For what it’s worth, it’s safe to assume that one of Shearese Stapleton’s notable gifts is fortifying the gift of giving.
KNOWLEDGE IS POWER — A longtime educator, Flint, Michigan-area businesswoman Shearese Stapleton deemed it especially essential to start what is known as The Mothers of Joy University, LLC, a strategic, empowering organization that is geared largely toward providing effective, longstanding services that would greatly inspire families to build and sustain a strong community.
Consider, for instance, how Stapleton, 44, a native of Flint, Michigan, had gone to great lengths to aid her fellow residents the best way she knew how during the Flint water crisis that transpired in the area a little more than three years ago.
“When the city I grew up in became the product of led-infected water, when children could not drink or bath with it, (I was) able to develop tools and provide resources during this time when hope was nowhere in sight to fix a problem that has not been fixed,” Stapleton told Making Headline News this week.
To her credit, not only did Stapleton become a fixture during the Flint water crisis, during which the drinking water source for that city was changed to the Flint River and, as a result, more than 100,000 residents were potentially exposed to high levels of lead in the drinking water.
MOM KNOWS BEST — Accompanied by the theme, “”Where Empowing The family Is A Way Of Life,” Stapleton’s Mothers of Joy University organization is in its infancy stages, yet it is making a solid case that it is a resource from which Flint and the surrounding can benefit mightily, especially in the wake of a water crisis that is expected to be completely resolved no sooner than 2020.

FAMILY FOCUS — “My children and, most of all, myself, have always wanted to help and be associates to children and other families, said Stapleton, explaining the primary purpose for her community-based organization. (My primary focus is) to give a different perspective on things that don’t seem changeable.”
For starters, she is a proud alumna Flint Northwestern High School — she graduated in 1991 — and, upon earning her diploma, she earned an Associate’s Degree in Child Development from nearby Mott Community College.
Presently, Stapleton is pursuing a Developmental Psychology Degree from the University of Michigan at Flint with a minor in Social Work (with an emphasis in Family Studies).
When asked why it is imperative to esteem and inspire others daily, Stapleton appropriately said, “Because that one thing you say or do could change someone’s life.”
All of which practically sums up why one of her notable gifts is fortifying the gift of giving.
