I returned and saw under the sun that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all. (Ecclesiastes 9:11 KJV)
GOD’S FAITH-STEPPER
Jessica Shelton, in all honesty, went against what God strategically commanded her to do.
Still, that didn’t merely stop her from fulfilling her God-mandated assignment.
“God told me to write this book in 2018, but I procrastinated until 2019 and published it in 2020,” Shelton, a Columbus, Mississippi author, told Making Headline News during a weekend interview. “I wrote my book because I was constantly meeting people that told me they wanted to give up or take their life and, right then, I knew I had better do what God asked of me.”
Fortunately for Shelton, she made it a point to alter her mindset and, much to her delight, she revisited that about which God commissioned her to do.
And so it eventually came to pass, the highly-anticipated release of Shelton’s Keeping the Faith Through Life’s Greatest Battles which, to her distinctly unique credit, ceremoniously jumpstarted her authorship debut.

For Shelton, her rise to witnessing her debut as a Christian-based author comes amid humble beginnings, in large part because she vividly recalls her dreaded season during which she battled through “fighting a rare cancer.”
“I’m still in the fight,” Shelton said of her unlikely cancer diagnosis.
Not only that, Shelton senses, among other things, that her new book is one that figures to help advance the kingdom for years to come.
“My reason for writing this book is that I wanted to encourage and let (the masses) know that they weren’t alone,” Shelton explained. “I knew my book could reach more people than I could.”

A book that made its official debut on November 7, 2020, Shelton’s Keeping the Faith Through Life’s Greatest Battles is accompanied by a great deal of transparencies disclosed by this remarkably gifted writer and devout woman of faith.
“I wanted to share my truths,” Shelton writes in a detailed synopsis of her book at Amazon.com. “Life dealt me many blows, but God has brought me through all of them. You never know what situations you will find yourself in. We try to think we can handle most things, but never truly know until we are knee-deep in the situation. In my book, I have tried to share how no matter how many blows, what the blow was, or how quickly it landed after the previous one, God helped me endure. I endured for my family. I endured for myself. You can endure. I pray my testimony gives you some strength and motivation to endure life’s greatest battles!”
To her credit, Shelton has become the beneficiary of a rash of favorable feedback since the release of Keeping the Faith Through Life’s Greatest Battles.
“People have told me that they were so happy that they bought it because it encouraged them to keep pushing in their tough times,” Shelton said.”
Not to be outdone, Shelton has announced that her sophomore written work is currently in the works.
This time, however, there will be no procrastination taking place.
“I’m in the process of writing my second book, and it’s about marriage and different types (of conflict) and how these marriages are to be dealt with,” Shelton said.
Also, Shelton announced that several speaking engagements are being scheduled during which she will be afforded opportunities to promote her new book.
