As if being christened with one nationally-acclaimed award wasn’t enough to turn heads, Dr. Rhonda Wood has added another prestigious honor to her remarkable philanthropy track resume.
The renowned Washington, D.C.-based international purpose coach recently was named a recipient for the Barack Obama 44th Presidential Legacy Lifetime Achievement Award in honor of Black History Month.
For Dr. Wood, this is her second presidential honor in a span of 15 months.
Suitably recognized as a Presidential Lifetime Achiever, Dr. Wood in December 2022 was named a recipient for the President Joseph R. Biden 2022 Lifetime Achievement Award at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas during an assembly that was spearheaded by the Trinity International Chapliancy Institute (T.I.U.A.) School of Business.

To her credit, Dr. Wood’s latest milestone comes amid her immeasurable body of work as a mental health advocate, coupled with her valiant contributions to society.
“I don’t take this honor lightly,” Dr. Wood told Making Headline News during its Women’s History Month national coverage. “The Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award is a distinguished honor bestowed only upon individuals who have achieved remarkable accomplishments despite facing significant obstacles. It is given to individuals who have dedicated their lives to advocating for the most vulnerable members of society and who have demonstrated bravery in driving change in their communities and across the globe. These individuals are trailblazers who inspire future generations.

“Being honored with a Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award is a significant achievement, but receiving the award more than once is an even greater accomplishment,” Dr. Wood continued. “It is difficult to estimate how many people have achieved this feat, but it is safe to assume that only a limited number of individuals have received the award multiple times. This recognition is a testament to my excellence and tireless efforts in the mental health community.”
Interestingly enough, becoming a two-time recipient of one of the most covenant presidential awards, Dr. Wood acknowledged, has been what she describes as “an immense privilege and a significant milestone in my life.”
“The prestige that comes with this honor has given me a sense of credibility and recognition within the speaking and coaching industry and has opened numerous doors of opportunity that she may not have had otherwise,” Dr. Wood told MHN. “The award has been a testament to years of hard work, dedication, and perseverance in my field. It has given me a renewed purpose and motivation to continue striving for excellence. I am extremely grateful for this recognition and will cherish it always.”
To her credit, Dr. Wood has established strong ties to the T.I.U.A. School of Business in recent years.
In December, Dr. Wood, for a third consecutive year, was named mistress of ceremonies for the TIUA School of Business Honors of Distinction Graduation and Awards Ceremony.
Making Headline News’ International Women’s Day Woman of the Year for 2023, Dr. Wood garnered high praise when she captivated audiences during Media Week at Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas, having interviewed a number of celebrities.
