She considers a field and buys it; with the fruit of her hands, she plants a vineyard. (Proverbs 31:16 ESV)
A SERVANT’S HEART
Angie L. Woods would be the first to admit she doesn’t take for granted the mentor with whom she was blessed to cross paths.
As Woods recalls, it was that life-altering divine connection that has greatly enabled her to find her fervent niche in her chosen profession.
“After connecting with my mentor, I saw the power of empowerment,” Woods, during an interview this week with Making Headline News, said, recalling the memorable developments surrounding the startup of her featured business endeavor. “Therefore, I branded my businesses as Empowering Lives. My God-given purpose is to empower people and develop leaders.”
Indeed, it is for Woods, whose Empowering Lives Counseling & Consulting, LLC, to her credit, has emerged as one of the nation’s finest family private practices of its kind.
SALUTING WOMEN WHO SHAPE OUR WORLD
WHO IS ANGIE L. WOODS? https://empoweringlives.net/about/
An accomplished Columbia, South Carolina-based Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist who has enjoyed a wealth of success in her chosen line of work throughout the years, Woods’ Empowering Lives Counseling & Consulting serves as a three-fold conglomerate that consists of wide range of entities, notably Counseling and Consulting, a Global Academy, and a Foundation, according to detailed synopsis of her firm via https://empoweringlives.net/about/.
For instance, Counseling and Consulting entails therapeutic services for insured and paid clients. Conversely, the Global Academy provides Christian counseling, a discipleship program, premarital counseling, seminars, workshops, conferences, and speaking engagements.
Meanwhile, the Foundation leg of Empowering Lives Counseling & Consulting is a nonprofit organization that customarily provides services and resources to those who are economically disadvantaged, based upon qualifications.
As part of Making Headline News’ 2024 Essence Music Festival advance coverage leading to the “the party with a purpose” event July 5-7 in New Orleans, Woods, 56, emphasized, among other things, amongst the things she’s embraced about her practice is witnessing the continuous growth, change, and development in others.
“My mission is to provide tools, resources, and psychoeducation to families that foster compassion and cooperation so that they live with a greater sense of peace, prosperity, and happiness,” Woods told MHN.
Interestingly enough, Woods developed and launched a Bible-teaching program called Discipleship With A Therapeutic Twist and, along with her husband, the couple collectively spearheaded what they labeled an annual sold-out entity called, Valentine’s Dinner and Date Night With the Therapist.

“As a Marriage and Family Therapist, I cater to the whole family,” said Woods, whose current clientele ranges between the ages of 15-to-60.
Having been actively involved in Christian Counseling for over 23 years, Woods has become a fixture in providing mental health services as a licensed clinician for over five years.
As for her itinerary, Woods will serve as a facilitator for the Department of The Interior Mentoring Program’s Communicating with People Who Have Different Roles, Goals, or Perspectives, July 2 and August 29.
Details, she said, are pending during which she would serve as a keynote speaker for Women’s Empowerment Session October 12 entitled, Breaking Chains and Healing.
This event is tentatively scheduled to take place in St. Louis.
EMPOWERED TO EMPOWER
“I believe that daily uplifting and inspiration are key ingredients to building self-esteem,” said Woods, explaining why it is imperative to esteem others daily. “As a therapist, I see how low self-esteem affects mental health. I endeavor to build, uplift, develop, and empower others. I often say, ‘An empowerment specialist is who I am, empowering lives is what I do.’”
Like her mentor, that, too, is something she won’t merely take for granted.
