To her distinctly unique credit, Nakisha Jolanda Gregory has been blessed mightily to oversee the day-to-day of a progressive, flourishing business venture, one that is endeavored to give back in a big way.
An esteemed Wimauma, Florida Corporate America-turned-entrepreneur, Gregory is the mastermind behind Baldie Brigade Apparel LLC, her rising lifestyle brand that has become a fixture for uplifting individuals, particularly those who have experienced hair loss or chosen baldness as a personal statement.
“My own journey with alopecia due to lupus inspired me to create this brand to celebrate the beauty, courage, and strength of bald individuals,” Gregory, 44, told Making Headline News this week. “Through unique apparel and community-centered initiatives, Baldie Brigade Apparel fosters a sense of pride and self-acceptance.”
Interestingly enough, Gregory’s Baldie Brigade is committed to making a difference through credible initiatives such as Game Face Clean, which has become a fixture for bringing self-care and confidence-building to young male athletes and through partnerships with various community organizations.

“Our mission transcends fashion, seeking to build a supportive community that celebrates individuality, fortitude, and empowerment,” Gregory said, adding that her company is currently accepting donations for what is known as Game Face Clean Essentials Kits.
Amongst the reasons is Baldie Brigade Apparel stives to “provide each young man who participates in our quarterly workshops with a kit,” Gregory emphasized. “These contributions equip them with the tools to build self-confidence and encourage more youth to engage in self-care.”
Also, Gregory announced that 30 percent of the proceeds from Game Face Clean will be donated to Lend A Secondhand Inc., a Hampton, Virginia-based nonprofit dedicated to uplifting under-resourced communities.
“Their mission to foster community well-being aligns closely with ours, and we are honored to support their work,” Gregory said. “Lend A Secondhand Inc. shares our vision of empowering individuals to reach their potential, and by contributing to them, we extend the impact of Game Face Clean beyond our immediate reach. Through collaborations with local barbershops and partnerships with celebrity ambassadors, Game Face Clean aspires to inspire young men across the country to prioritize self-care, develop inner strength, and build lasting confidence.”

Having established Baldie Brigade Apparel in 2023 — “so the brand is still in its formative stages,” she said — Gregory relishes the solid working rapport her featured business endeavor has built in such a brief time with Game Face Clean.
“We are already making an impact through our empowerment initiatives, especially with our new campaign,” Gregory told MHN. “My mission is to help people embrace their uniqueness and feel confident. Living with alopecia due to lupus has underscored the importance of self-acceptance, and I want to share that lesson with others.
“Through Game Face Clean, my goal is to instill values like self-care, self-respect, and confidence in young men. We’re equipping these young athletes with essential life skills that build resilience, discipline, and self-esteem — qualities that will serve them well in all aspects of life. When asked who were amongst those who has greatly empowered her to move forward with her rising initiative, Gregory said:
“My inspiration comes from my loving husband (Shannon Gregory), who is my greatest support, and our five children, who are strong and self-assured. Their resilience motivates me to create something meaningful that empowers others to feel capable and valued. My personal journey with alopecia also plays a significant role, as I want to show others that they can find strength and beauty in their unique journeys.”

Looking ahead, Gregory announced she will be hosting her inaugural Game Face Clean empowerment event on January 25, 2025, at Elite Barbershop in Newport News.
“This event will bring together 18 young men for a day of skincare education, grooming, and engaging activities,” Gregory said. “Highlights include a game truck, sponsored lunch, complimentary Game Face Clean kits, and branded hoodies. Additionally, there will be a social media challenge, and I’m reaching out to a few celebrity athletes to amplify the message.”
Also on that day, Baldie Brigade Apparel will host its full launch at the B&B Power Brunch: A Power-Filled Experience in Norfolk.
“This event is a celebration of strength and beauty, featuring guest speakers, a fashion show, live music, networking opportunities, and the Brave Heart Awards, which honor women who have shown extraordinary courage in their journeys, particularly in embracing hair loss and self-acceptance,” Gregory told MHN. “During the B&B Brunch, we will also present a donation check to Lend A Secondhand Inc. to support their nonprofit mission.”
