A native of Sumter, South Carolina who boasts strong ties to Bridgeport, Connecticut, Williams, 50, is a 1991 graduate of Sumter High School.

A progressive, thriving men’s mindset coach and public speaker in his own right who is the face of Act Accordingly LLC Men’s Power Coaching, Williams’ featured business venture is centered largely on showing men not only how to identify but, more importantly, how to walk away from certain patterns and habits that often keep them living in what he describes as cycles of frustration.

“What propelled me into the pursuit of attacking the stresses and internal conflicts many men stay quiet about was my own crying in loneliness trying to figure out how to maneuver being a responsible man that could be respected and spoken well of,” Williams told Making Headline News as part of its 2023 Essence Music Festival advance coverage leading to the “the party with a purpose” event June 29-July 3 in New Orleans. “Listening to other men crying in silence. Watching other men walk around acting brave and behaving as if they had all the answers, but crumbling emotionally disturbed me greatly.

“So much so that I determined within myself that I am going to exemplify and be recognized only as an honorable man of character and integrity. This is what purposed me to not become the negative statistic and study that’s published in articles and studies and then for me to show other men how to come from under that heavy darkness negative labels we have accepted, agreed with, and chased.

Continued Williams: “What I enjoy most in what I do is witnessing the metamorphic process of a man’s confidence, going from being passive or passive aggressive to simply becoming confident and assertive. I always find it exhilarating watching a man discard a passive personality in exchange for a more tenacious one.

“I’ve not allowed myself to be restricted and exclusive to only adult males, but also the pre-teens, teens, and younger men.”

A ministry that customarily accommodates individuals and groups ranging in ages 12-to-45, Williams doesn’t shy away from the notion that he especially is committed to targeting youths who drastically decrease their probability of becoming a danger to their future selves, opportunities, and relationships by presenting them with a reset button before the damaging mindsets and habits become solidified and more difficult to identify and alter.

“I believe the resurgence of men with integrity and character is the way to reconstruct the disorder of our families and culture,” Williams told MHN. “Although I have not physically travelled outside of the country, I’ve influenced transformation with men and young men throughout the United States, Canada, the UK, Spain, Egypt, and Africa with the help of the reach of technology and video conference calls. What I intend to accomplish, I view more of a ministry than just a business platform.”

As Williams explains, there is a scripture that “speaks powerfully” to his strategic mission as the mastermind of Act Accordingly LLC Men’s Power Coaching.

“And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse,” Williams said, referring to Malachi 4:6/KJV).

Also, Williams emphasized his ministry is vital in large part because he senses men having lost confidence and hope subsequently cause children to do the same.

“A man restored is children and families restored,” Williams said. “Young boys and young men not having to wonder, ‘What’s a man supposed to…’ or ‘How is a man supposed to…’ but being groomed by a responsible and honorable man can change the trajectory of homes and society,” Williams explained. “This is how I believe we bring order to the chaos that is progressively growing within our culture. As I began to develop an anger towards men being categorized and labeled as worthless, useless, deadbeats, toxic, not possessing the ability to be faithful or honest, and the other disrespectful comments made about us, I decided I can do something about this.”

Interestingly enough, Williams credits renowned leaders such as Malcolm X, Marcus Garvey, Daniel from the Bible and, most importantly, “Jesus The Christ” as having been true examples men after whom men could use to pattern.

“What began as me being a fitness coach transitioned into becoming a life and men’s mindset coach…maybe 20 years ago,” Williams said. “In being a fitness coach, I had to help my clients with mindset transformation before I could get them to the place of body transformation. Once they re-arranged certain emotional and mental blocks, it made pursuing health and performance changes so much more attainable.”

ADVANCING THE KINGDOM

Continued Williams when asked why it is imperative to inspire a call to action for other men and boys to devise ways to become better versions of themselves:

“It is for them to realize they have more excellence in them than they realize,” Williams said. “I also often think, ‘I wish there was someone like me around when I was stuck in my self-destructive cycles.’ I need the sound of my voice to immediately wake up the dormant greatness that every man has coded within himself so that he leads and that his leadership is that kind that also demands the most excellent out of and from those he has influence with.”
