We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves. (Romans 15:1 KJV)
MOTIVATIONAL GAME CHANGER
Much to her delight, God vividly revealed to Veronica Tucker a glimpse of her vision way back during her childhood.
As Tucker explained during an interview this week with Making Headline News, she recalls like yesterday when God had introduced to her such a striking, life-altering development.
“Since I was a young girl, I believed one of my purposes in life was to help people struggling with the challenges of life,” Tucker, a longtime professional social worker and accomplished author, said. “Over the years, I have witnessed individuals dealing with mental and physical abuse and living in poor conditions.
“In other instances, I have seen the effects of drug and alcohol abuse and children dropping out of school due to poor family dynamics and coping skills. Thus, I would like to be one of those individuals that find the resources to help them overcome the challenges and not just acknowledge that these problems exist.”
To her credit, Tucker has become thoroughly committed to fortifying her immeasurable skills as an accomplished South Carolina motivational speaker, specifically by strategically helping bring about the essential changes to people who could benefit mightily through her expertise.
“Too often, people preach a problem, but don’t offer a solution,” Tucker said. “Part of what inspired me to become a social worker was my own experience.”
Some of those dreaded experiences include Tucker have been molested at six years of age on several occasions by a neighbor, a matter she often discloses, particularly to those who have endured a similar encounter. Tucker, in fact, senses that one key ingredient to functioning as a resourceful motivational speaker is to exemplify a great deal of transparency, a trend has enhanced her passion and respectability in her chosen profession.
Widely regarded as an independent field social worker and child sexual abuse advocate, Tucker holds undergraduate and Master’s Degrees in Social Work, achievements that have afforded her the golden opportunity to work with disabled, elderly, and at-risk youth populations.
“I was a quiet child and although I had always been very observant, I never spoke about this experience until recently. However, the experience did have a negative impact on my childhood. Like so many other young girls, I became pregnant in high school and struggled academically.”
At times, in fact, Tucker sensed those array of hurdles about which she had to clear had essentially fallen on blind eyes and deaf eyes which, as a result, often left her assessing what adjustments she needed to implement surrounding her situation.
“My parents did not have an education that extended beyond grade school, and they were caring for 10 children,” Tucker explained. “Because of these conditions, it was very easy for my parents not to notice my changing performance. I would often wonder if my life would be different if I had spoken to someone, did things differently, or relied on someone’s judgment. However, I cannot change or dwell in the past, but I do know that I can change the future by serving the disadvantage.”

Today, Tucker has become thoroughly committed to becoming a voice of reason for those whom, much like she was a child, reluctant to speak up about ongoing struggles that could very well give way to long-term ramifications if not processed appropriately.
Tucker’s tenure as a social work-turned-motivational speaker includes having spent a considerable amount of time working with cognitive disability clients ranging in all ages.
“My experience in providing direct care to people with disabilities and special needs has enhanced my communication, problem solving, and interpersonal skills,” Tucker said. “My ability to have compassion for others along with my problem solving and interpersonal skills neutralized a situation that could have gone wrong.
“As a social worker, I realize it is imperative to work well under pressure and be detailed oriented. Based on my life experiences along with current experiences, I have learned what to say, how to say it, and the right time to say it.”
For what it’s worth, that practically sums up why Tucker’s immeasurable and unorthodox motivational speaking skills are especially prevalent for such pivotal — and perilous — times as now.
“While social workers are not expected to agree with or approve of the values and behaviors of other people, it is imperative that social workers communicate a non-judgmental attitude toward others,” Tucker said. “In my social work classes, I have learned social workers must be able to respect a client’s right to privacy. Social workers frequently make decisions that are considered to be ethical dilemmas, so I need to be able to handle difficult dilemmas without having an emotional breakdown.”
Most importantly, Tucker acknowledged, it is especially imperative that as a resourceful, effective social worker, one must be able to deal with his/her own personal feelings in order to help others effectively.
“Good communication and listening skills are needed by social workers,” Tucker says without hesitation. “If you have good interpersonal skills, you are in a position to further develop those skills for social work practice.”
Not to mention in what is steadily becoming an ever-so-competitive motivational speaking industry.
“I want to provide exceptional services to my clients affected by the uncertainty of their purpose and develop a holistic approach,” Tucker said.
All the while embracing her childhood vision the best way she knows how.
