But Jesus said, “Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me, for of such is the kingdom of heaven. (Matthew 19:14 KJV)
DESTINY STEPS
“I Am.”
As far as LaTia Russell and her husband, William Russell III, are concerned, those two words, by all accounts, could change the overall landscape of one’s life.
“As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I know the power of affirmations. My husband and I believe that ‘I Am’ are two of the most powerful words to be spoken. We speak positive affirmations over our son and really encourage him to speak and embrace them.”
Not only that, the Russells, to their credit, deemed it necessary to collectively take massive steps towards helping their son to become a better version of himself by way of Live In Color: Positive Affirmations Coloring Book For Children.
An all-things children coloring book that made its official debut on March 16 of this year, Live In Color: Positive Affirmations Coloring Book For Children is accompanied by 78 pages in length and, according to LaTia Russell, such an intriguing concept emerged after she facilitated a therapeutic group for adult men sometime in January 2021.

“We used many of the affirmations that we speak regularly in our home,” LaTia Russell of Illinois told Making Headline News during a recent interview. “It took less than a day to determine the layout for the coloring book. It took a bit longer to get the cover created.”
Once the Russells — along with their son, William K. C. Russell — finally finish composing their featured book, it has been as good as advertised ever since.
“The feedback for Live In Color has been phenomenal,” LaTia Russell said. “It’s our bestseller by far. It’s amazing because it’s done so well and it’s not even a storybook yet). It won its first award in June 2021, and we’ve received awesome feedback and reviews.”
All of which practically sums up that the best is yet to come surrounding a children’s book that figures to impact generations — for generations to come.

As far as they are concerned, it all begins with their pride and joy, their only begotten son, who has brought so much joy to their lives.
“It took my husband and I a very long time to conceive our son,” LaTia Russell explained. “We’d nearly come to the resolve that it might not happen for us and then God saw fit to say otherwise. As soon as he was born, God gave me the vision to begin creating stories with my husband and son, to create inclusive and impactful content, while showing that families of color can create generational wealth while sowing into the hearts and minds of children and their families.
“Very early in life, I was called to my purpose of helping others,” LaTia Russell continued. “This is why I became a Social Worker. I was also gifted with the ability to write and create poetry, stories, etc. Live In Color is part of my purpose. Through our coloring book, we want children to know that despite the obstacles and barriers they may face during their childhood and ultimately their life, that they are worthy of love, kindness, and grace.”

A book that is comprised of 190 pages in length, a massive pool of co-authors has assembled to collectively engage in real talk about finding joy during difficult times, most notably COVID-19, loss, love, grief, and healing, among other pertinent topics, Blackwell told MHN during a recent interview.
As for Live In Color, Russell announced that other books are on the horizon.

“Yes… We have our debut children’s book scheduled to release in October,” she said. “We will release the kindle eBook version the weekend of October 8, 2021. The title of that book is Bravo: The Brave Butterfly. We also have two other children’s books written that we’re waiting to get illustrated and we will be turning Live In Color into a children’s book as well.”
That’s not all, Russell acknowledged.
“I’m also working on an anthology project (entitled STAND UP),” Russell said. “We have so many projects in queue and we’re excited to share them with everyone as we near launch time. When we established our publishing agency (Ties That Bind Publishing), we purchased 100 ISBN’s because we knew we had a lot of stories to tell.”
