CHANGING A GENERATION
To her distinctly unique credit, Joel P. Martin, PhD is widely regarded as a “very creative problem-solver and resourceful consultant and coach,” the Scottsdale, Arizona-based businesswoman told Making Headline News this week.
Indeed, she is.
And much to her delight, Dr. Martin continues to enjoy a considerable amount of success as President of Triad West, Inc. and Founder of Positively Powerful Woman Awards & Programs, her globally-acclaimed featured business endeavors that have attracted clients in variety of establishments around the globe, most notably, in Malaysia, Asia, Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Riga, Finland, the United Kingdom, France, and Australia, among others.
Having emerged as a believed fixture in her chosen profession as an accomplished consultant, trainer, training designer, author, and speaker, Dr. Martin announced she will hosting the 13th Annual Triad West Inc. Positively Powerful™ Transformational DE&I Positively Powerful Woman Awards & Education Summits on October 28, an empowerment assembly that is centered on — and accompanied by — its strategic theme: Changing Lives and Business for The Better.

Armed with more than three decades of creating innovative solutions for organizational development, Dr. Martin is the former owner and operator of a full-service multicultural advertising agency and currently serves as an international transformational trainer, as well as a diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging specialist.
Also, as a DE&I knowledge expert, her keen ability to speak, consult, coach, train, and create inclusion and belonging for visionary business leaders comes out of this intersection, she acknowledged.
“My business or platform is virtual, hybrid and live,” Dr. Martin told MHN. “(We offer) experiential education, transformational leadership and diversity equity, inclusion and belonging specialization. My competitive drive in life propelled me to my business venture. I wanted to understand and know what it is that have people succeed. I am a lifelong learner.”
A native of New York City who was raised in Toledo, Ohio, Dr. Martin said what she likes the most about her business is that she’s been afforded the golden opportunity to be a catalyst which, as a result, customarily allows her to create transformational success.
“I like to have businesses win and have teams work well together,” said Dr. Martin, who’s featured endeavor services people and groups ranging from high school teenagers to senior citizens. “That’s really important to me. My personal mission for doing this work is to change lives and businesses for the better. I’ve lived this for 30-plus years in my different industries, and when I have the woman’s award, it’s to acknowledge the accomplishments of women in ways that empower all of us to live our dreams and change lives and businesses for the better. The all of us is important because it’s not just for women.”
Having credited her mother and family for fueling her fervent drive to pursue her lofty goals and ambitions — “to be giving focused out, cheerful, even in the hardest of times, to see the best in others,” she acknowledged — Dr. Martin was raised in a family she said “believed strongly” in education, not to mention “being a contribution to community and our faith.”
Having acquired a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Ohio State University, Dr. Martin earned a Masters in Psychology from Sonoma State University in California and Doctorate Degree in Communications from Columbia Commonwealth University.
“I wanted to understand and know what it is that have people succeed,” said Dr. Martin, explaining her competitive drive that has enabled her to function in her divine purpose. “I am a lifelong learner. We all come from some place to be something, and if we operate from the harsh terms of life — our baggage — we will never achieve our dreams. All we will be doing is looking backwards, so it’s imperative that I inspire people. I truly believe that the world would be a better place if people lived their dreams to make the world a better place. That is something Les Brown acknowledged about me.”
Married to Bob Martin, an accomplished fine artist, the couple shares a daughter who is a cinematographer.
Said Dr. Martin of her family: “I am very proud of them.”
Given the sustained success she’s enjoying in her chosen profession, the feelings undoubtedly are mutual.
