“(It was sometime in) 2023 was when the first meeting happened when I sat down with Ricky Burchell Studios to discuss the idea of my book being turned in a script or movie,” Jordan Jr. the mastermind behind Know Your Worth, LLC, told MHN.
Named Making Headline News Man of The Year for consecutive years in 2020 and 2021, Jordan Jr. emphasized, among other things, the purpose for the Dating My Past showing in centered in large part on shining the figurative spotlight on the variety of complexities, particularly those we battle with self and our past when it comes to dating and looking for love.
“(This film aims at) showing us how we can sabotage our own happiness by not letting go of our own hurts,” said Jordan Jr., an award-winning author who is the architect of the books: The Power Within, A Woman’s Worth: From Both Sexes (published in July 2014) and The Dating Devotional: 30 Day Guide To Revamp Your Thoughts on Dating (which debuted in Summer 2023).
A riveting, fascinating show in which filming is scheduled to culminate by April 29, Jordan Jr. said his casting team is in the process of finalizing the dynamic cast that will make this film amazing.
Interestingly enough, the longtime radio personality said for nearly the past decade, he had been approached by a few agencies, many of which inquired about representing and/or negotiating the sale of the movie rights of his featured book, The Power Within, A Woman’s Worth: From Both Sexes.
“My thought process was simply, ‘Why not I be the one to own my movie rights and copyrights of book to film project and get a bigger piece of the deal with more control?’ Jordan Jr. recalls. “I had all the pieces to the puzzle in front of me and didn’t realize it.”
Now just days away from witnessing his highly-anticipated film come full circle, Jordan said he’d be remiss if he express gratitude to a solid supporting cast.
OWNING THE MOMENT
“I first and foremost give credit to God, Who gives me the strength to keep overstanding and pushing through all of the storms,” Jordan Jr., a native of Memphis, told MHN, adding that he and his team are currently working to get the film licensed and sold once the filming is complete. “I credit my wife for her continued support and belief in the vision and plans. Lastly, I credit my colleague and partner, Ricky Burchell of Ricky Burchell Studios, for the partnership and collaboration.”
