I have seen something else under the sun: The race is not to the swift or the battle to the strong, nor does food come to the wise or wealth to the brilliant or favor to the learned. But time and chance happen to them all. (Ecclesiastes 9:11 NIV)
GOD’S MIRACULOUS PLAN
DALLAS — Dr. Shervondaline S. Breedlove certainly wasn’t accepting “No” for an answer.
Not when God’s “Yes” carries far more superior weight.
After Breedlove’s daughter, Jayla Sims, had earned her diploma from Plano (Texas) Senior High in 2018, Breedlove’s subsequently inquired about whether her special needs child could advance her education.
“Unfortunately, her teacher and advisors informed me that it was not possible due to her function level,” said Breedlove, referring to her daughter’s diagnosis with autism. “Although I could never have dreamed, hoped, or imagined the surprise He had in store for Jayla, God just did the unthinkable for my daughter and me.”
Indeed, He did.
That’s because just recently, Breedlove and her daughter both acquired doctorate degrees on the same day, collectively culminating what undoubtedly was a memorable, tear-jerking moment for the ages in their household.
For starters, Breedlove graduated from Integrity Seminary with Bachelor, Master’s, and Doctorate degrees.

“First, I asked God to order my steps,” Breedlove, a Dallas/Fort Worth autism and special needs advocate who is originally from Monroe, Louisiana, told Making Headline News during a recent interview. “Then I started moving my feet. I am beyond grateful for Him granting me the grace to complete each degree with a 4.0 GPA.”
As if those notable milestones weren’t enough to turn heads, Breedlove’s daughter, Jayla, was named a candidate for an honorary doctorate degree.
“The seminary’s President was blessed by her testimony and selected her as the 2022 recipient,” Breedlove said of arguably her daughter’s grandest achievement to date.
So much for those inaccurate predictions rendered by those teachers and advisors some four years ago.
If God said it, that settles it.
BREED AGAPE LOVE
“He made our stories even more incredibly powerful,” Breedlove said without hesitation. “We are in awe of God’s faithfulness.”
For Breedlove, the awe-inspiring rash of events involving her daughter have been chronicled in Women Of Power: Ignited To Serve, the highly-anticipated anthology that is spearheaded by Visionary Authors, Apostle Deborah Allen and Dr. Pamela Henkel.
Having made its ceremonious release in Spring 2022, Women Of Power: Ignited To Serve is an informative, empowering collaborative written work that has been appropriately deemed a mighty testament of the global movement that has erupted in the lives of countless of people, according to a detailed synopsis of this book at Amazon.com.
A ‘BUT GOD’ MOMENT
“Society has forgotten the key of service and unity, but we have not…hence us written this anthology,” said the visionaries for Women Of Power: Ignited To Serve. “Collectively, we’re here to help women come alive and recognize that serving is such a powerful gift and tool. May the words of every fierce women cause a fresh wind to stir up and rest upon you.
“It has been (our) joy, as well as the other authors’ joy, to collaborate with women, celebrate women, support, and serve women. Not just women, but we have served families, communities, and the nation through the gift of our lives. Let us all be the people who are ignited to serve and walk in power to change the world.”
In Women of Power, Breedlove’s chapter is entitled, “Hope Against Hope,” a piece that is centered largely on her daughter’s diagnosis.
“I want autism and special needs parents to know that there is always hope in God,” Breedlove said. “So many times, we read stories of heroes in the Bible, such as Abraham. However, there are times when we have to become heroes in our own real-life stories. Hope liberates you from feeling trapped by fear, disappointment, and other uncontrollable circumstances. No matter what, our babies need us to be strong for them. God provides the supernatural strength we need to conquer the challenges and overcome the obstacles we endure, as autism and special needs parents. Hope makes you strong.”
Breedlove made her authorship debut in July 2021 when she joined the anthology, Restricted No Longer, spearheaded by Visionary Author, Tonya B. Ratliff. In this book, Breedlove’s chapter is entitled, “Why Not Trust God Again?”
Three months later, Breedlove hosted her first anthology, The G.U.D. Life, in which she wrote from the subject, “Green Light Grace.”
SET ASIDE FOR GOD’S USE
And, later this month, she will witness the release of Trapped In My Mind Behind Enemy Lines, an anthology that will be accompanied by her chapter, “Diagnosis Does Not Determine Destiny.”
As for her latest book project, Breedlove — who has appeared on an array of television and radio shows, said: “I believe God created me to be Jayla’s mom. My purpose is being a voice for other autism and special needs parents. I want parents to know that they are never alone. God is constantly with them spiritually. He placed me here to embrace, enrich, and elevate them on earth.”
Amongst the obvious reasons is that God’s “Yes” carries far more superior weight.
