellowship Church is a vision inspired by God,” Jones said. “In essence, (it is) a Macedonian call that was necessary on my way to heaven…one that was birthed with the purpose of strengthening the nucleus of family, community and the total man, first naturally then spiritually.”

“My wife and children have been awesome supporters of the ministry. It can be a burden at times because they have to share me with so many people, but we’ve learned to balance well over the years. Elect Lady Jones has been very instrumental and an intricate part of what we’ve accomplished. She is a phenomenal visionary and has an eye for development and design. Everything you see, walking into our ministry, she designed it. She took an old school baptist church and modernized it.” — Pastor Charles Jones

Since erecting his ministry, Jones undoubtedly has made his presence felt, not just throughout his congregation, but his family, considering his father is now serving in the ministry.

Since erecting his ministry, Jones undoubtedly has made his presence felt, not just throughout his congregation, but throughout his family, considering his father is now serving in the ministry.

“I started preaching in the latter part of 2000, and he was called to ministry shortly after, if I’m not mistaking,” said Jones, whose first sermon was given at the church of his wife’s father, Superintendent Ray Lee Smith the Greater Rose Hill Church in Terrell, Texas. “(My biological father’s) ministry wasn’t a result of mine. I thank God he got saved and (God) called him, though.”

Ironically, Jones served fervently in Smith’s ministry for a little more than a decade which, to his credit, essentially served as a sign of things to come.

“Superintendent Smith nurtured my gifts and instructed us in the way of holiness,” Jones said. “I’ve never known anyone like him. It has always been a pleasure to sit at his feet and much of the favor I have is a direct result of my connection to him. If we serve well, God will bless us.”

For Jones, God has surely blessed his family and exalted his ministry for such a pivotal time as now.

Eight years and counting to be exact.

“My servitude transcended the pulpit and Sunday morning services,” Jones said. “God told me to make His life easy, hold Him up and do whatever was necessary in order for Him to facilitate vision.”

Just as his praying mother had taught him back in the day.

If anyone can greatly attest to this notion, it’s Charles Jones.

AT LAST — “It’s crazy,” Jones said, explaining the constant pursuit of his wife back during his undergraduate days. “I chased her for two years on campus and she wouldn’t give me the time of day, but in my moment of isolation and when I was battling suicidal ideations, God used her to minister to my brokenness.”
