Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. (1 Corinthians 15:58 NIV)
YES, LORD!!!
DALLAS — Much to her delight, Norvella Smith’s God-manifested vision as a published author emerged some two-plus decades ago.
Given the immeasurable success she’s since enjoyed, she’s forever grateful to Almighty God for strategically bestowing upon her supernatural favor as a gifted, faith-based writer.
“God gave me the vision and dream to write my first book back in 1999 and I began journaling,” Smith recalls.
The book to which Smith is alluding is The Capacity To Believe: A Journal By Queen Norvella Smith, her featured written work that, by all accounts, has evolved as a massive must-read since its ceremonious release five years ago.

As part of Making Headline News’ advance national media coverage for Bishop T. D. Jakes 2024 International Leadership Summit from Dallas, Texas March 21-23, Smith, an accomplished Houston, Texas-based author, spoke at length about how the Holy Spirit infused within the vision for the title of a book that “came to me as I sat in worship service one Sunday morning.”
As Smith vividly recalls, her fervent quest to compose her first book surfaced, during which she was visiting another congregation, she told MHN.
“(I was) away from my home church,” Smith said. “I began writing in 1999 through journaling, but kept putting it off until my sister, Cathy, encouraged me one day to just do it. My first book was completed and published in December 2018.”
And, to her distinctly unique credit, her premiere published document has been as good as advertised ever since.
A riveting, spiritually-empowering book that is comprised of 178 pages, The Capacity To Believe: A Journal By Queen Norvella Smith is a compilation of stories, affirmations, and journaling, of all which will translate into re-discovering who you are and what you are made of after the trials and the tests, according to detailed synopsis of this author’s book via Amazon.com.

“God can use them all to make you His mouthpiece of victory, triumph, and grace,” said an Amazon spokesperson for Smith’s The Capacity To Believe. “Believe that your capacity is immeasurable. Knowing and believing that you are valuable is key in finding your peace after the storm. Belief is a powerful thing! Read how one woman’s story became His-story and how immeasurable faith and prayer equals immeasurable capacity!
“In her book, you will read about some of the author’s personal journey and testimony. Smith is passionate about helping others and has created this book and journal to help others in overcoming obstacles in dealing with a different ability, challenges in relationships, brokenness, betrayal, triumph, and ultimately finding peace.”
A little less than five years after witnessing the release of her first book, Smith subsequently graced the pages of Visionistas: Women Who Think Outside The Box, her sophomore written that came to fruition by way of an anthology.
An intriguing collaborative project that is accompanied by 152 pages and 10 co-authors, Visionistas: A Collection of Inspirational Stories reminds us that “Empowerment is a catalyst, an evolution,” as mentioned via Amazon.com.
“Through the process, an individual becomes an agent of change,” said an Amazon spokesperson for Visionistas: Women Who Think Outside The Box. “More simply put, it’s the ‘can do’ factor, going from ‘I can’t’ to ‘I can.’ Women’s Empowerment is a movement of self-respect, honor, and prevail for all women. It gives women the freedom to be who they were created to be without the inhibiting permission and approval of others. Visionistas: A Collection of Inspirational Stories is a compilation of experiences from powerful women.
“Each author gives insight into her personal process of conquering her fears to achieve her dreams, executing her voice so that she is heard, and creating opportunities so that her work is meaningful. Their hope is that women never lose their spark, sense of adventure, or qualities that makes them unique. Each author desires for every woman to realize her strength by embracing her journey.”
Said Smith when asked when asked what inspired her to become an author:
“One single reason I decided to write each book — including my first — was to help someone else through my own experiences and challenges. I felt that I was walking in my purpose as long as my reasons were unselfish and not meant to tear down, but to uplift in some way and expose and inspire hope in everything.”
Since the release of both books, Smith has become the beneficiary of a rash of favorable feedback.
“I’ve collected a lot of information from my readers that literally changed my life and my perspectives on the journey to healing, being healed and never giving up no matter what,” Smith told MHN. “Through all of my writings, I’m sending messages of trusting God in all things, believe that impossible is possible, inspiration, value, hope, determination, joy, peace, self- love, abundance and, most of all, valuing oneself and knowing that we are all kings and queens. I began building a brand around Queen Norvella that took off in the world.”
Five-plus years removed from making her authorship debut, Smith said other book projects are forthcoming, most notably FootPrints of Success, her third published project that is an anthology and is in its production infancy stages.
“(The first) draft was completed in December 2023,” said Smith, adding that her second solo-authored book is forthcoming at a date that has yet to be determined.

Interestingly enough, Smith emphasized, among other things, her divine purpose as a faith-based writer had essentially become clear prior to composing her first book.
“But I allowed circumstances and self-doubt keep me from putting it in a published work,” Smith explained. “I’ve always helped others through conversations, personal notes, and public speaking, which began in 1999, and my purpose became crystal clear as I wrote my first book, The Capacity To Believe. This book has changed so many lives, including my own. When you walk in purpose, it’s always for the benefit of others.”
As her authorship journey continues, Smith is thoroughly convinced she’s in the midst of what she suitably describes as “a season of beginning again for me.”
“I’m recently divorced again, but I’m inspired to keep pushing forward,” Smith told MHN. “I’m in my Philippians 3 season. I’m forgetting those things behind me and pushing forward. I write about my past challenges to help others. I leave what’s in my past as it pertains to holding me hostage. I’m able to walk in my season, knowing that it was all for my good and just a setback for a great comeback.”
