If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, Who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. (James 1:5 NIV)
RAISING THE BAR
During an interview this week with Making Headline News, Debbie Curley was asked what she likes the most about her business venture.
As usual, she was very much up for what is customarily an intriguing conversation.
“Great question!” Curley said without hesitation. “I love having the opportunity to celebrate with my clients the most. When they hit their goals, it’s major…especially faster than they believed to be possible. On this journey setting and reaching achievements is so important.”
The journey to which Curley is alluding is her awe-inspiring endeavor as a fixture for What Debt LLC, a company that has become a fixture for aiding individuals on what is known as consumer credit restoration.
Located at 126 East Burke Street in Martinsburg, West Virginia, What Debt LLC has garnered wide range success, in large part because it is known for helping consumers establish new credit and, much to their delight, restore existing credit.

“Our program is geared to not only creating financial freedom, but we also educate our clients,” Curley said. “By educating our clients, we can begin to break those generational curses of not knowing.”
An accomplished financial consultant in her own right, Curley’s rise to entrepreneurial success has emerge primarily because she strives fervently to build and establish business for new and existing small businesses.
Generally, this is done largely by way of strategic, effective steps that, in turn, help consumers set up business properly, a trend What Debt exemplifies by appropriately branding its correctly, Curley said.
“We offer business trade lines, NET 30 accounts, Fleet accounts, and make them fundable in six months or less,” Curley explained. “I also love training new agents and bringing them into the field. We create opportunities and forge partner relationships with like-minded individuals who share one vision — ridding our communities of debt and creating wealth. Entrepreneurship is vital, especially right now and all that’s going on is living proof.”
Approximately six years removed from having acquired a degree in Information Technology, Curley’s success in her selected line of work comes amid humble beginnings, something by which she doesn’t take lightly.
MAKING MAJOR STRIDES
“After working a few years in the (information technology) field, I realized it wasn’t something I wanted to do forever,” Curley said.
Fortunately for the Washington D.C. native, it wasn’t long thereafter that she had ultimately crossed paths with the divine purpose for which she was created.
“I started studying finance and credit and was shocked how much I didn’t know,” said Curley, who currently resides in Martinsburg, West Virginia. “I (then) began teaching my friends what I learned about credit, finances, the benefits of owning a business and home ownership, realizing I enjoyed teaching this and how rewarding it was to see them achieving awesome results. My new passion was born and is more than rewarding.”
For what it’s worth, becoming knowledgeable about credit restoration is a far cry from the pros and cons of finances Curley was taught growing up.
“We were not taught about credit, let alone credit utilization in my household,” Curley said. “Despite having many entrepreneurs in our family, no one talked about credit, investments, homeownership, or the benefits to having a business. I knew many other people were in this same situation, so this was my driving factor.”
A business that services clients ranging mostly between the ages of 21 to 60 — “but you only have 18 or over to use our services,” she acknowledged — Curley is appreciative of the fact that every now and then, youths will reach out to her to discuss all things credit.
“I am constantly networking everywhere,” Curley said. “I don’t want to assume anyone doesn’t need the services we offer. Our services are only used in the United States. We work with clients in all 50 states.
“My personal mission is to educate people on the importance and benefits of having good credit,” Curley continued. “My motto is to, ‘Dream big and then go get it.’ It’s all about your mindset. Let’s break the generational curse of not knowing and begin teaching our youth. After all, they’re the generations that will care for us one day.”
Having commenced to studying credit and finance in 2016 during which she started her own credit repair journey, Curley’s What Debt LLC was established in 2019.
To her credit, this company has since helped hundreds of families change their dreaded and unsatisfactory financial situations “for the better,” she emphasized.
“(We’re committed to) creating new homeowners, car owners, and new business partners in the process,” Curley said.
Without hesitation.
Once again.
“I remember when I began thinking about becoming a homeowner,” Curley recalls. “I wanted a certain style home in a certain area with absolutely no idea where to begin. I knew my credit was not really good — the mid 400’s. And I needed to change that to reach my goal.”
To her credit, Curley didn’t waver until she reaped the favorable results she so desperately sought.
“I found a credit repair specialist and that was how my journey began,” she said. “I was uneducated on both the credit and homebuying experience. I knew there were many other people out there like me who needed help but was unsure on where to begin.
“The credit restoration process changed my life and transformed my family’s future forever,” Curley added. “There is power in being authentic and comfortable sharing your story. When we are transparent and share with our clients, they become hopeful it can happen for them as well. Our clients see our excitement, how far we have come in our process, and they get super excited about their future.”
Just like the opportunistic Curley did.
