She is like the merchant ships, bringing her food from afar. She gets up while it is still night. She provides food for her family and portions for her female servants. She considers a field and buys it; out of her earnings she plants a vineyard. She sets about her work vigorously; her arms are strong for her tasks. (Proverbs 31:14-17/NIV)
BEST OF BOTH WORLDS
Deborah Juniper-Frye when asked recently to assess her journey that was 2023.
“Wow…2023 had been a year of great highs and valley lows,” Juniper-Frye, an accomplished author and philanthropist, recalls. “Even with that being said, God has blessed me greatly with being a part of several No. 1 best-sellers, ACHI Award Author of the Year, several magazine features, and so much more.”
Much to her delight, Juniper-Frye can add yet another notable accolade to what undoubtedly mostly was a memorable past year.
This esteemed Virginia Beach, Virginia-based certified Grief Recovery Method Specialist has been named Making Headline News’ International Women’s Day Woman of the Year for 2024.
SALUTING WOMEN WHO SHAPE OUR WORLD
Originally called the International Working Women’s Day, this day is celebrated annually on March 8 and customarily commemorates the movement for women’s rights.
According to https://www.internationalwomensday.com/, organizations and individuals around the world have collectively become committed to helping women and girls achieve their ambitions, challenge conscious and unconscious bias, as well as call for gender-balanced leadership and value women and men’s contributions equally.
In addition, this day was designed in part to create inclusive flexible cultures. From awareness-raising to concrete action, organizations rallied their people to pledge support to help forge gender parity on International Women’s Day and beyond, according to a spokesperson for IWD.
For Juniper-Frye, she is the second woman to ever be christened Making Headline News Woman of The Year and Making Headline News’ International Women’s Day Woman of the Year, joining Mitchellville, Maryland-based empowerment extraordinaire Dr. Jennifer Bryant, who accomplished such a feat last year.
Named Making Headline News Woman of The Year for 2021, Dr. Brant subsequently came away with MHN’s International Women’s Day Woman of the Year honors in 2023.
Prior to her latest honor, Juniper-Frye was named MHN Woman of The Year for 2022.

“My reaction was overwhelming and pushed me to tears,” Juniper-Frye said. “I went to bed with a heavy heart that night before, so when I received the news, it was like God telling me to be of good cheer and keep going.”
A beloved, well-respected author in her own right, Juniper-Frye earned widespread praise in Summer 2023 for spearheading her second anthology in as many years, Grief Through His Eyes Volume 2.
A riveting, fascinating book collaboration that debuted Father Day weekend, Juniper-Frye’s Grief Through His Eyes: Seeing Grief From His Point Of View Volume 2 would ultimately emerge as an Amazon Bestselling anthology, one that is accompanied by a variety of life-altering stories by her male counterparts.
GOD’S LEADING LADY
A longtime grief recovery specialist who is founder and CEO of Grief Care Consulting, LLC, Juniper-Frye’s featured business endeavor has become a fixture for assisting the brokenhearted, back over the bridge of grief, to some self-care, hope, coping skills, and assurance that they are never alone in their grief journey.
Generally, Juniper-Frye’s Grief Care Consulting services individuals and groups of all ages, she emphasized because, as she stressed, “Grief is no respecter of age, color, or ethnicity. Therefore, I am able to assist the multitude.”
“In all honesty, I tried to stay behind the shadow and overlook my skills and talents in this field for so many years,” Juniper-Frye told MHN during a May 2023 interview. “However, God kept my compassion and care for others on 100. What I like most about my business is my God-given power to walk along beside the brokenhearted until their grief turns into renewed joy and to show them that there is so much more life to live after a loss.”
