She considers a field before she buys or accepts it — expanding her business prudently — with her profits, she plants fruitful vines in her vineyard. (Proverbs 31:16 Amplified Bible)
SEASON OF NEW BEGINNINGS
DALLAS — Patrice Starks has gone to great lengths to steadfastly carry on her family’s awe-inspiring legacy.
As part of Making Headline News’ advance national media coverage for Bishop T. D. Jakes 2024 International Leadership Summit from Dallas, Texas March 21-23, Starks, an accomplished Texas businesswoman, spoke at length on how her parent company, Susan Salley Consulting LLC, customarily pays homage to her first ancestors who are recorded in the United States census.
Amongst the notable ancestors, Starks recalls, is Susanna Gissendanner.
A slave in South Carolina who was born in 1798, Gissendanner was the third great grandmother of Starks’ father.

Sally Burns, meanwhile, was born in 1801 in Alabama, and was also a slave.
“She’s my mother’s third great grandmother,” Starks told MHN this week. “I considered it an honor to build a business to memorialize these two great women whom, by the grace of God, are the genesis of my life’s legacy.”
The business venture to which Starks is alluding is Legacy Audit and Recovery, a rising Dallas-Fort Worth-based division that has become a fixture for helping provide some sense of restoration to families after foreclosure.
In essence, Legacy Audit and Recovery’s strategic mission is centered largely on serving “a greater cause than ourselves through professionalism, integrity, and excellence in audit and recovery services,” according to a spokesperson for this credible company via https://www.legacyaudit.com/about. “We extend the offer to help without risk in hopes that this will seed generational wealth for you and your family.”
According to data Starks submitted to MHN, studies show that each day in America, approximately 3,000 homes are lost to foreclosure.
“But few homeowners know that if the home sells for more than the debt owed, the difference between those amounts belongs to them, and the original property owner at the time of the sale,” Starks explained. “Let’s let that sink in. If you owed $50,000 to the lender and the bank or if county sells your home for $150,000, you are owed by law $100,000.00.

“That’s where my business comes in,” Starks emphasized. “We help to get those funds back to the homeowner, navigating the legal process and paperwork. There are varying laws and statutes for each state, but my team is able to help out with attorneys and notaries available nationwide.”
For Starks, overseeing the day-to-day operations of a credible company, by all accounts, has become a way of life for this longtime and well-respected Texas businesswoman.
“I love the work that I do because I get to personally know the families that I help during the most challenging part of their lives,” Starks, a native of Athens, Texas, said. “In June, I discovered an average of over $160,000 for a homeowner who was embroiled in a fierce divorce. After telling her about my company and what we do, she was amazed, at first thinking it was a scam. I assured her that I run a legitimate business and allowed her to question me as much as necessary to ensure that she was comfortable.
“As it turned out, she lived only minutes from my home, and we met the next day to sign the agreement. Less than four months later, I was honored to deliver a check to her.”
Legacy Audit and Recovery officially opened for operations in February, a milestone Starks described as “a successful launch.”
“I have built a national team of 20 associates working with me to fulfill this ministry,” Starks told MHN. “There is no fee required up-front for us to begin the work for our clients. We only need a ‘yes’ to get started with the research, filings, and legal fees. Once the funds are recovered, we are paid at the end. If we don’t recover anything for you, you owe us nothing. In only seven months, I am on target to have collected $407,000 for my clients and this is just the start.”
Married for eight-plus years to her “crush,” Michael Starks, the couple has four children and six grandchildren. In addition, Starks is a best-selling author, playwright, and a four-time cancer survivor.
FAVORABLE RESULTS
Said Starks of her flourishing business venture:
“Being God’s hands and feet during this restoration after foreclosure has been one of the greatest opportunities I have ever been given. After spending over 30 years in corporate America chasing money and status, I realized that I was working hard for board members and investors who knew nothing of my existence. I knew there was something bigger and better for me, so I took a leap of faith and walked away from great pay and benefits to see what God had for me.
“I used what I learned in corporate to transfer over into my business and I am no longer doing hard work; I’m doing heart work,” Starks continued. “Whereas I would spend 10 hours a day striving to meet quotas and sales goals for corporations, I now spend those 10 hours in my home office, looking for people to help. This has truly changed my life.”
