We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves. (Romans 15:1/NKJV)
CHANGING A GENERATION
Given the nature of the subject, it’s safe to assume that Drs. James E. Combs Jr. and Phyllis D. Combs’ forthcoming book figures to emerge as a massive must read.
Not to mention a constant page turner, of sorts.
“Abuse has always been close to our hearts,” Dr. Phyllis Combs, during an interview this week with Making Headline News, explaining the rash of developments surrounding a book that is currently in the final production stages.
The book to which the Combs are alluding is Footprints Of Abuse, a highly-anticipated written work this Dayton, Ohio couple co-authored and one they sense will help enrich and impact lives for years to come.
One life at a time.

As part of Making Headline News’ national coverage of Sarah Jakes Roberts’ inaugural Woman Evolve Conference that took place September 14-16 from Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, the Combs went to great lengths to address what they collectively describe as the recent incidents pertaining to child abuse, specifically the loss of life hit home last year during which a father continuously molested, beat, and kept his male six-year-old captive in the attic.
“He died and the city was devastated,” Dr. James E. Combs Jr. told MHN. “Abuse with partners, spouses, and trafficking is very prevalent and it is affecting families daily.”
Added Dr. Phyllis D. Combs:
“We felt a need to inform parents, victims, and people who are in a cycle of abuse to get help. We also encourage family or friends to reach out for help and the people around them who suspect abuse to get help for the victims.”
To their credit, it didn’t take much time for the Combs to produce Footprints Of Abuse, having commenced to writing the book in April 2023 and recently sending it off to be published — in time for its ceremonious September 2023 release.
As for the divine message the Combs aspire to send through their new book, it is one that is rather simple, by their standards.
“(Our message) is to never give up,” Dr. Phyllis D. Combs said. “Reach out and talk to others and get help. Victims should always know that it’s not the end of the world because things can get better.”

Much to their light, the Combs have become the beneficiaries of high praises since word spread about their forthcoming collaborative published masterpiece.
“People have expressed great satisfaction with the topic and material that was covered,” Dr. James E. Combs Jr. said.
Said Dr. Phyllis D. Combs: “My faith in God has (prompted the Lord to) use us as vessels to write about the things that are touching the world today.”
Interestingly enough, the Combs have already fielded invitations to address the variety of pertinent subjects in Footprints Of Abuse.
“Two schools have extended invites,” Dr. James E. Combs Jr. told MHN.
As for Dr. Phyllis D. Combs, it seems she has found her fervent niche as accomplished, having composed seven books to date: Sisters, Why Am I Angry?, Ashley’s Journey: Navigating High School, Ashley’s Journey: Going to College, Ashley’s Journey: How Do I Get There, Ashley’s Journey: Who Can I Be?, and Ashley’s Journey: Who Am I?.
