But I have this against you, that you have abandoned the love you had at first. Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent, and do the works you did at first. If not, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place, unless you repent. (Revelation 2:4-5/ESV)
ADVANCING THE KINGDOM
For what it’s worth, Ashley Thompson McClelland’s latest authorship adventure is centered in large part on one pivotal, life-altering trend: her fervent quest of strategically empowering the Body of Christ to return to its First Love.
“I chose to be a part of the production of this book to help the church fall in love with Jesus again and discover her identity as the beloved bride of Christ,” McClelland, an accomplished Monterey, California faith-based writer, told Making Headline News during a recent interview.
The book to which McClelland is alluding is The Runaway Bride of Christ: Overcoming Church Hurt, Dr. Sherley Lefevre’s latest published masterpiece that, by all accounts, has set off a fervent buzz across various message boards and social media platforms.
“I believe many people initially receive salvation with a child-like faith, excitement and joy that is pleasing to God,” said McClelland, explaining her vision behind joining Dr. Lefevre’s Amazon No. 1 Bestseller anthology. “Many people experience a pure love and passion for Jesus that is uncomplicated and beautiful. However, most people begin to lose their zeal for God after years of life and they fall into a mechanical Christianity where they are going through the motions of attending church and do Christian things but there is little personal relationship with Jesus.

Moreover, McClelland acknowledged, she goes as far as to suggests that the Bible “stops being alive and active” when it’s supposed to be the “living Word of God” in our hearts.
“The presence of the Holy Spirit and hearing from God to be led by his Spirit beings to wane in their experience,” McClelland further explained. “This is what happened to me. I was derailed by a spirit of religion, and I almost lost my first love zeal for Jesus until He opened my eyes to the deadly trap of Christian professionalism and brought me back to the simplicity of having a pure-hearted relationship with Him where I could be guided by the Holy Spirit and transformed into His image.”
According to Dr. Lefevre, she and her fellow co-authors began her latest book collaboration project in the Spring 2024 and was done with their respective chapters towards the end of summer.

McClelland, meanwhile, needed just a few weeks to assemble her selected chapter, one that has given way to her becoming the beneficiary of an assortment of rave reviews.
“So far, several people have messaged me and described the book as ‘powerful,’ profound,’ and they have said they’ve experienced a similar dampening of their faith with the religious spirit in church,” McClelland told MHN. “Also, one reviewer said she’s also encountered the false new age spirits that I describe in my chapter that have infiltrated many churches in disguise by mimicking the manifestations of the Holy Spirit.”
The Runaway Bride of Christ: Overcoming Church Hurt is McClelland’s fifth book to date and her second anthology.
McClelland made her authorship debut in March 2018 with the release of Visions of Celestial Love: An Invitation Into Healing Intimacy.
Consequently, she released her sophomore written work, Romantic Rendezvous For The Soul: Pleasure That Makes You Whole, in December 2019, followed by her third solo-authored book, Fallen Coins: A Lesson On The Blessings of Obedience, in August 2023.
MASSIVE MUST READ
Then in November 2023, McClelland collaborated with His Beauty For My Ashes, Dr. Lefevre’s Amazon No. 1 Bestseller anthology.
Other books, she said, are forthcoming.
“Yes, I am currently in the process of editing my second romance novella,” said McClelland, referring to His Liberating Flame. “It is a fictional story that portrays the beautiful blessings that come from trusting Jesus you’re your love life. I am praying it will help many women who are dating and seeking a life-long spouse.”
According to McClelland, her next book is currently in the production phase and is scheduled to be available for purchase in December.
