She is like the merchant ships, bringing her food from afar. She gets up while it is still night. She provides food for her family and portions for her female servants. She considers a field and buys it; out of her earnings she plants a vineyard. She sets about her work vigorously; her arms are strong for her tasks. (Proverbs 31:14-17/NIV)
A-K-A-MAZING ENTREPRENEUR OF EXCELLENCE

“Our motto is, ‘What you put on your body is just as important as what you put in it,’” according to Morton in a detailed synopsis of her newly-erected company via https://skindeepbeautystore.com/pages/about-us.
Generally, Skin Deep Beauty Store is a one-stop shop with all vegan, organic, and natural products that match Morton’s mission and vision that are centered in large part on clean and affordable beauty.
“My competitive drive prepared me for success as a business owner by instilling qualities such as resilience, determination, innovation, and adaptability,” a native of Washington, D. C., Morton told MHN. “All of those qualities are essential for navigating the challenges and opportunities of the entrepreneurial journey.
“I like the freedom to make my own schedule and pursue my passions,” Morton continued, explaining what she likes mostly about her assortment of entrepreneurial endeavors. I love having the autonomy of setting my own goals and building my businesses according to my vision. The independence of being an entrepreneur can be incredibly fulfilling and empowering where it allows you to chart your own path and take control of your destiny.
“Lastly, the potential to leave a lasting legacy and contribute to positive society progress is a powerful motivator too. But it’s hard work. I don’t want anyone to think it’s all glamour and glitz. That’s what it may look like on the outside, but any business owner will tell you that it’s not for the faint of heart.”
GOD’S PURPOSE PUSHER
While Morton’s businesses customarily services individuals and groups ranging mostly in ages 18-to-80, she emphasized that anyone could benefit from her variety of credible products or services.
Much to her delight, she’s steadily attracting more of an international presence as a flourishing entrepreneur.
“These business ventures have taken me all across the U.S. and some parts of the world,” Morton said. “I recently spent several weeks in Dubai developing collaborations and partnerships in order to get my Skin Deep Beauty line in stores or on platforms in the UAE (United Arab Emirates).”
Fortunately for Morton, she managed to secure a partnership with Glamazle, which is considered one of the biggest beauty platforms in the UAE.
“They carry my Skin Deep Beauty products in their online platform,” Morton told MHN.
As for her strategic mission for functioning in her entrepreneurial element, Morton said:
“My personal mission for my work is to ignite positive change by creating solutions that improve people’s lives, empower communities of color, and foster sustainable growth.
“With integrity, passion, and resilience as my guiding principles, I hope to be leading by example. Through my business journey, I aim to inspire others to dream big, pursue their passions fearlessly, and make a lasting and positive impact on their community and even the world.”
GOD’S LEADING LADIES
Armed with more than 2 ½ decades of experience as an entrepreneur — “I became a full-time entrepreneur once my children went off to college almost a decade ago,” she recalls — Morton boasts a pretty solid itinerary.
“I just co-hosted a phenomenal global women’s health conference with my genius Black Door Society Sister Ogo Ekweume. The energy at the sold-out event was electric and inspirational,” Morton, a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated for three-plus decades, said. “I will be hosting the Award of Natural Excellence (AONE) Gala in Atlanta in April by the World Natural Hair Health & Beauty organization. Thousands of people always attend that weekend event curated by the super successful hair care mogul Taliah Waajid.

“I’ll also be celebrating Black Door Society’s Founders Day in Detroit in April and speaking to some amazing black women entrepreneurs who are blazing trails. And lastly, Black Door Society will have its Annual Community Celebration Awards where we honor the impactful community work done by outstanding people.
“This year, we are honoring singer and songwriter Raheem DeVaughn for his Love/Life Foundation, Roland Martin for his trailblazing work in the Black community as a journalist, NBC 4 News Anchor Shawn Yancy for her Girls Night Out Foundation, Derrica and Natalie Wilson, Founders of Black and Missing Foundation, Walter Kirkland, Founding Charter President of Prince Georges’ County Chapter of 100 Black Men, Larry Laws, 24-year Army Veteran and Founder/CEO of First Home Alliance, and Martin Ezemma, Director of International Business at the Economic Development Corporation. So, I have my hands full.”
That, to her credit, practically sums up why she could be appropriately described as a serial entrepreneur.
A progressive, resourceful one, to put it more precisely.
