Alabama author Monique Pettaway-Ray savoring the ‘abundant life’ Christ came to give us through a new book

I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. (Romans 8:18 NIV)

Monique Pettaway-Ray was in the process of living her best life.

At least, she sensed she was.

As Pettaway-Ray recalled like yesterday, she was approximately six months removed from having exchanged nuptials with the man of her dreams.

POINTING TOWARD THE HEAVENS — A native of Saraland, Alabama, Monique Pettaway-Ray is amongst a gallery of accomplished authors who have joined forces to compose the book, “I Rise, Living Beyond The Bruises” which is scheduled to be officially released in December.

As if that wasn’t enough to bring her to all smiles, she had eventually landed a rather commendable entry-level position as a middle school science instructor in Huntsville, Alabama.

Life, as she knew it, was the life she sensed she fully deserved, was the life she had worked so diligently to reap and possess with God, her Helper, leading the way.

Then just like that, the enemy — just as he always does — had ultimately showed his true colors, considering Pettaway-Ray’s life had suddenly “imploded,” according to a spokesperson for her book entitled, “Incarcerated But Free: How To find Freedom From Your Mental Prison.”

LEAD OFF HITTER — Having made her authorship debut a little more than a decade ago, Pettaway-Ray’s “Incarcerated But Free: How To find Freedom From Your Mental Prison” took somewhere in the neighborhood of about five years to compose.

That’s because her newlywed husband was consequently convicted for murder and sentenced to life in prison without parole.

“A vital part of her life was ripped from her and Monique didn’t know how to cope,” according to a spokesperson in a detailed breakdown of her September 2007 released book.

Fast forward some 11 years later, Pettaway-Ray, a longtime educator for the Mobile (Ala.) County Public Schools System, has deemed it essential to collectively share of her assortment of life-changing testimonies through another awe-inspiring project along with a host of other writers.

A native of  Saraland, Alabama, Pettaway-Ray is amongst a gallery of accomplished authors who have joined forces to compose the book, “I Rise, Living Beyond The Bruises.”

ONE PRECIOUS, GODLY GIFT — An empowering, kingdom-advancing written document, “I Rise, Living Beyond The Bruises” is forwarded by Flint, Michigan-based author Precious S. Brown and is scheduled to make its official release on the market on December 17.

An empowering, kingdom-advancing written document, “I Rise, Living Beyond The Bruises” is forwarded by Flint, Michigan-based author Precious S. Brown and is scheduled to make its official release on the market on December 17.

During a recent interview with Making Headline News, Pettaway-Ray was complementary of Brown for obeying the Voice of God by establishing a notable platform for her and other authors to tell of God’s goodness through their slew of trials and tribulations.

“I chose to be a part of this book, because there are so many people who are living in their own mental prison who don’t have a support system or guidance to help them overcome their pains,” Pettaway-Ray said. “This book will help women find healing and support they are seeking.”

All things considered, amongst the things about which Pettaway-Ray found especially intriguing was Brown’s keen ability to fortify agape love, coupled with her willingness to display transparency.

FINDING HER SPIRITUAL NICHE — Pettaway-Ray, a longtime educator for the Mobile (Ala.) County Public Schools System, has deemed it essential to collectively share of her assortment of life-changing testimonies through another awe-inspiring project along with a host of other writers.

“I began the journey of writing this book when I teamed up with Precious Brown of Kilgore Publishing,” Pettaway-Ray explained. “She told me about her vision of this current book and when I heard the title, I truly felt in my spirit that this was a book I definitely wanted to be a part of, because I believe everyone has a story and that everyone’s story can inspire hope and change someone’s life.”

Having made her authorship debut a little more than a decade ago, Pettaway-Ray’s “Incarcerated But Free: How To find Freedom From Your Mental Prison” took somewhere in the neighborhood of about five years to compose.

As for her latest project, it didn’t take as long, in large part because all things considered, God had already showed Himself strong amid the enemy having shown his true colors.

IN AWE OF GOD — As for Pettaway-Ray’s latest project, it didn’t take as long to complete, in large part because all things considered, God had already showed Himself strong amid the enemy having shown his true colors.

“Before God called me to the ministry, I was broken, hurt, and confused. It was only after I rededicated my life to Christ that God began to reveal to me His purpose for my life. Since then, God has delivered me from my pain and now I am on a mission to help women overcome their challenges and be healed from their past hurts. — Monique Pettaway-Ray

“Because when a woman can be healed from her hurts, she is free to live that abundant life that Christ promised in scripture.”

The abundant, much to Pettaway-Ray’s delight, is something by which she has thoroughly possessed even after having endured arguably the darkest season of her life.

Yep. That’s just like God.

NOT TODAY, DEVIL — The abundant, much to Pettaway-Ray’s delight, is something by which she has thoroughly possessed even after having endured arguably the darkest season of her life.

“The message I am sending to people is that regardless of what you have been through or what experiences you have had, you can still be a vessel used by God,” Pettaway-Ray said. “You just have to realize that there are gifts and talents that lie deep inside and God just wants us to be willing to use those gifts for his glory.

“A gift is not a gift unless you give it to someone,” Pettaway continued. “God expects us to use our gifts for the purpose of helping others. It’s never too late to fulfill passion, purpose, or the power that God has placed inside of you. God only wants a willing vessel.”

Pettaway-Ray would know for sure, considering she’s a vessel who has deemed it a foregone conclusion to be used by God Almighty.

Oklahoma City author Tohnyonah Jackson’s bend-but-don’t-break faith gives way to a life-changing book

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. (Psalm 139:14 NIV)

All jokes aside.

Tohnyonah Jackson is a little more than two years removed from having witnessed the much-anticipated release of her very first book.

BEND BUT DON’T BREAK FAITH STEPPER — And so it came to pass on May 31, 2016 that Tohnyonah Jackson, a native of Oklahoma City, had officially made her authorship debut with release of her spiritually gut-checking written document entitled, “Bending But Not Breaking.”

And boy, it’s surely one that is steadily advancing the kingdom for such a time as now.

“I used to tell my friends I was going to write a book, but it was in a joking way,” Jackson told Making Headline News during a weekend interview. “It didn’t manifest until after my grandfather on my dad’s side of the family passed away in August of 2013, a few days after my first grandchild was born.”

For Jackson, it also was a seemingly dark, turbulent season of her life, during which God had deemed it essential to place her faith on trial unlike never before.

“I battled with God, because that’s not what I wanted to do. I was trying to get into nursing school…test after test, fail after fail. I didn’t understand why I was not passing the tests, missing by 1 to 5 points. Later I realized I wasn’t being obedient and had to write.” — Author Tohnyonah Jackson

And the rest, as they say, was history.

And so it came to pass on May 31, 2016 that Jackson, a native of Oklahoma City, had officially made her authorship debut with release of her spiritually gut-checking written document entitled, “Bending But Not Breaking,” a 62-page, self-published project that depicts the life of a young girl who wanted to be loved by her family, but according to the writer who’s widely known as “Author Tohnyonah,” she wound up discovering that love in her family came disguised in abuse, alcohol, drugs, staying in the homes of several family members.

A MUST READ — A 62-page, self-published project that depicts the life of a young girl who wanted to be loved by her family, but according to the writer who’s widely known as “Author Tohnyonah,” she wound up discovering that love in her family came disguised in abuse, alcohol, drugs, staying in the homes of several family members.

As if those personal encounters weren’t enough to rattle and disrupt the life of this young girl, Tohnyonah recalled having been molested as a child, a development that had ultimately led to her being adopted by another family, which unfortunately had given way to her further being molested and abused.

But God…

However, despite her assortment of struggles and turbulence, Author Tohnyonah steadfastly clung to unwavering faith, believing that God had a strategic plan for her life from the outset, a plan to prosper and not harm her, a plan that would ultimately blossom into a life-changing testimony for the ages, a plan that would catapult her to the purpose for which God created her.

“In this book, (Author Tohnyonah) sees that God’s loving provision doesn’t give more than one can handle,” said a spokesperson for Jackson’s book in a detail breakdown at Amazon.com.

THE ROMANS 8:18 FACTOR — Even upon the sudden deaths of her beloved mother and close aunt, Jackson sensed that she had to carry out of her God-mandated assignment to compose her book.

For Jackson, her quest to assemble her first book came courtesy of her abstaining from leaning unto her own understanding and seeking and consulting God for a sense of direction.

“I didn’t know what to write until I asked and the Holy Spirit, Who said, ‘The beginning,’” Jackson explained. “And so I did.”

Even upon the sudden deaths of her beloved mother and close aunt, Jackson sensed that she had to carry out of her God-mandated assignment to compose her book.

“I didn’t understand why (they passed away), because I was being obedient (to God),” Jackson said. So from August 2013 through May 2016, through all the losses, my book was released the day before my birthday, May 31, 2016.”

SHE’S STILL STANDING — Despite her assortment of struggles and turbulence, Author Tohnyonah steadfastly clung to unwavering faith, believing that God had a strategic plan for her life from the outset, a plan to prosper and not harm her, a plan that would ultimately blossom into a life-changing testimony for the ages, a plan that would catapult her to the purpose for which God created her.

Much to Jackson’s delight, it is a book that has garnered a slew of rave reviews.

“The message is you do not have to live in your past. Whatever God has taken you through, there is a purpose, so trust the process,” Jackson said. “While writing there were a lot of obstacles that fell in the way to discourage me, but as I wrote, chains were being broken. I was being released from the bondage of hurt, guilt, depression that I didn’t realize I was depressed.”

That’s not all to which Jackson had come to grips amid her season in the wilderness.

“(I learned to embrace) self-love and, most of all, I was gaining more love for God,” Jackson said. “I realize God created me for a special purpose starting with my name (she’s now chuckling). I live by I am fearfully marvelously made.”

All of which sums up why 2019, like 2016, figures to be a season of even more manifested blessings for this brilliantly gifted writer.

DOING IT GOD’S WAY — For Jackson, her quest to assemble her first book came courtesy of her abstaining from leaning unto her own understanding and seeking and consulting God for a sense of direction.

“I haven’t had any speaking engagements, but my vision for 2019 is to start going to speak in different cities to young teenage mothers, young girls in foster care, and young women and girls that have been sexually (abused) and feel like they can’t love,” Jackson said.

What a difference obeying the Voice of God has made.

All jokes aside.

MAKING HEADLINE NEWS WELCOMES NIKISHA SIMMONS-MACLIN

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. (Romans 8:28)

If anyone knows that we serve of a God of second chances, Nikisha Simmons-Maclin certainly does.

TWIN CITY SENSATION — Minnesota Businesswoman Nikisha Simmons-Maclin is the CEO of High Fashion And Events, a flourishing online fashion store that is widely known for offering fashionable styles for juniors, mature women, and full figure women, all the while exemplifying an excellent online shopping experience, accompanied by efficient customer service. “I have always believed that God gave me a second chance,” Simmons-Maclin, during an interview this week with Making Headline News, said before sharing a familiar Biblical passage to back up her suggestion. “Romans 8:28 says, ‘And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.’”

For Simmons-Maclin, there is no doubt that she has been strategically called according to God’s purpose for such a time as now, most notably by way of her immeasurable gifts through entrepreneurship.

A 39-year-old native of Compton, California, Simmons-Maclin is making some remarkably brilliant strides as a thriving businesswoman, considering she is the mastermind of not one, but two successful Minneapolis, Minnesota-based business ventures.

COMPTON, COMPTON — Raised in Compton’s historic Dominguez Valley community, Simmons-Maclin is an honors graduate of Long Beach (Calif.) Jordan High School.

“As a former plus-size model, my dreams became reality in 1999 when I took third place in a nationwide modeling contest,” explained Simmons-Maclin, recalling what undoubtedly was a defining moment that had ultimately given way to her being offered a five-year, $10,000 guaranteed modeling contract with Wilhelmina Models of New York. “(I was) inspired by many models such as Naomi Campbell, Tyra Banks, and Queen Latifah, but I never gave up on my revelation of modeling.”

Even when she had become the subject of criticism and negative predictions by people who refused to acknowledge her worth, there was Simmons-Maclin, diligently going after the purpose for which she was created.

“I was told many times to get my head out of the clouds,” Simmons-Maclin said. “I suffered from (low) self-esteem and self-worth issues, sexual abuse, dysfunctional behaviors, broken relationships, and self-abuse.  From 2001 to 2002, I went back and forth between California and New York and, in 2003, relocated to New York.”

For what it’s worth, all of the going back and forth was a risk worth taking, considering this resilient and resourceful businesswoman didn’t stop until she reaped the favorable results she so desperately sought.

“I left many people, many places, and many things in pursuit of what I thought was happiness,” said Simmons-Maclin, who eventually left her native home state for good in 2009 and relocated hundreds of miles away from the Pacific to the Central time zone — Minnesota to be technical.

That is when she began to witness all things working together for her good.

Yep. That’s just like God.

“I have recently accepted that this is my call and that I am on assignment,” Simmons-Maclin said of her business ventures that are enjoying sustained success. “I enjoy working with people, inspiring people, motivating people, and loving on people.”

GOD’S PLAN — Even when she had become the subject of criticism and negative predictions by people who refused to acknowledge her worth, there was Simmons-Maclin, diligently going after the purpose for which she was created.

Her High Fashion & Events venture went into full operations in 2014 and caters to women ranging from teenagers to 60 years of age.

As for her already congested itinerary, Simmons-Maclin is expected to be on hand for the upcoming Second Annual Hair Show in Minneapolis and, as a notable member of Toastmasters, she announced that additional public appearances and speaking engagements are presently in the works.

Raised in Compton’s historic Dominguez Valley community, Simmons-Maclin is an honors graduate of Long Beach (Calif.) Jordan High School.

A 39-year-old native of Compton, California, Simmons-Maclin is making some remarkably brilliant strides as a thriving businesswoman, considering she is the mastermind of not one, but successful Minneapolis, Minnesota-based business ventures.

In addition, she holds an Associate’s Degree from Minneapolis Community Technical College (MCTC) — she graduated with honors in Criminal Justice and Addiction Counseling — and is a graduate of Metro State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Services.

“God, family, church, and my community,” said Simmons-Maclin, when asked who were amongst those who inspired her to pursue her entrepreneurship dreams. “The world is in a place where its soul has been held bondage to the daily trials and tribulations of life. Although many have creativity for others, we have lost our ability of believing, dreaming, and (having a) vision.

“When one’s vision is clear, you know what you desire is possible. You cannot go back, because you will become too busy looking at what is ahead. With hard work, commitment, dedication, and disciplined, you can be successful and manifest all desires and expectations.”

Talk about making good on a second chance.

Houston-area author Grace L. Davis’ newly-produced book serves as a vital reminder that ‘Nothing is too hard for God’

Oh give thanks unto the LORD; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people. (Psalm 105:1 KJV)

Because God has strategically set aside Grace L. Davis for His use, this devout woman of faith essentially has provided a whole new twist to a testimony service, of sorts.

HER SEASON OF GRACE AND FAVOR — An accomplished businesswoman and minister of the gospel, Houston-area author Grace L. Davis took yet another massive step toward her destiny when she witnessed the much-anticipated release of her book entitled, How I Got Over: Applying The Word of God.

One that, much to her delight, has appropriately been birthed through an awe-inspiring book.

“I chose to produce this book, because I wanted to give my testimony about the goodness of God,” Davis told Making Headline News this week.

The book to which Davis is alluding is one that is steadily advancing the kingdom for such a crucial time as now — or in these perilous times, if you will.

An accomplished businesswoman and minister of the gospel, Davis took yet another massive step toward her destiny when she witnessed the much-anticipated release of her book entitled, How I Got Over: Applying The Word of God (A Guide To Overcoming Life’s Obstacles).

A rather informative, thought-provoking written document that officially hit the market in February 2018, Davis’ How I Got Over: Applying The Word of God was assembled under the matchless unction of the Holy Spirit, a spiritually-enhancing trend this author has dubbed a testimony, of sorts, particularly when recalling God’s goodness and faithfulness during the course of her life.

MORE ON AUTHOR GRACE L. DAVIS: https://gracedavisbook.com/

Having become a widow during her second marriage, Davis — with her faith suddenly on trial unlike never before — had to learn to live by faith and not by sight, realizing, among other things, that God was — and still is — in total control of her life, according to a detailed breakdown of her book at Amazon.com.

THE ROMANS 8:18 FACTOR — A rather informative, thought-provoking written document that officially hit the market on in February 2018, Davis’ How I Got Over: Applying The Word of God was assembled under the matchless unction of the Holy Spirit, a spiritually-enhancing trend this author has dubbed a testimony, of sorts, particularly when recalling God’s goodness and faithfulness during the course of her life.

Interestingly, Davis’ memorable, faith-based journey began in the wake of what she describes as a “journal of testimonies,” many of which were eloquently penned in the form of her latest book.

“I realized it was not enough time during regular church service to testify to others that there is nothing too hard for God, so I decided to put it in print,” said Davis, a native of Natchitoches, Louisiana who is a faithful member of Houston’s historic New Light Christian Center Church (Pastored by Dr. Irishea Hilliard, the daughter of Bishop I.V. and Pastor Bridget Hilliard).

A book that is comprised of 62 pages, Davis began composing How I Got Over: Applying The Word of God in August 2012 and needed a little more than four years complete.

Surely, such an authorship journey was time well spent, considering the immediate feedback since her book’s release, by all accounts, has been favorable.

WAIT…THERE’S MORE — As if Davis’ book isn’t enough to wet the spiritual appetites of those who are in dire need of a some much-needed spiritual restoration, this talented Christian writer has produced a study guide to accompany her book, which was also made available to her reading audience in February 2018.

“Everyone that has read my book tells me it is an easy-reading book and it has given them new insight on how to apply the Word of God to their situation,” said Davis, the proud owner of a Houston-area consultant firm that specializes in credit counseling and credit restoration.

As if Davis’ book isn’t enough to wet the spiritual appetites of those who are in dire need of a some much-needed spiritual restoration, this talented, big-hearted Christian writer has produced a study guide to accompany her book, which was also made available to her reading audience in February 2018.

“The study guide will allow the reader to go back and refresh their memory of the most important factors in the book along with the answers to any questions the reader may have,” Davis said. “This book is my life’s story and is a tool for me to spread the word to others by example of God’s goodness and His answered prayers in my life. God has created me to give Him glory, to serve Him and honor Him for all He has done for me.”

Because if she’s said it once then, in all likelihood, she’s said it countless of times.

That is, comes hell or high water, nothing is too hard for God.

Which, come to think of it, is the direct message Davis is sending to modern-day church through her book.

IN GOD’S TIMING — A book that is comprised of 62 pages, Davis began composing How I Got Over: Applying The Word of God in August 2012 and needed a little more than four years complete.

“(God) is no respecter of person and God has all power although,” said Davis, reciting the words to the familiar passage that is Romans 2:11. “I would like the audience to know that having a renewed mind, a change of heart, and speaking God’s word from your mouth will change any circumstance. It is not about financial gain, it’s about being delivered from obstacles such as fear, depression, worry, and anxiety, which are road blocks to one’s success in life.”

Well said by this devout woman of faith whom, to her credit, has gone to great lengths to provide a whole new twist to a testimony service, of sorts.

One that, much to her delight, has appropriately been birthed through an awe-inspiring book.

Springfield, Massachusetts entertainer Shay-Nyce Lyrrixx to icon Missy Elliot: ‘I believe we would work well together’

EDITOR’S NOTE: For booking information on this Springfield, Massachusetts-based entertainer Making Headline News has highlighted, she can reached via email at: Shaynyce@gmail.com.

Sandra Beverly Blushings could go on and on, talking about her daughter, Shanice Dominique Lewis Brawner, a gifted and talented youngster who doesn’t shy away from the notion that she boasts lofty aspirations of becoming a renowned songwriter.

ANOINTED FOR THIS — Widely known amongst her peers and fans as “Shay-Nyce Lyrrixx,” Shanice Dominique Lewis Brawner’s immeasurable gifts as a singer were discovered when her grandmother commanded her to sing in the church choir when she was child. What she had ultimately found out because of her act of obedience is that, well, only what you do for Christ will last.

“She took all my features,” Blushing, during an interview this week with Making Headline News, jokingly said of her 26-year-old daughter. “(People) think I’m her sister. I am not allowed to correct people if they think that, depending on her mood.”

All things considered, the bond between Blushings and her daughter is one that could be greatly described as inseparable to say the least.

It is, by all accounts, because of their close-knit relationship that Blushings deems it essential every chance she gets to push and promote, thus share with the masses Brawner’s assortments of endeavors, most notably her talents as a singer, songwriter, rapper, and poet.

SENDING A DIRECT MESSAGE? At the end of the real day, no one, it seems, inspires Brawner like Missy Elliot. “(Definitely) Missy Elliot, because she shows that her unique style is timeless,” Brawner said. “She is way ahead of the game even to this day and age. I believe we would work well together. All I need is a minute to try to impress her. That woman is a legend, an icon. Everything about her gives me life, hope, inspiration.”

For Brawner, that her mother routinely goes to great lengths to demonstrate unyielding support has benefited her mightily since she appropriately stepped out on faith courtesy of her talents.

“My endeavors are songwriting, poetry, and rapping and dance,” Brawner said. “I do it all.”

Widely known amongst her peers and fans as “Shay-Nyce Lyrrixx,” Brawner’s immeasurable gifts as a singer were discovered when her grandmother commanded her to sing in the church choir when she was child.

What she had ultimately found out because of her act of obedience is that, well, only what you do for Christ will last.

Interestingly, Brawner’s father assumes dual roles and as her disk jockey and promoter and, according to Brawner’s mother, her daughter is a devoted “daddy’s girl.”

“I’m trying to be one of the best songwriters in the history of music,” Brawner says with a straight face. “I am a performer. I try to perfect my gifts.”

Much to her delight, she has her beloved mother and father to thank for helping steer her in the right direction through her music.

“My mom taught me hip hop dance,” Brawner said. “She’s from the Bronx.”

Interestingly, her father, widely known as Infrared DJ Scope, assumes dual roles and as her disk jockey and promoter and, according to Brawner’s mother, her daughter is a devoted “daddy’s girl.”

A native of Springfield, Massachusetts, Brawner’s music and writing gifts had become popular within the walls of her high school, New Leadership Charter School, during which she had become a fixture for winning poetry contests through her online poem submissions.

“My teachers believed in me,” Brawner said. “They also were poets and I looked up to them. What I love most about being in my endeavors is being myself. No one tried to box me in. I do it all. I like being creative…waking up out my sleep to (conduct) late night writing sessions.

Besides the tireless support of her parents, her brother, fellow entertainer “Scope 2 Smooth,” has contributed mightily to Brawner’s success.

“He makes my beats,” Brawner said.

To her credit, the bulk of her music can be heard on a variety of message boards and via video footage, a trend her camp hopes will ultimately give way to some globally-acclaimed exposure she so desperately seeks — and deserves.

MOM KNOWS BEST — All things considered, the bond between Sandra Blushings and her daughter is one that could be described as inseparable to say the least.

“My mission is to break the chains,” said Brawner, adding that a majority of music is dedicated to people ranging in ages 18 and up. “When you come from a city nobody knows, it’s a struggle and hard to reach the world.”

All of which practically sums up why Brawner isn’t just destined to break chains, but rather she’s seemingly on a quest to help make Springfield a popular establishment besides being the birthplace where the game of basketball was originated.

“We have so many talented people here, but the world doesn’t know about this corner,” Brawner said. “I want to show the world I deserve to share my God-given gifts, to walk the stage at BET Awards as the best new songwriter and artist around.”

More than anything, Brawner admittedly will always be guilty of recalling what grandma and grandpa told her back in the day.

“My grandparents told me I’m rooted for greatness,” she said. “I believe them and in myself.”

Having been an entertainer since she was  15 years of age, Brawner has proven to be a notable risk taker, considering she sings mostly about the issues she senses “people are scared to talk about,” most notably issues pertaining to brokenness, fighting back, heartache and pain to winning, even domestic violence, she acknowledged.

“My inspiration is (rapper) Missy Elliot,” Brawner said. “No matter the season, she will blend any time any day. She makes me want to win. She is all (of my aspiring) gifts rolled on one. I love her and Nikki Minaj for her creativity and her being that she is and not worried about others.”

Wait…there are a few other entertainers to whom Brawner looks up.

GLOBAL IMPACT BREWING? Brawner isn’t just destined to break chains, but rather she’s seemingly on a quest to make Springfield a popular establishment besides being the birthplace where the game of basketball was originated.

“Remy Ma is like the Queen of maturity,” said Brawer, sounding very much like a music critic, of sorts. “She is sassy and hood in the heart and gets solid messages out that it doesn’t matter where we from, we gotta make them know our name.”

And then there is pop music/R & B icons Mary J Blige and Monica, whom Brawner deems her inspiration for telling thought-provoking stories through their music.

Talk about sending a direct message to arguably her biggest inspiration in the entertainment industry.

Psst…psst..Missy, are you reading this?

New York-based author Dr. Delphine Powell’s long-awaited vision comes full circle courtesy of her new book

And the Lord answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. (Habakkuk 2:2)

There’s no other way to put it.

Dr. Delphine Powell is a woman with a vision.

A massive vision.

A heaven-mandated vision.

A vision that, quite frankly, she’s been harboring for a majority of her life.

DESTINY STEPS — An accomplished New York-based writer and minister, Dr. Delphine Powell is the mastermind behind the book entitled, My House Your House: A Prayerful Memoir: The Voice Of An Unofficial Orphan.

Today, unlike never before, she can boldly profess that as it pertains to the vision that God has appropriately arranged for her, thus strategically assigned to her, she undoubtedly has grabbed a firm hold of it.

Consider, for instance, how during an exclusive interview this week with Making Headline News, Dr. Powell found her herself explaining in great detail the life-enhancing vision her Creator had instilled in her at such an early age.

Years ago, it all started with her having reached for a small pad and pen.

When I was younger, I would journal and write of current events taking place in my life and insights that God would show me,” Dr. Powell recalled. “During those times of journaling as a child, God showed me that one day I would be sharing my story with the world.”

And so it came to pass that some four months ago, Dr. Powell’s long-awaited vision had ultimately come full circle with God, her Helper, steering the way.

An accomplished New York-based writer and minister, Dr. Powell is the mastermind behind the book entitled, My House Your House: A Prayerful Memoir: The Voice Of An Unofficial Orphan.

An awe-inspiring written document that officially made its much-anticipated presence on the market in November 2017, Dr. Powell’s House Your House: A Prayerful Memoir: The Voice Of An Unofficial Orphan depicts the emotional story of an unofficial orphan who’s trapped in the foster care system for nearly 10 years, a sequence that had transpired after having been separated from her family.

In a nutshell, this 107-page book details, among other things, Dr. Powell’s experiences of having been placed into a series of foster homes until she had reached the adult stage of her life.

So who better to be strategically handpicked by God to share before the world an assortment of life-changing testimonies as a way to lift of Christ and, most importantly, help lure others to Him, especially those who can greatly attest to this encounter?

“I produced this book to become an inspirational voice to anyone facing difficulties in life,” Dr. Powell said of a book she began composing in June 2016 and needed a little more than a year to compete. “My House Your House was written with an eye toward solutions, personal empowerment, and encouragement.”

Not only that, Dr. Powell’s doesn’t shy away from the notion that her very first book was designed impact people from all walks of life.

“It was written to help all children and former foster children, and anyone needing to combat feelings of despair, trauma and abandonment,” Dr. Powell said without hesitation.

Not to be outdone, other projects are presently in the works for Dr. Powell, a notable conference speaker and seminar hostess who serves as President of Live Impact Prayer International Ministry and holds an honary doctorate degree in Ministry.

As for how her book is synonymous to the purpose for which God created her, Dr. Powell was quick to reference one pivotal spiritual exercise, for starters.

“First, Prayer,” she said without hesitation yet again. “Prayer has been my foundation in life, a foundation established early by my parents’ example. By training me as a child to pray, they purposely set my life in motion to fulfill my destiny.”

PRAYER STILL WORKS — As for how her book is synonymous to the purpose for which God created her, Dr. Powell was quick to reference one pivotal spiritual exercise, for starters. “First, Prayer,” she said without hesitation yet again. “Prayer has been my foundation in life, a foundation established early by my parents’ example. Hold the applause, if you will. There’s more to this notable concept.

“Secondly,” Dr. Powell explains, “my story showcases how anyone can triumph through uncertainty with God on their side, knowing that He can take any situation and turn it around for our good according to His purpose and Will for our lives.”

As for the feedback she’s garnered since the release of her new book, well, peep this, these encouraging reviews Dr. Powell released to Making Headline News.

According to Dr. Powell, some of her readers chimed in and said:

Columbus, Georgia author Dr. Sarah Beecham Powell’s book addresses ‘real life issues’ faced by women

A Columbus, Georgia based author, Dr. Sarah Beecham Powell is the mastermind behind the alluring, captivating book entitled, Run Sallie Run, Run Like Hell Is On Your Heels, an intriguingly compelling written document she assembled, one she believes speaks cross-culturally to all women, and allows for open and unguarded discussion of the issues addressed in her book.  Run Sallie Run, Run Like Hell Is On Your Heels officially hit the market in September 2016, a book she needed only 16 months to complete.

“I had been married to a wonderful man for 32 years prior to his death in October 2013,” Dr. Powell said of her former husband, a military veteran, who had retired after serving 22 years in the U.S. Army.

“The feedback has been great, because women have the opportunity to speak openly and unguarded about issues they were dealing with in secret because of shame and embarrassment,” said Dr. Powell, adding that another book is presently in the works (entitled OUI, Operating under the Influence).  “They get support and encouragement to let go of negativity,…a sort of support and self-help group.”

After becoming a widow, Dr. Powell participated in grief groups and attended single women’s seminars and conferences seeking support and commonality.  It was during these meetings, after talking with other single and single-again women that she came to realize that her experiences were not uncommon.  “When I decided to start dating, I encountered some of the same negative and unhealthy experiences other women had disclosed to me,” Dr. Powell recalled.  “I had to remind myself of who Sarah was, what I was accustomed to, and how I was accustomed to being treated and valued.”  “I love to read, so I searched for a book or information that would inform and help me.”

“I found nothing that appealed to me, so I decided to write my own self-help guide from personal experiences and from the stories I collected from other women who shared their experiences with me.”

“I wanted a quick reference guide that would help me wade through unchartered waters”, Dr. Powell, during an interview this week with Making Headline News, said while explaining her purpose for composing her book.  “I wanted and needed something to help me heal emotionally, inform me, validate my thoughts and feelings, and heal my self-esteem.”

After becoming a widow, Dr. Powell participated in grief groups and attended single women’s seminars and conferences seeking support and commonality.

“Staying connected to any relationship that leaves you feeling devalued erodes your self-esteem and will have you second-guessing yourself,” Dr. Powell said with the utmost confidence.  “Any relationship that compels you to compromise who you are, and that brings about negative changes even you can see in yourself costs way too much, and you have stayed way too long; you need to run like hell is on your heels.”

Generally, Dr. Powell emphasized, Run Sallie Run, Run Like Hell Is On Your Heels is a book that doesn’t just validates one’s emotions and intuitions, “But you actually feel as if you are talking to a girlfriend in a private conversation,” she said.  “Although Run Sallie Run is written from a humorous perspective, it delves into some serious emotional relationship issues dating women experience.  The humor helps women to open up and address emotions connected with negative relationships that they may have found embarrassing to talk about otherwise; the goal is to start healing, get informed, let go of disappointment, and move on through the humor, “ Dr. Powell added.

As for the divine message she aspires to pass along to her reading audience, Dr. Powell felt compelled to reinforce that anything that ultimately erodes your spiritual, mental, physical, or emotional health also interferes with your praise, purpose, and peace, and prevents you from operating at your optimal potential.

And let’s not forget the one key attribute that essentially help make this book a fun read—Dr. Powell’s witty demeanor.

“Since I have a humorous personality, I began to think that I knew what Sallie was running from in the Fun with Dick and Jane books some of us read as children,” Dr. Powell explained.  “In my opinion, Sallie was running from Dick because of the rotation game, financial instability, deceit, and non-exclusive relationships women sometimes encounter in unhealthy dating situations. I also love music, so I combined my humorous nature with my love of music and titled the majority of my book chapters after song lyrics.

“For instance, the chapter Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday Love talks about the dating rotation schedule,” Dr. Powell explained.  “Bag Lady, You Gon Hurt Yo Back is about making a choice not to pick up or take on responsibility for someone else’s baggage from their past relationships or circumstances.”

IN HER OWN WORDS — “When I decided to start dating, I encountered some of the same negative and unhealthy experiences other women had disclosed to me,” Dr. Powell recalled.  “I had to remind myself of who Sarah was, what I was accustomed to, and how I was accustomed to being treated and valued.”  “I love to read, so I searched for a book or information that would inform and help me.”

As for Dr. Powell’s itinerary, she will be hosting a workshop called “Put On Your Red Running Shoes” on April 14 at the Columbus Public Library (Synovus-Room B), during which she will discuss more about her book.

This event is free and open to the public, and will take place from 3-6pm EST.  “It’s a free BYOB (Buy Your Own Book) event,” Dr. Powell said.  “Wear your red running shoes.”

Accomplished Arkansas Minister Dr. Alandrus P. Spencer ‘Touching Lives’ through his book blanketed by encouragement

And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the Lord his God. (1 Samuel 30:6 KJV)

Upon crossing paths with Dr. Alandrus P. Spencer, it wouldn’t take very long for anyone to discover that he’s armed with encouragement.

A whole lot of it, for the record.

HANDPICKED BY GOD — A proud Navy veteran and the Senior Pastor of Touching Lives Ministries, Inc. in nearby Blytheville, Arkansas, Dr. Alandrus P. Spencer is the mastermind behind the book entitled, Encouraging Moment: Live Life By An Encouraging Moment.

Consider, for instance, how Dr. Spencer, an accomplished Jonesboro, Arkansas-area minister, wasted little time taking to his Facebook page Saturday morning, during which he staged a brief post to — you guessed it — encourage the masses.

Said Dr. Spencer just before 10 a.m. CST in a thought-provoking catchphrase once uttered by Texas Empowerment Strategist Franco Charles: “What you fail to announce will be ignored.”

Out of fairness to Dr. Spencer, there is, by all accounts, a rather favorable reason why he deems it essential to encourage people mightily as often as he could.

For starters, he answered the divine call long ago when he became a spokesperson for Christ.

Secondly, he’s grasped a thorough concept of what it means to build up his spirit man, regardless of how challenging or bleak circumstances become in his life.

Thirdly and most importantly, he routinely encourages others because, well, God practically commands us to.

And so it came to pass that Dr. Spencer acted out of obedience unto God by composing an awe-inspiring book that — you guessed it again — figures to encourage people from various walks of life.

A proud Navy veteran and the Senior Pastor of Touching Lives Ministries, Inc. in nearby Blytheville, Arkansas, Spencer is the mastermind behind the book entitled, Encouraging Moment: Live Life By An Encouraging Moment.

BUY DR. ALANDRUS SPENCER’S BOOK HERE: https://www.amazon.com/Encouraging-Moment-Live-Life/dp/154344038X

A spiritually gut-checking and life-enhancing written document that is comprised of 90 pages, Dr. Spencer’s Encouraging Moment: Live Life By An Encouraging Moment officially hit the market on September 20, 2017, approximately two years after God had revealed to him the vision to write it.

Much to his delight, Dr. Spencer didn’t just write down the vision. He took it and ran with it.

Not only that, it is a foregone conclusion why he produced the book to begin with.

“I chose to write this book because I love to encourage others, and I felt I could give them these same quotes that challenged and encouraged me during some of life most challenging times,” Dr. Spencer said.

Interestingly, he appropriately used the familiar Biblical passage that is 1 Samuel 30:6 as the feature scripture from which his book was birthed.

“David encouraged himself,” Dr. Spencer said without hesitation.

Speaking of hesitation, given the passion with which Dr. Spencer speaks when promoting his book, it’s safe to assume that Encouraging Moment: Live Life By An Encouraging Moment was assembled without hesitation.

“The divine message is that God wants us to experience a healthy dose of encouragement whenever and wherever possible, and that we have the built-in capacity to encourage ourselves,” said Dr. Spencer, explaining the purpose for his new book.

As expected, the feedback since the release of Dr. Spencer’s book has been favorable.

Touching Lives Ministries Co-Pastor and First Lady Veronica L. Spencer

“The feedback has been tremendous,” Dr. Spencer said. “People mostly appreciate it. It’s not a wordy book. It’s simple but impactful and it challenges their faith while encouraging them to strive for better.”

All things considered, as it pertains to composing his book, exemplifying a sense of passion was extremely key, Dr. Spencer emphasized.

“God created me with the gift to have passion for and to encourage others,” he said. “And this book is a direct display of my heart toward people.”

A spiritually gut-checking and life-enhancing written document that is comprised of 90 pages, Dr. Spencer’s Encouraging Moment: Live Life By An Encouraging Moment officially hit the market on September 20, 2017, approximately two years after God had revealed to him the vision to write it.

While Encouraging Moment: Live Life By An Encouraging Moment is an ideal read for people who are lost spiritually and desire to return to Christ, Dr. Spencer acknowledged his book is especially prevalent for the modern-day church, where the spirit of discouragement has rid its ugly head unlike never before.

“The world as we know it is lacking strongly in the area of encouragement and, yes, even in the church,” Dr. Spencer said. “I believe if we can start to embrace and harness the energy of encouragement, we can make the world a better and a more promising place.”

After all, he’d be the first to tell you that, “What you fail to announce will be ignored.”

Surely, that goes for encouragement.

A whole lot of it, for the record.

Most importantly, she was swift to take action.

Today, unlike never before, she’s reaping the benefits for acting out of obedience to God.

“Because of the Holy Spirit I knew that I had something unique in the way that I connect with women to bring clarity and understanding to their situations,” said Johnson Brinkley, when asked how her competitive drive in life greatly propelled her to start a business venture.

PUT ‘EM UP — Vanessa Johnson Brinkley is owner of Dunamis Dominion LLC, a Camden Wyoming, Delaware-based organization that provides victorious living spiritual life coaching through its notably unique brand known as The Fight Is Fixed.

The business to which Johnson Brinkley is alluding is Dunamis Dominion LLC, a Camden Wyoming, Delaware-based organization that provides victorious living spiritual life coaching through its notably unique brand known as The Fight Is Fixed.
