Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. (1 Corinthians 15:58 NIV)
WITH NATIONAL HONORS
Sandy Moye’s steadfast commitment to bringing about awareness with regards to the foster care system is about to pay off mightily.
For her valiant contributions, Moye recently learned she had been named a 2024 recipient for the Joseph R. Biden Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award.
The Atlanta-area businesswoman and philanthropist will be officially honored during what is suitably dubbed the Inaugural 2024 Presidential Lifetime Achievement Awards on Saturday, December 7 at the Springhill Suites Marriott, located at 20350 Northwest Freeway in Houston.
Generally, The Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award is widely considered one of the highest honors presented to individuals who have overcome significant obstacles to achieve impressive accomplishments, thus dedicated their lives to advocating for the most vulnerable among humanity and acted with bravery to drive change in their communities — and across the world — while blazing trails for generations to come.
SALUTING WOMEN WHO SHAPE OUR WORLD
For Moye, a devout woman of faith who has become a fixture to the foster care system throughout the years, her fervent rise to being named the beneficiary for a nationally-acclaimed award comes amid humble beginnings.
An honor she will receive in large part because of her notable community service contributions, Moye emphasized, among other things, her latest achievement is testament to the notion that her labor was never in vain.
“The event’s purpose is to honor individuals who have made profound contributions to their communities and society,” Moye told Making Headline News during a recent interview. “I’ve been selected for The Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award for my unwavering commitment to community service, media, and advocacy.
“While I advocate for domestic violence victims — whether women, men, or children — there is also significant emphasis on my role as a partnership parent to children in foster care. Since 2017, I’ve had the privilege of being a partnership parent to ten children and adopting two beautiful children.”
Moreover, Moye said she describes her tireless work to foster care system as a “rewarding experience,” given she’s been afforded the golden opportunity to provide a “loving and stable” environment to children who need it most.

“This dedication to children in foster care, coupled with my advocacy for domestic violence survivors, have shaped my mission to support vulnerable communities,” Moye said. “In addition to these roles, I’ve inspired audiences through my work in media, using storytelling, speaking engagements, and creative projects to address social issues. Throughout my career, I’ve used my platform to promote healing and recovery, focusing on empowerment, purpose, and transformation.”
To her credit, Moye has adopted two children — Gabriel and Hannah — over the past eight years, an awe-inspiring, life-altering experience she admittedly wouldn’t trade for anything else in the world.
Interestingly enough, Moye in recent years had become inspired to shed light on the importance of adoption, in large part because November is recognized as National Adoption Month.
National Adoption Day will be observed this year on November 23.
“Adoption is important to me because it gives me the opportunity to give unconditional love to many children precious children,” Moye told MHN during a November 2022 interview. “And the many blessings God have given me in order to take care of them, although I could be deploying on a regular basis with my job, which I have enjoyed over the years that only brought me temporary happiness.”
Since word spread of forthcoming honor, Moye has become the beneficiary of an abundance of favorable feedback.
“The public has responded with overwhelming support and positivity,” Moye said. “Many people, especially those familiar with my work in foster care, have expressed admiration and gratitude. I’ve received heartfelt messages from individuals who have been inspired by my journey as a partnership parent and adoptive mother. People are eager to see more light shed on the importance of supporting children in foster care, and there’s a shared excitement about how this honor will help amplify my advocacy for these children.”
BLESSINGS ON BLESSINGS
Moye learned in July she had been named a recipient of one of the nation’s most prestigious awards, a development she doesn’t merely take lightly.
“Receiving The Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award feels like the culmination of a lifetime dedicated to uplifting others, particularly children in foster care and survivors of trauma,” Moye said. “This recognition is a testament to the hard work and dedication I’ve poured into my roles as an advocate, a media professional, and most importantly, a parent. It reaffirms my commitment to continue making a difference in the lives of those who need it most.
“As I look to the future, I remain focused on raising awareness about the foster care system and advocating for children who need a stable and loving home,” Moye continued. “While my work with domestic violence survivors will always be part of my mission, my role as an adoptive and partnership parent has brought a new level of purpose to my life. I believe that with love, compassion, and dedication, we can change lives and help children in foster care thrive.
“This award is not just a personal achievement — it’s a call to continue my advocacy and community service, to keep empowering others, and to use my platform to shine a light on the issues that matter most.”
