O sing unto the LORD a new song: sing unto the LORD, all the earth. (Psalm 96:1 NIV)
HOW GREAT THOU ART
For Yolanda Townsend, Thanksgiving Day 2018 is one in which she will remember for quite some time.
Probably for the rest of her life.
Consider, for instance, how God had strategically unleashed His glory yet again in the life of Townsend, the beloved Senior Pastor of Uncommon Favor Ministries in Anderson, South Carolina.
“This song was divinely inspired during our worship service live,” Townsend, during a recent interview with Making Headline News, said, recalling vividly how her gospel music recording debut unfolded.
The song to which Townsend is alluding is entitled, “Every Broken Place” an awe-inspiring, spiritually-empowering hit that emerged in the wake of a what she described as a “prophetic anointing” that arose during a morning church service and is available to subscribers via YouTube.
A song that has come full circle thanks in large to the aid of a host of Townsend’s colleagues and friends — most notably Pastor Trvera Williams, Kita Williams, Minister Stephanie Allison, Minister Kenny Smith, Minister Keisha Abney, Edward “Mersy” Williams, and Xavier Tyree Lipscomb — “Every Broken Place” figures to have a monumental impact amongst numerous believers and, perhaps, non-believers, Townsend hinted.
“This song has a message of mending the broken-hearted and wholeness for all who may have experienced any and every form of brokenness,” said Townsend, explaining the divine message she aspires to send to her listening audience through her debut song. “There are so many people who have been broken for years and yet still trying to mend themselves. This is a song of hope, deliverance, and restoration that regardless of your broken state, you can be mended and made whole.”
All things considered, Townsend’s love for singing and songwriting was discovered during her youth, particularly when she had grasped a keen passion for poetry and writing. “Songwriting has been a huge part and passion of mine for years (since I was) a little girl,” Townsend said. “I have done background vocals on several projects for years.”
A song that was produced by Smith — a gospel recording artist in his own right — Townsend is convinced that God’s will be done through her newly-released song.
A longtime ordained minister, Townsend enjoyed a six-year stint as an Assistant Pastor for Empowerment Worship Center in nearby Greenville, South Carolina.
TO GOD BE THE GLORY
Her tenure as the chief executive officer of her own church spans a little more than a year.
The Founder of DIVAS 4 Christ Ministries, Townsend was officially installed as Founder and Senior Pastor of Uncommon Favor Ministries during a consecration service on October 20, 2018.
“It is my prayer that every listener will be blessed through deliverance and healing (through this song),” Townsend said. “That broken relationships shall be restored between mothers, daughters, sons, and fathers…that every form of hurt shall no longer hold them captive from the pain of their past.
“The little girl who was molested shall experience freedom from her pain. For the man who was told he will never amount to anything, he shall be mended from what was sent to destroy him. I say to you, come alive again and live.”
From every broken place.
