“Growing up poor as a child, daughter of sharecroppers, and not having adequate housing throughout the years, I realized that helping provide tiny homes, especially in Africa, would means so much to me in the form of giving back,” Dr. Harris told Making Headline News during a recent interview. “I’ve lived in the projects and trailer parks, and one of my goals and desires is to help families move with purpose. So what better way to do that with Dr. Patrica Bailey Project, someone that I know, like, and trust.”

As Dr. Harris explained, visiting the establishment known as the “Motherland” is something about which she had envisioned for some time.

“I’ve always wanted to go to Africa,” Dr. Harris told MHN. “It’s been on my dream list for at least 25 years. When my good friend, Joy Simmons, mentioned the opportunity, it was a no-brainer. The fact that I was the first woman to complete Pugh Builders GC Academy, tiny homes were the first thought I had once I decided to go. There will be many opportunities while there, but that was the first thought in my head.”

Since announcing her globally-acclaimed initiative, Dr. Harris has garnered an outpour of public support from those who have expressed interest in aiding her on this mission.
