EDITOR’S NOTE: This story on well-respected Texas businesswoman Joie Rasberry has been suitably deemed a Making Headline News Annual Black History Month Special Report.
Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. (Galatians 6:9 NIV)
SET ASIDE FOR GOD’S USE
DALLAS — Joie Rasberry thoroughly embraces the notion that the sustained success she’s enjoying in her chosen professional comes amid humble beginnings.
“Coming from humble beginnings, my focus has never been to compete with anyone else,” Rasberry, during a recent interview with Making Headline News, said, recalling the notable developments that have contributed mightily to her endeavor as an accomplished Motivational Speaker. “My focus has always been to be better than I was the day before. I am my own competition. I believe there is enough space at the top for all of us, though only those who are prepared and competent will reach the highest level. We each have our own race to run. Even if we are doing the same thing, how we do it and the degree to which we do it makes us distinctly different. The challenge is to always out due me, not anyone else.”
For Rasberry, her entrepreneurial track record is such that she’s proven to diligently outdo herself, particularly as a rising speaker whom, much to her delight, is witnessing God steadily enlarge her territory.
Suitably known as an International Keynote Speaker, Rasberry has been afforded the golden opportunity to put her immeasurable empowerment gifts on display in a variety of establishments around the globe, most notably:
Paris, France
Rome, Italy
London, England
Madrid, Spain
Johannesburg, South Africa
Vancouver, Canada
Washington, D.C.
Anaheim, California
Atlanta, Georgia
Camden, Arkansas
New York, New York
Montgomery, Alabama
Newark, New Jersey and,
Hollywood, Florida, among others.
An accomplished Houston-based keynote speaker who has garnered international praise due to her fervent quest of routinely focusing on women and girl’s empowerment, Rasberry also operates in a public speaking and presentation agency and is the mastermind behind the Rasberry Institute.

“When you learn the art of public speaking, you become unstoppable and unforgettable,” Rasberry told MHN. “At Rasberry Institute, we are driven by a single core belief (You. Have. What. It. Takes.)
To us, you have the courage to stand in front of thousands with confidence, vulnerability, and authenticity. It means you have the gravitas and executive presence to command a room filled with world leaders and CEO’s. Your natural charisma. Your unique voice. It’s you at your very best.”
Interestingly enough, Rasberry doesn’t shy away from the notion that she’s always been intrigued by assuming the illustrious role of leadership, particularly since she discovered that entrepreneurship aligns with her divine calling.
“I absolutely love calling the shots and being my own boss,” Rasberry said. “The buck starts and stops with me. Entrepreneurship is a 24-hour-a-day job. I am always in search for the next assignment, and I love it because I love what I do. I wake up every morning knowing that I get to equip others with the tools and strategies needed to discard the past, think beyond the present and, more importantly, I get to share with them that God has given us everything we need for our success and survival.”
A well-respected globally-acclaimed speaker in her own right, Rasberry is a graduate of The High School for the Performing & Visual Arts, where she acquired a diploma in Theatre.
Also, she enrolled at Southwestern Christian College, where she earned an Associate of Arts Degree in Biblical Studies.

Rasberry would finish her undergraduate studies at Texas Southern University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Speech Communication and minored in Broadcast Journalism.
As Rasberry explained, her fervent rise to success in her chosen professional would not have come full circle if not for a solid supporting cast that was spearheaded by her parents.
“My parents were the first to inspire me because they always made me feel like I could do anything and become anybody I wanted to become,” Rasberry said. “My second grade elementary school teacher (Dorothy Webb), sixth grade middle school drama teacher (Pamela Johnson), 12th grade high school English teacher (Lady Marie Scranton Catley), and college Philosophy professor and Speech & Debate Coach (Dr. Thomas F. Freeman) were all instrumental in paving the way and setting a tone for excellence that has catapulted me beyond my wildest dreams. They believed in me before my own belief tapped in.
“I attribute my success as a business owner, speaker and writer because I sat on the shoulders of giants,” Rasberry continued. “None of us gets to where we are by ourselves. Someone pours into us, believes in us, mentors us, encourages us, inspire us, and shows us a more perfect way.”
Also, Rasberry said that through her featured endeavor, “We offer Speech Coaching & Presentation Effectiveness to celebrities, entertainers, professional athletes, ministry leaders, rising politicians, business executives, and everyday people who want to speak and communicate better. We offer group, one-on-one, virtual, and face-to-face training.
IN HER ELEMENT
“For groups and individuals, we offer presentation skill training, public speaking programs, corporate presentation programs, voice training, accent reduction coaching, interview skills, leadership presence and communication skill training. Through our innovative programs, we uncover each person’s unique way of engaging listeners, freeing their natural abilities to connect, captivate, and compel attention.”
Armed with more than three decades of experience in her line of work, Rasberry on February will be the Black History Featured Speaker at Houston’s Wings of Faith Church during its 11 a.m. CST service.
More than anything, Rasberry acknowledged, many of speeches customarily are accompanied by an empowering message to women and young girls from various walks of life.
DESTINY STEPS
“In my keynote addresses to women events around the country, my desire is that every woman and girl will understand that they are fearfully made in the image of God,” Rasberry said. “They can do what God says she can do, they can go where God says she can do, and they can become what God says she can become. Be it in ministry or the marketplace, they are more than a conqueror. Since the very beginning of time, God has always placed His stamp of approval on women.

“It’s time to show up healed, healthy, and whole,” Rasberry added. “Fear cannot immobilize us and satan cannot defeat us. Sometimes, the world paints a very dismal picture, and this is why I always try to speak life into others. It is not over. You are not counted out. You are somebody and, if you stay in the game, you will win.”
Spoken like a true champion and woman of excellence.
