Conversely, for those who might perhaps endure their share of struggles and spiritually discouraging encounters while bearing a child, Davis has gone to great lengths to meet expecting moms at their dire point of need.

An accomplished empowerment entrepreneur in her own right, Davis is the Owner and Founder of Mommy2box LLC, her Killeen, Texas-based organization that is centered largely on bringing awareness to moms, particularly those who are battling mental health issues.

Generally, most of Davis’s responsibilities through her thriving organization are geared specifically toward empowering pregnant women through variety of events during which she will inspire by way of providing gift baskets, as well as conducting empowerment speaking engagements.

A venture that went into full operations in January 2019, Davis’ Mommy2box LLC has enjoyed immeasurable strides since its ceremonious inception, in large part because of her strategic mission for having established her rising organization.

“I want more woman to be able to speak about their experiences, as well as others to be well informed on how to react,” Davis, 26, told Making Headline News this week.

Interestingly, Davis’ Mommy2box LLC’s primary focus is geared toward who are pregnant women, especially those who acquire mental issues amid a life-altering miscarriage or postpartum, she acknowledged.

Because some women, by all accounts, often face mental issues during pregnancy, Davis sensed it was her civic duty to become an advocate for such a pressing, emotionally driven issue that many seem to disregard all too often.

According to a report by World Health Organization, medical experts cited that worldwide, about 10 percent of pregnant women and 13 percent of women who have just given birth experience a mental disorder, primarily depression.

What’s evening more astounding, according to the report at https://www.who.int/mental_health/maternal-child/maternal_mental_health/en/, is that in developing countries, that number is even higher, as roughly 15.6 percent women endure a mental disorder during pregnancy, while approximately 19.8 percent after child birth.

“In severe cases, mothers’ suffering might be so severe that they may even commit suicide,” said a spokesperson for World Health Organization. In addition, the affected mothers cannot function properly. As a result, the children’s growth and development may be negatively affected as well. Maternal mental disorders are treatable. Effective interventions can be delivered even by well-trained non-specialist health providers.”

Also, according to the WHO report, it cites that virtually all women can develop mental disorders during pregnancy and in the first year after delivery, but poverty, migration, extreme stress, exposure to violence — most notably domestic, sexual and gender-based —  emergency and conflict situations, natural disasters, and low social support generally increase risks for specific disorders.

An organization that services women ranging from teenage moms to those in their early-to-mid 50’s, that Davis customarily shepherd women through arguably the most challenging times of their lives only reinforces the necessity of an organization such as Mommy2box LLC.

“What I like the most is the stories I hear of how a family member or a friend of a mom learned something from my business,” Davis, a native of Savannah, Georgia, said. “(I appreciate) they’ve learned that it’s not just about the babies, but also about the mom.”

Nearly a year-and-a-half removed from having launched her organization, amongst Davis’ strategic ambitions is to bring awareness of her movement to medical facilities around the country.

“My personal mission is to get my signature box in every hospital and birthing center in America,” Davis says without hesitation. “Just how moms are gifted with diapers when they leave the hospital, a simple gift box is just as important. “It’s imperative to be an inspiration in the smallest way because I was that person, looking for the smallest bit of hope that I couldn’t see. I saw no end to my depression, and I just want to be a step in the right direction for someone else.”

BEACON OF LIGHT 

Given the commendable strides she made in such a brief timeframe since the startup of her organization, she certainly seems well on her way to having a monumental impact.

Amongst the reasons is that she undoubtedly has a heart for people.
