I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. (Philippians 4:13 NKJV)
GOD BLOCKED IT
Tamika Quinn wasn’t even buying it.
If nothing else, she was destined to pull off the unthinkable.
Because at the end of the real day, she knows Who’s the Author and the Finisher of her faith.
“After hearing several doctors tell me that I would never walk again and would always need assistance to survive, I was determined more than anything to prove them wrong, knowing in the midst of this situation that I serve a God Whose report was far more powerful than the doctor’s report.”
And so it came to pass, Quinn’s fervent quest to silence critics and doubters, particularly those who deemed it essential to render her condition virtually too insurmountable to overcome.
Quinn, demonstrating such poise and resiliency as only she could, went as far as to flex her spiritual muscles by way of an awe-inspiring, life-altering book, one that has emerged as a constant page turner.

A Tidewater, Virginia-based empowerment extraordinaire in her own right, Quinn is the mastermind behind Change Your Mind, Change Your Waistline, a compelling written work this author appropriately describes as a weight loss guide and 21-day journal.
At the tender age of 27, Quinn miraculously survived two strokes less than two weeks after after giving birth to her youngest child. As Quinn recalls, the entire left side of her body was paralyzed and she had extraordinarily little, if any control, of her body functions.
Not only that, she was hampered by limited vision and slurred speech, and her memory had what she describes as “many holes.” So much so that and she felt as if she had reached her lowest point, considering she had to rely on nurses to change her diaper as a full-grown wife, mother, and business owner.
A book that’s comprised of 131 pages in length, Quinn’s Change Your Mind, Change Your Waistline is widely regarded as a personal journey and road map of an overweight mother who had survived two strokes and a bilateral pulmonary embolism. However, she admittedly wasn’t motivated to actually losing weight until it became necessary to help her overweight, adolescent daughter lose weight, increase her self-confidence, and ultimately become a better version of herself, as mentioned in a detailed synopsis of this author’s book at Amazon.com.
Generally, the testimonies of both the mother and daughter conquering what they believed to be a generational curse is truly inspiring, according to an Amazon spokesperson for Quinn’s Change Your Mind, Change Your Waistline.
Both of whom were struggling with their weight, but viewing it completely differently is eye opening, Quinn’s featured book is a weight loss guide from what this writer labels “experience,” but also a love story and testament of the power of love, one that’s accompanied by an unbreakable bond of mother and child, a powerful relationship that can vividly conquer the world.
For Quinn, a certified health coach for Fat Girl 2 Glam Girl and the Advocacy Chair for the American Heart Association of Virginia, her featured published work comes amid humble beginnings.
“(People) thought I was crazy when I told them, ‘The devil is a liar’ and that ‘I will walk,’” Quinn said. “I pushed myself with the physical therapist, occupational therapist, and speech therapist, even on the days I didn’t feel like it. God won and I can not only walk, but run as well.”
Long before Quinn’s Change Your Mind, Change Your Waistline was put into works, this Christian-based authored sensed she wasn’t worthy of composing a book that figures to be a highly sought-after written work for quite some time.
“I procrastinated and even questioned whether or not I was worthy to write a book,” Quinn recalls. “Although I had survived two strokes and a pulmonary embolism afterward, I came home and returned to the familiarity of poor eating habits that I was accustomed to. Sadly, I even extended those habits onto my family with the meals I prepared.”
Interestingly, once Quinn’s mindset was such that she steadfastly changed her eating habits, she subsequently began to garner a new lease on life.
It wasn’t long thereafter that her family would ultimately follow suit.
“There was about a three-year timeframe between my personal health struggles and my daughter’s health struggles,” Quinn explained. “Although the seed of writing a book was inside of me, there was quite a bit more watering and cultivating inside that took place before that seed grew to full fruition.”
After a little more than a decade, Quinn had finally stepped out on faith by producing a book that has emerged as a constant life saver.
Probably for generations to come, she hopes.
“Almost 12 years to be exact, I carried the vision in my womb before eventually birthing Change Your Mind, Change Your Waistline in 2018,” Quinn said. “This book has literally changed people’s lives.
SEASON OF THE REBIRTH
“Many people have personally thanked me for helping them change their family’s legacy through improved health,” Quinn continued. “The transformational testimonies that I hear are mind-blowing and a true testament to using the power of your mind to transform your life.”
Which, to her credit, typically what happens when one becomes destined to pull off the unthinkable.
