I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. (Romans 8:18/NIV)
PURE RESILENCE
Evelyn Denise Hemphill has valid reasons for customarily disclosing a great deal of transparency.
Amongst the biggest reasons is that as a well-respected advocate for domestic violence, Hemphill doesn’t shy away from the notion that diligently offering transparency regarding what she describes as a “very serious epidemic” will help generations for years to come.
As part of Making Headline News’ advance national media coverage for Bishop T. D. Jakes 2024 International Leadership Summit from Dallas March 21-23, Hemphill spoke at length about how as the founder and CEO of Evelyn The Advocate, LLC, her rising organization is committed to empowering not a targeting audience, but everyone who has endured some form of domestic violence or sexual assault.
Suitably known as your trusted partner in the fight against domestic violence, Hemphill’s primary objective as the face of her organization is centered largely on her immeasurable gift as a motivational speaker.

In essence, Hemphill’s strategic mission through her organization is centered in large part on impacting “every life” that has been affected by domestic violence.
According to data compiled by the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence, one in four women and one in seven men have been victims of severe physical violence (e.g. beating, burning, strangling) by an intimate partner in their lifetime.
Also, on a typical day, there are more than 20,000 phone calls placed to domestic violence hotlines nationwide, according to the NCADV report. Moreover, the presence of a gun in domestic violence situations increases the risk of homicide by 500%.
“Victims of domestic violence need access to lifesaving information and emotional support to navigate the legal system, seek justice, and heal,” Hemphill said. “That’s why I’m a domestic violence victim advocate as a vital resource. Professional advocates as myself help victims receive the resources and assistance they need to cope and move forward as survivors.”
Having acquired professional training through the North Carolina Coalition Against Domestic Violence Catapult Outreach Inc., Hemphill’s featured business endeavor has also become committed to combating sexual assault.
For instance, according to data compiled by the National Sexual Violence Resource Center (NSVRC), 81 percent of women and 43 percent of men reported experiencing some form of sexual harassment and/or assault in their lifetime.
“(My mission) is to drive down the statistics for domestic violence and to also to expose a civil case that I was involved in so that people will be aware of what happened to my child and myself so that they may be mentally prepared,” Hemphill said of an organization that is steadily attracting a widespread national presence.

Interestingly enough, Evelyn The Advocate has partnered with Catapult Outreach in joining the fight against domestic violence and sexual assault, a collaboration that went into effect approximately a year ago.
Like Hemphill’s organization, Catapult Outreach’s mission is centered on supporting families of domestic violence abuse and sexual assault, particularly by connecting people and resources of education, research, and advocacy through a trauma-informed approach.

CHANGING A GENERATION
An organization that is run by executive director Sherry T. Cribb, Catapult Outreach sponsored Hemphill’s training through the North Carolina Coalition Against Domestic Violence.
Both organizations will collectively spearhead what is known as A Teal Sexual Assault Awareness Conversation Brunch. Powered by Catapult Outreach, this empowerment assembly will take place April 13 at 1 p.m. EST at the Chester Event Center, located at 125 Main Street in Chester, South Carolina.
Tickets to the brunch are $25 and can be purchased via Eventbrite at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/776507884987?aff=oddtdtcreator.
Besides Hemphill, other domestic violence survivors will be on hand to speak during this empowerment brunch.
“I collaborate with Catapult Outreach,” Hemphill said. “I’ve been doing that for over a year now. “It is imperative that I esteem and inspire others because domestic violence and sexual assault have a detrimental effect on society that literally not only contributes to people losing their lives, but also it contributes to situations where a person’s life can literally be destroyed because of systemic failures that currently exist in the flawed judicial that we currently have.
“I have concerns about the mainstream media not wanting to inform the public about real miscarriages of justice,” continued Hemphill, adding that a book is forthcoming later this year, an informative written work that will chronicle her journey as an esteemed advocate for domestic violence and sexual assault.
