But remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms His covenant, which he swore to your ancestors, as it is today. (Deuteronomy 8:18 NIV)
HOLDIN’ IT DOWN
DALLAS — Jennifer “Jay” Taylor can greatly attest to the notion of what it means to suffer losses.
Major, seemingly insurmountable losses, to put it more precisely.
Consider, for instance, what unfolded sometime ago, during which Taylor — now an accomplished Texas-based businesswoman — endured arguably the darkest season of her tenure as a rising entrepreneur.
“I lost $20,000 and had been taken advantage of by two major MLM (Multi-Level Marketing) tax companies,” Taylor told Making Headline News in its Annual Summer Special Report. “So I researched Google, read books, called vendors software providers, web designers, talk to brokers, learned everything and started my business.”
And the rest, as they say, was history.
And to her distinctly unique credit, it wasn’t long thereafter that Taylor had ultimately reinvented herself in this ever-evolving entrepreneurship industry, most notably as the co-founder and CEO for Xclusive Financial & Investment Group.

Suitably regarded as a virtual business in a traditional business setting, this venture has become a fixture for offering a wide range of consumers and business financial services, including — but aren’t limited to — tax preparation, funding assistance, credit resolution, life insurance, business formation and compliance, business startup, trademark, branding, and funding, among other entities.
“Essentially, we show families and business how to reduce debt, create growth, plan for retirement, set up college funds, and how to build wealth to create financial independence,” said Taylor, who’s chief responsibilities are centered largely on representing XFIGroup and PFS, meaning she customarily deals with asset management or, as she specifically acknowledged, “pretty much banking and finance.”
For Taylor, 43, a native of Memphis, it’s safe to assume she has found her fervent niche in her chosen profession, which spans some eight years. Most importantly, she said, she’s destined to ensure like-minded individuals never endure the turmoil she once faced as a young, thriving businesswoman.

“I want to give those who were taken advantage of by these companies a chance not only to make money, but to learn and grow their business,” Taylor said. “I want to not only help them make money, but I also want to teach them the business. Once I learned my craft, I realized that I was helping changing lives, helping people quit their jobs, buy homes buy new cars, increase their income, and start businesses. It made me happy. I was proud. And I’m a people person. I love to make people smile. I love to make people happy. I love to keep people joyful, so teaching and helping became my goal and exciting.”
A featured business endeavor that services individuals and group ranging in ages 25-to-65, Xclusive Financial & Investment Group has garnered agents in a variety of establishments around the country, including Illinois, Tennessee, Texas, Arkansas, Georgia and Oklahoma, just to name a few.
Moreover, that the Xclusive Financial & Investment Group is a rising virtual business endeavor, this company is committed to employing agents in all 50 states, Taylor said, “so I have traveled the entire southern and Midwest region and I’ve also been to Chicago the Dakotas, Indiana, Nebraska, a few of the other northern states as well. I will tell you southern hospitality is a real thing.”
Having launched her business venture in 2015, Taylor emphasized her strategic entrepreneurial mission is centered primarily on what she appropriately describes as “reach one in teach the rest.”
“My goal is to be the black Moses of finance,” Taylor told MHN. “I want to teach our community finance and generational wealth.”
Interestingly enough, Taylor credits her gallery of supporters for greatly empowering her to diligently pursue her lofty entrepreneurial goals and ambitions.
“My biggest inspiration is my husband, Shun Taylor,” Jennifer Taylor said. “He supports and pushes me to do everything, all things and, then other than that, my business inspiration is my coach, Joseph Ward. We are very aligned.”
Having been an entrepreneur for nearly two decades — “I had an adult intimacy,” she said — Taylor said she had become inspired to pursue a career in insurance after she partnered with Primerica, Inc. in 2015.
“My husband inspired me to as he always does with everything,” Taylor recalls. “He introduced me to my first RVP, and one of his coworkers who was in Primerica, Inc., and here we are.
Today, Taylor serves as a district leader and field trainer for Primerica, Inc., a globally-acclaimed company that has become a fixture for providing insurance, investment, and financial services to middle-income families, particularly throughout the United States and Canada.
Generally, Primerica has been described as a multi-level marketing company.
DESTINY STEPS
“Teaching our community about life insurance is a real challenge helping them understand why they need life insurance,” Taylor, who holds an Associate’s Degree in Business and Hotel Restaurant Management from Southwest Tennessee Community College and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Early Childhood from the University of Memphis, said. “But one thing I did was I began to teach them versus selling them, whether it was my product or another product.
“I taught them what was best for their situation. Some didn’t even know how to read their current policies, so I began teaching them about life insurance and their finances, reading over their policy and seeing what was best for their financial needs. This was my way of showing them. I’m not just trying to sell you. I’m actually trying to teach you. And that’s what helped me to gain trust for me in our community.”
An added plus to reaping sustained success in her chosen profession, Taylor said, is that she has worked in community service for as long as she can remember.
“Being a people person in customer service, it has been very easy for me to have a servant’s heart having,” Taylor said. “A servant’s heart is one of the things that you will need in this industry because you want to not only sell your client, you want to teach client. “You want to show them that you do care, and having a servant’s heart is one of the key things that keeps me wanting to help people. It was one of the ways that leveraged my career and gave me that position in the community.
“Business is hard, whether it’s life Insurance or food truck,” Taylor continued. “It’s hard. You’ll get those days where nobody showed up for your appointments. Everyone canceled, then you’ll get those big wins. Stay focused and stay persistent. Sales is a skill and a numbers game play the game. In the insurance industry, you must know all insurance products all of them.
HONORABLE MENTION
“Learn your product. Learn your competitors and teach your clients…not just see them, teach them. This is an amazing opportunity to learn your craft. With the opportunity, you can venture into other avenues of finance because they’re kind of all intertwined together, so it’s an amazing opportunity to grow yourself once you’re in it.”
Especially after one who has suffered losses.
Major, seemingly insurmountable losses, to put it more precisely.
Something to which can greatly attest all too well.
