“Initially, receiving these honors was overwhelming,” Dr. Sykes told Making Headline News during a recent interview. “I felt deeply grateful and filled with gratitude knowing that there are people who recognize the work I’ve been doing and deemed it worthy of recognition. When I embarked on my journey to provide resources for mental health and special education by sharing my experiences and providing holistic therapy to behaviorally challenged children, I didn’t do it with the intention of seeking recognition in this capacity. However, this honor has given me the opportunity to reflect on the impact I have made thus far and reminded me of the work that still lies ahead.”
Having evolved as fixture in the mental health and special education sectors throughout the years, Dr. Sykes has garnered high praise as founder and CEO of NESS Cares and NESS Behavior Consulting her featured business endeavor that has become a fixture for supporting and empowering the mental health and special education communities.

YEAR OF DESTINY
“The impact that this has had on my life thus far is profound,” Dr. Sykes told MHN. “I believe that God has changed my name. Through this transformation, I am granted access to new spaces, increasing my credibility in my field, expanding my territory, and reaching more people in need. I am eagerly anticipating exploring this new chapter and journey in my life, as there are countless unconventional approaches to mental health and special education that I believe our education and behavioral health systems are hesitant to embrace, possibly out of fear of trying something new.
“However, I am not afraid. I have always been someone who engages in self-reflection and strives to improve myself first, before extending that to others around me,” Dr. Sykes continued. “This mindset has equipped me to evaluate everything with the intention of creating a platform that not only provides immediate support but also equips individuals with resources they can carry with them to effectively change their lives.”
