I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have peace. In this world, you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world. (John 16:33 NIV)
BEAUTY FOR ASHES
It wasn’t particularly a vision Tanealya Jackson saw coming, quite frankly.
But it was one she had ultimately come to accept.
And embrace, to put it more precisely.
“God gave me the vision around 2018 when my husband passed away,” Jackson, during an interview this week with Making Headline News, said, recalling the rash of developments leading to her debut as an author. “I fault like my story had ended because I overcame domestic violence.”
As Jackson had eventually discovered, however, God had other strategic plans — plans to prosper her and not to harm her, plans to give her hope and a future.
“I felt God got me through and wanted me to be a blessing and help others,” Jackson recalls.

To her credit, Jackson had unleashed an array of blessings to the masses by way of Seeing Myself In HER Story: A Sister Circle Of Stories To Connect, Heal, and Push Us Through, Maryland Visionary Author Tamika Paige’s highly-anticipated first anthology that debuted in Summer 2023.
As part of Making Headline News’ advance coverage of Sarah Jakes Roberts’ inaugural Woman Evolve Conference September 14-16 from Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, Jackson, a Washington, D. C.-based first-time author, spoke at length about how she deemed it essential to disclose her life-altering testimony for collaborative book project that has garner Amazon No. 1 Bestseller honors in three notable categories.
Generally, the legwork for Seeing Myself In HER Story: A Sister Circle Of Stories To Connect, Heal, and Push Us Through commenced in January and took somewhere in the neighborhood of approximately six months to complete.
“It doesn’t matter where you are in life, Seeing Myself in HER Story offers inspiration to all readers,” said a spokesperson for Paige’s first anthology via Amazon.com. “The book greets every reader with testimonies that uplift, encourage, and act as a guide. From the trials and triumphs, to the transparent topics, the S.H.E. — She Has Experience — organization presents a book that is designed to help women continue a path of pushing through.
“The women in this book have been bonded and connected by sharing their truths, hearts, and stories of perseverance and were led in this effort by none-other-than CEO and Founder of Paige Group Inc., Tamika Paige.”

For Jackson, her rise to emerging as a first-time published author comes amid humble beginnings, something by which she doesn’t merely take for granted.
“(During) my experience with domestic violence, I went through the whole power and control wheel,” Jackson recalls. “The wheel diagram serves as tactic abusive partners use to keep survivors in a relationship. After going through therapy and talking about what I went through, I knew I wanted to help others get out of abusive relationships.”
As Jackson further explained, she considered it a God-ordained command to share with the masses a dreadful encounter that, by all accounts, altered the overall landscape of her life.
“I felt like had to tell people what happened because it was part of my healing process,” Jackson, a Washington, D. C. native, told MHN. “Also, I went back to school to study to be a paralegal and received a license as a paralegal from the Paralegal Institute of Washington D.C. so I can help victims file restraining orders and help get custody and expunge their records to get away from abusers legally.”
Interestingly enough, Jackson commenced writing her story some time in 2018, one that would ultimately find its way it print after she had crossed paths with Paige.

SEASON OF A REBIRTH
“When I met Tamika Paige, when she gave me an opportunity to tell my story,” Jackson said. “I really felt like it was predestined by God because I was already in a place where I was advocating and doing speaking events for domestic violence and mental health.”
Now that her authorship debut has come full circle, Jackson said other writing projects are forthcoming.
“My divine (purpose) is what better way I can help other women who have been through domestic violence than to tell my own story,” Jackson told MHN. “I feel abusers only get away with hurting people because women be scared to talk or tell someone. I want women to know you can overcome abusive relationships.
“But you have to have a plan and support and, most important, you have to have faith and believe God can get you through anything because there is nothing too hard for God. Also, forgiveness is for you, so forgive people who do wrong because God’s word says (in Isaiah 53:5), ‘No weapon form against you shall prosper.’ I plan to write more self-help books to help women and families get healing from domestic violence and I plan to do wellness focus circles groups to help victims.”
