Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord. (1 Corinthians 15:58 NKJV)
DESTINED TO LEAD
To her credit, Davetta Henderson has become a fixture in this ever-so-competitive world of authorship.
“(I’ve got) seven books in my future arsenal, fully outlined and waiting to be penned,” Henderson, a Capitol Heights, Maryland writer, told Making Headline News during a weekend interview.
For what it’s worth, Henderson has already made some remarkably brilliant strides as an author, considering she is a part of a high-anticipated book that is scheduled to debut this year.
Henderson is one of a gallery of co-authors who have contributed to Mitchellville, Maryland-based businesswoman Dr. Jennifer Jones Bryant’s Step Into Leadership Greatness: Leadership Isn’t Just A Title, a book that is scheduled to make its official release in March 2021.
A progressive, flourishing businesswoman in her own right, Henderson chapter in Dr. Bryant’s anthology is entitled, “The Compelling Authenticity of a Charismatic Leader,” whereby she addresses what she describes as “Charismatic Leadership.”

“God gave me the vision to participate in the leadership anthology and to choose the ‘Charismatic Leader’ chapter from a recent divine connection in the workplace with one of the most charismatic leaders I have ever met,” Henderson explained. “There was a personal commitment, inner momentum, ownership, and consistent believability that made reaching success look effortless. It changed my thought process and expectations of myself. I have wanted to share that experience with others.”
Henderson’s appearance in Bryant’s anthology comes approximately six months after the ceremonious release of her solo-authored written work, The Seed-The Soil-The Sower, which debuted in July 2020.
“The single (most underlying) reason I chose to participate in this book project was a divine connection with the visionary,” said Henderson, referring to her solid working rapport with Dr. Bryant. “All it takes is one purpose-filled encounter orchestrated by God to move your destiny forward. It was through this connection that God assured me that all things are still possible.
“The opportunity and support are there,” Henderson continued. “The bar is set high in terms of structure. All I must do is use my God-given gift, look beyond all fears, and walk through every door that God opens through this book journey. I consider this a great opportunity that Dr. Bryant is providing. I am honored and excited to be among an incredible list of authors, entrepreneurs, and visionaries. Such a great mix of perspectives bringing new insight into leadership styles.”
As for Henderson’s The Seed-The Soil-The Sower, she commenced to composing this book sometime in 2008 amid an awe-inspiring vision she grasped in a dream.
“For 12 years, I avoided writing for various reasons until God orchestrated another one of His divine connections,” Henderson recalls. “In the midst of the pandemic, I began working with an awesome book and business coach. The book was written in one month and produced and printed in 10 days…in time to be launched at a major church event.”
There is, by all accounts, an intriguing message Henderson is destined to send to readers of her featured book.
“Based on the Biblical parable in Mark 4:4-8, through the lives of five main characters, the book provides readers with an opportunity to examine their hearts and to see the consequences and harvest of receiving or rejecting God’s word,” Henderson explained. “It is meant to show that God is always providing us with opportunities to reap a great harvest, and we play a role in our own outcome regardless of our beginning.”
Much to her delight, the feedback amid the release of Henderson’s initial published project has been overwhelmingly favorable.
“The feedback has been positive,” she said. “The most head quote was, ‘It was an easy read. I could relate.’ The first (wave of books) sold out quickly. People purchased multiple copies. The characters were seen as very relatable and the readers were left feeling real life emotions and a hungry, (clinging to) curiosity for what is to come next. Just the right response from the introductory book of a five-(part) series.”
Henderson has announced that other books are on the horizon, most notably:

- “Prophesy Manifested” (My miraculous healing).
A native of Washington DC, Henderson is an avid singer and licensed minister who works in Human Resources Management and Training, conducting one-on-one and group sessions.
“I believe God is still in the business of orchestrating divine connections and opening doors that no man can close,” Henderson said her rise as an accomplished author. “He’s been preparing me for this time. At the blessed age of 58, I am launching out into the deep and letting down my net until it breaks from the overflow.”
Just as God had envisioned for her life.
