“If you’re walking down the right path and you’re willing to keep walking, eventually you’ll make progress.” — Barack Obama, 44th President of the United States of America
FULFILLING HER DIVINE PURPOSE
We begin a confession by Dr. Marcea Burnette Whitaker, MD.
“Growing up in young adulthood, I was only competitive in my schoolwork, Dr. Whitaker told Making Headline News during a recent interview. “I shied away from business and business dreams.”
Dr Whitaker now recalls how life’s challenges led to a competitive edge that helped propel her to entrepreneurship.

“My dad was a dentist and ran a solo practice,” Dr. Whitaker recalls. “I wanted dependability in my life. I was okay allowing someone else to control my situation. This manifested when I finished medical training. I resisted any and every opportunity to go into private practice. I chose to go into HMO medicine (Health Maintenance Organization) and became a staff physician. No problems. No major decision-making. No worries. Right? Wrong. But I also had no autonomy and I continued to give my power away to others.”
For Dr. Whitaker, that certainly isn’t the case today.
That’s because the longtime and well-respected Maryland Internal Medicine Physician has captured — and sustained — her entrepreneurial power as the mastermind behind Boss Life Business Ventures and In Full Bloom Health and Life Coaching.
MAKING REMARKABLE STRIDES
Having witnessed her featured ventures come full circle in 2019, Dr. Whitaker has become a fixture for helping professional women break out of what she calls “their personal prison” so they can discover who they are, decide what they want, and deliver on their destiny.
As part of Making Headline News’ coverage of Bishop T. D. Jakes’ International Leadership Summit, Dr. Whitaker said it wasn’t until “I realized what I was bringing to the table” that she had become destined to capture her fervent niche as a rising entrepreneur.
Mission accomplished.

“(I realized) that I had value that I didn’t see,” Dr. Whitaker explains. “(I realized) that I could trust myself, that I could drive my own ship, that I had something others needed. That’s when I stepped up, stepped out, and became an entrepreneur and I haven’t looked back yet.”
Featured business endeavors that customarily service women ranging in ages 35 to 60 — or those “who have hit a few obstacles or have lost themselves along the way,” she said — Dr. Whitaker emphasized, among other things, she especially has a heart for younger college aged women.
“There are masses of women just like me who are living under their potential that are surviving on fumes and continue to give their power away,” Dr. Whitaker told MHN. “My mission is to meet those women where they are and give them a pathway to reach their full potential.”
Having admitted she has always envisioned exemplifying what she appropriately describes as “an Oprah-level impact in my life,” Dr. Whitaker remembers watching a life-altering documentary when she opened up the orphanage, one that fueled her desire to look for ways to impact others.
“My mother inspired me to never quit,” Dr. Whitaker said. “My dad instilled in me that feelings were okay, and I could let them out. When I have done those things, that’s when the magic happens. Even through struggles, God has promised He will give beauty for ashes and He is doing just that.”
DESTINY STEPS
A native of Bowie, Maryland, Dr. Whitaker, 53, has been recognized by USA Today as a “Top Entrepreneur To Watch.” She has also been featured in Forbes, Kivo Daily, and Speakers Magazine.
Making Headline News’ International Women’s Day Woman of the Year for 2023, she has emerged as a professional speaker, a trend that has afforded her the golden opportunity to speak on leadership and women’s empowerment.
Dr. Whitaker is a graduate of Bladensburg, Maryland’s Elizabeth Seton High who became the first Richard A. Henson scholar at University of Maryland Eastern Shore, where she graduated suma cum laude.
Consequently, she enrolled at West Virginia University Medical School and the Business of Medicine at Johns Hopkins University.
Interestingly enough, Dr. Whitaker last year spearheaded her inaugural summit, Flow In Your Flaw, during which she highlighted 10 speakers with major life challenges who had become greatly inspired to share their journey through them and subsequently emerged as real life superheroes.
PURPOSE PUSHER
Also, next month, Dr. Whitaker announced she will be hosting what is known as The Destiny Exposure Summit, a “unique branding experience” for speakers that will afford them the opportunities to disclose their “own story” while speaking to audiences.
“The Destiny Exposure Summit is an unscripted interview platform that uncovers and highlights the speakers ‘Why?’ and their journey,” Dr. Whitaker said. “They tell their story, touch their tribe, and expand their territory.”
Added Dr. Whitaker while encouraging those who aspire to share their story to visit https://drmarcea.com/destinyexposuresummit: “I must inspire and encourage others. That is what I am here for. I lived under my potential for so long. I hid for so many years. I searched for my purpose for a decade, not knowing that I was being prepared all along.”
With God, her Helper, steering the way.
