KHIANDRA TURNS 40: Dallas minister Tyrone Woods pays homage to his beloved wife, who turns 40 October 27

MAKING HEADLINE NEWS WELCOMES TYRONE AND KHIANDRA WOODS

Because of the unyielding love he routinely exemplifies for his wife, Tyrone Woods was only trying to bask in the glory of the moment.

As usual, he was nothing short of impressive.

During last weekend’s inaugural State Fair Showdown between college football rivals Texas Southern versus Southern University, Woods — roaming the sideline just before the start of the third quarter — went to great lengths to welcome a host of Southern football players and band members to Dallas’ historic Cotton Bowl.

He had a very good reason why.

“I believe she loves Southern University, because it shaped so much of her life,” Woods, during an interview with Making Headline News, said of his wife, Khiandra Woods, a proud graduate of the Baton Rouge, Louisiana-based predominately black institution.

While Tyrone Woods had spent a great amount of time, paying homage to his wife’s alma mater by taking photos of and interacting with SU players, he’d be the first to admit that his love for Khiandra’s college isn’t merely synonymous to the admiration and honor he has for her.

A native of Alexandria, Louisiana, Khiandra will celebrate her 40^th birthday on October 27, a much-anticipated milestone to which her life’s most celebrated individual had been looking forward for quite some time.

“My love for her far exceeds her love for Southern (University),” said Tyrone Woods, a native Willis, Texas. “There is no comparison.”

A Dallas/Fort Worth-area couple who began dating sometime in 2015, Tyrone and Khiandra had eventually changed nuptials in March 2016.

Much to their delight, their close-knit, Christian-based bond has been a thing of beauty with God, their Helper, leading the way.

“Southern (University) could only give guidelines for a path in life,” said Tyrone Woods, drawing a correlation between his love for his wife and how extremely vital it is that he supports her college alma mater. “I am on the path of purpose with (her) every day.”

Credit the couple’s devout faith life that’s centered mostly on Biblical principles as arguably amongst the biggest reasons their interdependence and tireless support for each other, by all accounts, have given way to what has become a solid, inseparable union.

“Together, we seek purpose, find purpose, and together through our love for each other,” said Tyrone Woods, an ordained minister who accepted his calling to preach the gospel approximately a decade ago. “And God as our Head, we obtain and fulfill purpose in our lives. She loves Southern University but I’m in love with her.”

Which ironically goes to show that as Khiandra displays loves for her alma mater, chances are, her beloved husband will be right there, cheering on the Jags alongside her.

As evidenced by last weekend’s SWAC showdown that had ultimately ended with SU coming away with a 21-7 win.

Thank God for a favorable outcome involving the Woods’ favorite HBCU.

“The way she changed my life and ministry for the better is that she married me,” Tyrone Woods said of the immeasurable impact his wife has had on his life. “Everything that makes me better is wrapped up in her.”

Some pretty remarkably amazing comments by this preacher-turned-SU fan whom, given his public honor to his wife, should be given a free pass on purchasing a birthday card. Then again…

“Happy birthday sweetheart,” Tyrone Woods said with such authority as his wife’s 40^th birthday looms. “God blessed me with you. It is my desire that every year I’m blessed to be with you, I get better so that I can make your life better. I love you!”

Once again, he was nothing short of impressive.
