Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that He may lift you up in due time. (1 Peter 5:6 NIV)
HOW IRONIC
Cornita Cole has known for quite some time that she had to put her ego exactly where it belongs: behind her.
Because in actuality, it’s safe to assume that EGO is an acronym that stands for: Edging God Out.
“I got the idea to write this book back in 2020 or as early as 2019,” Cole, during an interview this week with Making Headline News, said, recalling the rash of developments surrounding her sophomore book project. “It has always been very important for me to leave my ego out of how I respond and react to other people’s actions.”
To her credit, Cole has gone to great lengths to steadfastly address her sometimes problematic ego, most notably through Seeing Myself In HER Story: A Sister Circle Of Stories To Connect, Heal, and Push Us Through, Maryland Visionary Author Tamika Paige’s highly-anticipated first anthology that will debut in the coming weeks.

As part of Making Headline News’ advance coverage of Sarah Jakes Roberts’ inaugural Woman Evolve Conference September 14-16 from Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, Cole ironically said she deemed it essential to name her selected chapter, Back Up Ego, I Got This.
Why such an intriguing topic?
“I chose my chapter because I wanted it to be an intro or lead way to the full book,” Cole told MHN. “I use my life experiences to grow and become a better me. If I find a solution or helpful tool that works, I want to share it with others.”
In a nutshell, Cole emphasized, Back Up Ego I Got This strategically provides what she describes as “three negotiated methods and work-throughs,” each of which can be used daily to support one’s “relationship with a better self.”
Powered by Women’s History Month, according to Paige, the legwork for Seeing Myself In HER Story: A Sister Circle Of Stories To Connect, Heal, and Push Us Through commenced in January and took somewhere in the neighborhood of approximately six months to complete.
FIXIN’ HER SISTAS’ CROWNS
“It doesn’t matter where you are in life, Seeing Myself In HER Story offers inspiration to all readers,” said a spokesperson for Paige’s first anthology via Amazon.com. “The book greets every reader with testimonies that uplift, encourage, and act as a guide. From the trials and triumphs, to the transparent topics, the S.H.E. — She Has Experience — organization presents a book that is designed to help women continue a path of pushing through.

“The women in this book have been bonded and connected by sharing their truths, hearts, and stories of perseverance and were led in this effort by none-other-than CEO and Founder of Paige Group Inc., Tamika Paige.”
An anthology that will officially debut on Cole’s birthday (July 30), this Washington, D. C.-based author acknowledged the book is widely regarded as an initiative, in large part because it is meant to disrupt the readers thought process and it is an initiative to take action.
“I thought of the title first, then started writing notes and (has been doing) research since 2020,” Cole said. “The book was finished in 2023. What is available now is a synopsis-chapter, which is a teaser in the anthology book with Tamika Paige.”
Cole’s sophomore book adventure comes approximately three months after she witnessed her ceremonious authorship debut with the release of A New Kidney For Mom: Medical Tales For Small People, her solo-written book she said is “still selling very well” largely because of the demand for its readings at area schools.
WE HONOR YOU
When asked what divine message she aspires to send to her readers through her Seeing Myself In HER Story chapter, Cole said:
“My divine message is simple: Back Up Ego, I Got This,” she said. “The quality of your ego largely decides the quality of your life. I am living this initiative. The title of the book is a reminder it’s a mantra that can be used daily to support your relationship with a better self. That is what I want for myself, and I know that other people are looking for the same.”
Indeed, they are, as evidenced by the assortment of rave reviews Cole has fielded since word spread regarding her latest works as a rising author.
“I have received great feedback on this topic,” Cole said. “Readers that had an opportunity to read the book prior to launch mentioned it as an effective read, accurate and easy to understand the information.”
ABOUT HER FATHER’S BUSINESS
Having acquired a solid itinerary that will afford her golden opportunities to promote her published works, Cole announced that other books are on the horizon.
“I plan to create and deliver more self-help books in the near future,” Cole told MHN. “(Seeing Myself In HER Story) has inspired me to launch merch (merchandise). I have hats, shirts and hoodies with the trademark name, Back Up Ego, I Got This, for sale.
After all and much to her delight, it certainly has a compelling ring to it.
