Longtime real estate professional Dr. Tammie Harris is planning to give back in a massive way.
For what it’s worth, her token of love comes amid humble beginnings.
The face of The Tammie Harris Real-Estate Firm — her North Carolina-based featured business endeavor that has emerged as arguably one of the finest of its kind, particularly in the Southeast region of the nation — Dr. Harris announced her firm, in conjunction with Kayla J. Community Foundation, will spearhead what is suitably known as International Mission Outreach with Dr. Patricia Bailey.
Powered by the Kayla J. Foundation, the International Mission Outreach has implemented a strategic goal of building 10 tiny homes in Johannesburg, South Africa November 27 through December 4.

“Growing up poor as a child, daughter of sharecroppers, and not having adequate housing throughout the years, I realized that helping provide tiny homes, especially in Africa, would means so much to me in the form of giving back,” Dr. Harris told Making Headline News during a recent interview. “I’ve lived in the projects and trailer parks, and one of my goals and desires is to help families move with purpose. So what better way to do that with Dr. Patrica Bailey Project, someone that I know, like, and trust.”
As Dr. Harris explained, visiting the establishment known as the “Motherland” is something about which she had envisioned for some time.
“I’ve always wanted to go to Africa,” Dr. Harris told MHN. “It’s been on my dream list for at least 25 years. When my good friend, Joy Simmons, mentioned the opportunity, it was a no-brainer. The fact that I was the first woman to complete Pugh Builders GC Academy, tiny homes were the first thought I had once I decided to go. There will be many opportunities while there, but that was the first thought in my head.”
Since announcing her globally-acclaimed initiative, Dr. Harris has garnered an outpour of public support from those who have expressed interest in aiding her on this mission.

“Everyone seems to super excited and have even given monetary (donations) towards this initiative with hopes that they, too, can go next year when we return,” Dr. Harris, Making Headline News’ International Women’s Day Woman of the Year for 2023, said.

In essence, Kayla J. Foundation’s strategic goal is centered largely on offering economic empowerment to parents and children to experience financial freedom by offering classes and assisting families financially with housing, school supplies, clothes, scholarships for a trade or college.
“Our goal is to provide and equip parents and children,” Dr. Harris told MHN. “(We are committed) to assist and empower while they are meeting life goals: missions, teaching, and outreach.”
