To her distinctly unique credit, Dr. Alvina Ryan has spent nearly four decades functioning fervently in her divine element.
By year’s end in 2024, she was honored for her valiant global contributions.
The esteemed Montreal, Quebec philanthropist was named a recipient of the 2024 Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award under Joseph R. Biden and Vice-President Kamala Harris’ administration.
Dr. Ryan was honored this past December during an official ceremony in Philadelphia.

“My heart was overjoyed,” Dr. Ryan, during a recent interview with Making Headline News, said of her latest honor. “It felt like a beautiful recognition of decades of service.”
Dr. Ryan’s rise to acquire her latest international accolade comes amid her notable role as Conference Director for is known as the Master Guide In Training Leadership Program (MIT).
“(That was) something I had worked towards and been trained for,” Dr. Ryan of a post that helped her garner high praise and make her presence felt. “The timing felt divine. It reminded me of Hebrews 6:10: ‘God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them.’”
Generally, the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award is widely regarded as one of the highest honors presented to individuals who have overcome significant obstacles to achieve impressive accomplishments, thus dedicating their lives to advocating for the most vulnerable among humanity and acted with bravery to drive change in their communities — and across the world — while blazing trails for generations to come.

In essence, the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award is designed in large part to shine the spotlight on honorees of their respective community, particularly for their unwavering dedication to bettering the lives of others, the community, and ultimately the country.
Nearly seven months removed from having been christened with the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award, Dr. Ryan emphasized, among other things, she’s committed to having a huge impact in the role to which she was called to serve.
“While there hasn’t been an official public response, I remain deeply committed to the ministry, working alongside a dedicated and passionate team of leaders,” said Dr. Ryan, who currently serves as Assistant Conference Director for MIT. “One of my key responsibilities is leading the English Master Guide in Training (MIT) Leadership Program, a two-year initiative designed to equip future leaders to serve effectively in their churches and communities.”
Also, through the MIT program, candidates gain practical skills such as knot-tying, lashing, camping, effective communication, and youth mentorship,” Dr. Ryan explained.
“It’s a comprehensive leadership journey that prepares them to serve with confidence and compassion,” Dr. Ryan told MHN. “As for me, I will continue serving with the same passion and purpose God has placed in my heart. I’m committed to this work until He calls me elsewhere or raises up the next generation to lead.”
Interestingly enough, Dr. Ryan in October 2024 learned she was a recipient for the International Book Awards in large part because of her published masterpiece, iPray On Purpose Because: Prayers For Faith, Hope, Victory & Deliverance.
FULFILLING HER DESTINY
Dr. Ryan’s featured written work was selected as the winner in the Non-Fiction—Religion/Inspiration category.
A book that is comprised of 175 pages in length, Ryan’s iPray On Purpose Because was officially published in November 2020 and, much to her delight, has been as good as advertised.
“I was thrilled to be selected,” Dr. Ryan said of being named a recipient for an International Book Award during an April ceremony in Phoenix. “Many people don’t realize the depth of effort, time, and dedication that goes into writing a book. They only see the finished product. While I became a bestselling author back in 2001, receiving this award has taken that joy to another level. I’m even more honored to now be recognized as an award-winning author.”
A longtime educator, massage therapist, spa expert, and resourceful businesswoman, Dr. Ryan boasts over 20 years in her chosen line of work.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science (with honors in Athletic Therapy) from Concordia University, as well as a Healthcare Management degree from the John Molson School of Business.
In addition, she has completed a Peak Potentials leadership-training program, which gave way to her acquiring a trainer’s credential.

The head massage therapist for the Montreal Alouettes football team for the past 14 years, Dr. Ryan has worked as a teacher and trainer for various educational institutions and companies since 1996.
Generally, her experience in the sports industry includes working with numerous top-performing athletes and Olympic champions.
To her credit, Dr. Ryan continues to teach massage therapy in several of Montreal’s best institutions and offers her consulting services to various area spas.
