Wait on the Lord; be of good courage, and He shall strengthen thine heart; wait, I say, on the Lord. (Psalm 27:14 KJV)
GOD’S FAITH STEPPER
Selena Edwards could be appropriately described as a woman of many hats.
Consider, for instance, the immeasurable strides Edwards has made in recent years, most notably as a thriving, progressive businesswoman.
“I am the proud owner of three businesses,” Edwards told Making Headline News this week.
The ventures to which Edwards is alluding are her awe-inspiring endeavors known as Selena’s The Bling Boutique, Selena’s Creative Printing Solutions, and Lay Aside Every Wait Coaching & Development.
For Edwards, a Jacksonville, Florida-based businesswoman, it is due in large part to her fervent passion in this ever-so-competitive entrepreneurship industry that has greatly enabled her to be rather innovative through the gifts by which God has blessed her.
“My passion to be creative is what drove me to step out and start my own businesses,” Edwards explained. “After working in Corporate America for over 30-plus years, I decided to take what I had learned over the years and expand my creativity. I thought, ‘Why not utilize these same skills and talents to build my own destiny?’”
Ever since Edwards deemed it essential to take a massive leap of faith by ceremoniously bolting the Corporate America sector, she’s been nothing short of remarkable, given she’s managed to reap sustained success.
Much to her delight, those with whom she has crossed path through her endeavors have likewise benefited mightily, thanks in large part to her unorthodox, empowering style of life coaching.
“Many are seeking to make a lasting impression with their clients and event attendees,” Edwards said. “However, they just don’t have the necessary tools or creativity to create their own marketing products and/or custom apparel. The problem that Selena’s The Bling Boutique and Selena’s Creative Printing Solutions solve is that. I create it for them based off of their specifications.”
Since delving off into the entrepreneurship industry some six years ago, Edwards has gone to great lengths to ensure her venture emerge as a step above the rest.
To her distinctly unique credit, she’s been as good as advertised.
“I own a very unique business that customizes various products from apparel to bling shoes utilizing several material types and processes,” Edwards said.
Interestingly, Edwards often hosts webinar trainings and provide one-on-one consultations through what is known as “How To Start Your Own T-shirt Business.”
“I also stay connected within the community by hosting bling parties for special occasions,” Edwards explained. “I strive to help others as much as I can.”
It is because of her servant’s heart approach as a solid businesswoman that, in turn, has given way to Edwards becoming a Certified Life Coach, an endeavor that customarily affords her the golden opportunity to assist others in their respective business, not to mention help them to strategically build from the ground up by allowing them access to new tools, techniques, and resources to leverage their business, she said.
The CEO of a trio of custom design businesses that cater individuals and groups of all ages and demographics — “This is a plus,” she said — Edwards said arguably the best things she loves about having evolved as a successful entrepreneur is the flexibility that’s customarily at her disposal.
“I am my own boss who has complete control over my destiny,” Edwards says with pure confidence. “I set all the rules.”

Given her solid educational background, she clearly has earned the right to.
Edwards holds an Associate Degree in Arts from Jacksonville’s Florida Community College and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Edward Waters College.
Her community-related contributions include having served as a volunteer for Shands Hospital in its Pastoral Care Unit, as well as volunteered for Hubbard House Clothing Closet, The Birthing Project (as a mentor), Browns Prayer Ministry as an administer, Trinity Rescue Mission during which she helped feed the homeless, and for City Rescue Mission.
“I’ve been in a ‘Season of Helps,’ and all my businesses allow me to help and connect with others,” Edwards said. “Helping others is not just because of my products and services. It gives me an opportunity to encourage and empower someone about their inner greatness. I typically encourage them so that their greatness comes out. I always say that I’m an encourager, not a discourager.”
As for what fueled her quest to go into business for herself, Edwards said: “The inspiration to start my own businesses was simply inspired by a need to step out and prove that I am valuable. Being in Corporate America for so long taught me a lot of life lessons and I’ve always been one to step out on faith.”
Fortunately for Edwards, that she has diligently exercised her faith by embracing entrepreneurship hasn’t given way to any regrets on her part, she acknowledged.
“I just didn’t want to ever have to say, ‘I could have…I should have…or I would have,’” Edwards said. “I basically came to a point in my life where I began to challenge myself. I didn’t want to ever have to live with any regrets about what I didn’t do. I got it all done.”
NEW SEASON, GREATER BLESSINGS
With God her Helper, steering the way.
In addition, Edwards is visionary for what is known as “Girl Get Out Shop & Mingle Expo ™, a quarterly event for local businesses to market their products, goods and services. This platform, she said, also provides vendors with entrepreneurial marketing strategies, concepts, coaching and consultations to help expand and grow their business.
“I currently facilitate monthly business webinars with all of the vendors in the networks to help them develop and grow their businesses,” Edwards said, a published author who’s the mastermind behind the book entitled, Lay Aside Every Wait And Lay Aside Every Wait Inspirational Journal.
EXCERPT FROM SELENA EDWARDS’ BOOK:
“Many of us have tugged back & forth with our heart of faith. We know that faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. So what is it that really tugs at us…..the waiting part! We are a people who really don’t like to wait because it opens the door for non-belief, procrastination, placing our dreams on hold, anxiety, depression, loneliness, isolation and a plethora of other feelings and thoughts that could potentially enter in. The waiting can weigh your heart down, cause your attention to be distracted, consume your energy and at times entangle your feet. Waiting is the hardest part of leveling out our faith to its highest potential and spiritual degree. But …..waiting is part of the process!” — Author Selena Edwards
