BREAK EVERY CHAIN

Christina Denise Hunt certainly dreamt it.
Much to her delight, it undoubtedly came to pass.
“I have dreamed of becoming a bestselling author for as long as I can remember,” Hunt told Making Headline News as part its annual Salute To Women’s History Month celebration. “Ever since I was a little girl, I have loved writing. Writing has always been my escape, my safe place, and the avenue through which I processed my deepest thoughts, emotions, and experiences.
“From a young age, I filled notebooks, journals, and diaries with prayers, reflections, and poems, believing that one day those words might become something meaningful beyond the pages.”
And so it ultimately came to pass, Hunt’s Doing Time In My Own Mind: A Poetic Journey of Soul Freedom, her latest authorship project that, much to her delight, is as good advertised.

By all accounts, Doing Time In My Own Mind: A Poetic Journey of Soul Freedom is not just a book, Hunt emphasized.
“It’s power on a page,” the author says without hesitation. “It’s an invitation to embrace your breakthrough, step into your healing, and welcome a brand-new beginning. Grab your tissues, your journal, and an open heart, because change is on the horizon.”
Interestingly enough, Hunt said amongst the things that makes her latest book unique is that it was never originally intended to be published.
“The content of this book was written over the course of seven years while I was walking through some of the darkest seasons of my life,” Hunt told MHN. “During that time, God was leading me through a deeply personal healing journey as I confronted trauma, depression, painful memories, and the quiet battles that often take place within the mind.”
As Hunt recalls, it all started out as a real-time, intimate dialogue, of sorts, with Almighty God.
“What began as private journal entries, midnight prayers, and honest conversations between myself and God, eventually revealed themselves to be something much greater — a roadmap of freedom not only for me, but for others who are struggling silently,” said Hunt, recalling the assortment of development surround the production of her new book. “About six months before the book was published, I felt God clearly impress upon my heart that it was time to turn these writings into a book. It was as if He was saying, ‘You have completed this chapter of your life. Now help someone else who is still walking through that valley.’”

For what it’s worth, Hunt, at one point in time, admittedly found herself questioning if she should actually move forward with the book project.
“At first, I hesitated, because the material is deeply personal and extremely vulnerable,” Hunt explained. “But I chose to obey. I realized that transparency and authenticity are exactly what many people need in order to truly begin to heal from their own trauma and inner wounds. So many people suffer silently, and this book helps break that silence and makes way for true freedom.”
Hunt would ultimately begin the legwork on Doing Time In My Own Mind sometime in 2017 or, as she recalls, during arguably one of the most difficult seasons of her life.
“Over the next seven years, the poems, reflections, and journal entries continued to grow as I walked through the healing process,” Hunt said. “What started as scattered journal writings slowly became a testimony of transformation. After months of revisiting, refining, and structuring those writings, the final manuscript was completed just a few short weeks before the book was published in 2024.”
SET ASIDE FOR GOD’S USE

For her valiant authorship efforts, Hunt has become the beneficiary of an assortment of rave reviews for a book that figures to help enrich and enhance lives for years to come.
Prior to releasing Doing Time In My Own Mind, Hunt penned the following journals: Dear God, Lord I Thank Ya, Daily Affirmations, and I Changed My Mind.
Additional reads, she said, are forthcoming.
“Absolutely,” Hunt said. “This book is only the beginning.”
