She considers a field and buys it. With the fruit of her hands, she plants a vineyard. (Proverbs 31:16 ESV)
AMAZING GRACE-LAND
Lakeshia Crawford has been quite resourceful throughout the better part of this global pandemic.
Consider, for instance, how Crawford has gone to great lengths to establish a credible business that figures to impacts families for years to come.
Crawford, 35, is the mastermind behind Graceland Dental Assisting Program, her Marietta, Georgia-based featured endeavor that has become a fixture for providing young individuals with a course and program designed to give them the opportunity to test themselves as a dental assistant and provide high value to the dental industry.
Generally, this is gone primarily by providing more solutions to patients, all the while further enhancing their mark on their communities. In essence, Graceland Dental Assisting’s strategic mission is centered largely on providing access to a range of educational material and resources, which are curial to the development of the skills necessary to meet people’s dental concerns and inquiries.
“The wave of entrepreneurism following the recent COVID pandemic further accentuated the need for this program,” Crawford told Making Headline News during a recent interview. “Maintenance of health has become an even bigger priority in households and more so, the way you look as well as your hygiene. People are becoming more aware of the image of themselves that they provide others with, and this has increased visits to the dentist.

“The increase in appointments has had the effect of out-stretching the current workforces on hand to a point that they are, on average, struggling to cope with the many procedures that have to be conducted daily. Dental assistants help with transition times between procedures as well as conversing with patients, assessing and relaying key information to the dentist so that they can make appropriate decisions and maintaining that the overall operations in the office run smoothly. Therefore, a well-trained dentist assistant does not only save time, but saves money as well.”
A native of Birmingham, Alabama who resides in the Atlanta area, Crawford initially started Graceland Dental Assistant Program for individuals and groups ranging in ages 16 to 49, or those who are interested in dentistry, she acknowledged.

“But not so much on a full-on career as a dentist,” Crawford said. “The goal of the program is to help people understand the role of the dental assistant, the importance of that role and their functions in the overall organization and running of a dental office, and to help them get placement in a dental assistant position. The aim of the program is to further the advancement of interest in the dental assistant role in the state of Georgia. This program will see the students gain an understanding of the methodology and procedures used in the dental office setting, receive one-on-one attention and support, experience first-hand what it takes to do the job, and get assistance in seeking dental assistant positions in the market.”
Armed with more than 17 years of professional dentistry experience, Crawford emphasized her program is designed also to reflect and provide a viable solution to the questions and concerns that plague individuals, particularly those who are interested in a career in the dental industry.
Not only that, she said the program is ideal as it relates to “just being able to offer a valuable service that can improve people’s lives and how they feel about themselves, but just does not know where to start.”
MASSIVE IMPACT
Also, Crawford pointed out: “We do not just stop here in line with our vision of ensuring our students are well-prepared to succeed post-course, we also offer courses on dental solutions that our students will be able to, if they wish, independently provide to their own clients…for example, with regards to dental whitening, tooth gem installation, as well as preparation for NELDA, each of which situate the students in a position to monetize off the skills learnt should they choose to create their own businesses. As well, we offer career placement help up to one year, following completion of the course, to further facilitate a smooth transition and application of the skills and information (acquired).”
Also, an accomplished author, Crawford announced that plans are in the works to host what she refers to a college fair sometime this spring.
