HONORNG A LEGEND
A notable concert will take place in the coming weeks to pay homage to a legendary gospel icon.
A musical appreciation concert honoring the legendary golden voice of the late Christine Clarke Windham, formerly of Savoy Records, will take place on March 6 at 4:45 p.m. CST.
Powered by EROC Group, LLC, this concert will also include a Showing Appreciation for Frank Windham, the son of Clarke Windham.
The musical appreciation concert will take place at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church (West Campus), located at 1436 East Washington Street in Montgomery, Alabama.
According to Dr. Sybil Sloan, a spokesperson for the event, Clarke was a beloved and well-respected pillar in the Body of Christ who held a role in the Southern movie entitled, “The Long Walk Home.”

“Savoy Records, one of her precious labels catalog, was purchased by Malaco Records,” Dr. Sloan, recalling Clarke’s awe-inspiring legacy. “Ms. Malaco recently released her music on all digital outlets, both previously released music and unreleased music.”
A concert that is sponsored by EROC Group, LLC, Dr. Sloan emphasized this event is to honor Christine Clarke Windham and, most importantly, to ensure her historic legacy does not go unnoticed.
Attendees are required to wear face coverings and CDC guidelines will be enforced, said organizers for the event.
“Excitement is in the air as people are happy to be able to enjoy good quartet music,” said Sloan, a longtime empowerment extraordinaire, said. “Distribution of her music helps preserve the vintage gospel that birthed this current era of music forth.”
