DALLAS — Charlie French is only keeping it real.
“My life isn’t perfect, but God thought I was worth it,” French often says without hesitation. “So my mission is to ensure women that it starts within. If I can help one woman recognize her worth, my mission will be complete.”
For French, her awe-inspiring mission is one that, much to her delight, is greatly benefiting her and others in ways unimaginable.
A Dallas/Fort Worth-area businesswoman, French, 38, is the owner and chief executive officer of RAWW, an up-and-coming movement that stands for Recognize A Woman’s Worth.
Through her movement, which French established a “few years ago,” this Shreveport, Louisiana native is widely known for inspiring woman discover and reconnect with their worth by way of her assortment of talents, most notably — but not limited to — as an accomplished professional cosmetologist, fashion designer, inspirational speaker, and mentor.

“My business, in a nutshell, is designed strictly for women,” French told Making Headline News this week. “This organization is to help women focus on their worth, without worrying about society and the stereotypes that have caused the gap amongst women. My business is to empower, evolve elevate but, most importantly, to help women recognize their worth.”
For French, that God is strategically using her for such a pivotal time as now didn’t merely come easy for the former Southern University student, who eventually obtained her cosmetology license from Blue Cliff College in nearby Alexandria, Louisiana.
Amongst the reasons is that in growing up as the oldest of her siblings, French was routinely thrust in a leadership role, of sorts, a trend whereby she sensed she was pressured and, perhaps forced to thrive and excel.
And sometimes, even exceed expectations.
As usual, though, it seemed she customarily welcomed the assortment of challenges that came her way.
“My drive propelled me to always give it my all,” French said. “Failure wasn’t and option. But growing up without the guidance and support I needed as a child, my drive became my survival. That’s why I’m so adamant about my business. Not having support is something us as women lack.”
That, after all, essentially sums up why French had become greatly inclined to start a movement that would, by all accounts, inspire other women to become inclined to keep it moving in the wake arguably the toughest of obstacles.
“It’s always been my passion to help others, especially women,” French said. “That’s why I became a hairstylist. But God gave me the vision a few years ago (to do more with my gifts and talents).”
To her credit, French has gone to great lengths to do more with which God has birthed her.
Today, unlike never before, she’s thoroughly persuaded that she’s steadily witnessing her purpose unfold right before her very eyes.
Today, unlike never before, she’s thoroughly persuaded it’s time to reach back and help others possess and savor the purpose for which God created them.
“People are going through life not knowing what their purpose is, because they either are afraid to confide (in the people), or because they’ve been hurt or betrayed so much,” French said. “They either hold it in or they don’t have the support. Seventy percent are single mothers, and being a single mother, I feel it’s imperative that we have a solid support system.”
All things considered, this is why RAWW is so prevalent for such a time as now, French emphasized.
“Besides my children being told, ‘No,’ having doors shut in your face, and being betrayed by people I trusted inspired me to never give up on myself,” French said. “I know how it feels not to feel worthy, to be looked down upon because you don’t fit in. I’ve always been the underdog. And I just want to help women get to their purpose point.”
If nothing else, she’s only keeping it real in process.
RAWW and uncut, too.
