Much to her delight, Dr. Cynthia Atkins can greatly attest to the notion that her kingdom contributions are not in vain.

Consider, for instance, the outpour of support Dr. Atkins fielded, particularly since word spread that she has emerged as a 2024 recipient for the Joseph R. Biden Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award.

“(People have told me this is) well-deserved and that ‘God has honored the work of your hands to the people…keep on doing what you do,’” Dr. Atkins told Making Headline News during a weekend interview. “(People have said to me) ‘You deserve this honor. God has rewarded you. This woman of God honors God by the way and work done for the people, she is a champion of God.’”

Indeed, she is — a champion who will be officially christened with her highly-anticipated honor during an official ceremony December 7 in Elizabeth, New Jersey.

Generally, The Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award is widely considered one of the highest honors presented to individuals who have overcome significant obstacles to achieve impressive accomplishments, thus dedicated their lives to advocating for the most vulnerable among humanity and acted with bravery to drive change in their communities — and across the world — while blazing trails for generations to come.

For Dr. Atkins, a devout woman of faith who has become a fixture to the Body of Christ throughout the years, her fervent rise to being named the beneficiary for a nationally-acclaimed award comes amid humble beginnings.

An honor she received in large part because of her notable community service contributions, Dr. Atkins emphasized, among other things, her latest achievement is testament to the notion that her labor was never in vain.

“(I am passionate about) meeting the needs of the people with the help of the Lord in Union County and the surrounding area with food, diapers, scholarships, awards to the achievements of women, assisted with transportation, rental assistance and utilities,” Dr. Atkins told MHN as part of its advance national coverage of Sarah Jakes Roberts’ Second Annual Woman Evolve Conference that takes place September 26-28 from Globe Life Field in Arlington.

Interestingly enough, Dr. Atkins relishes the notion that she’s on the brink of acquiring such a notable award in large because of immeasurable work to community service, most notably serving as an esteemed women’s advocate.

Widely regarded as a thought leader, pastor, public school commissioner, Dr. Atkins is an accomplished educator, author, speaker, and community advocate.

A devoted, well-respected social worker in her own right, Dr. Atkins serves as director of an area nonprofit organization and is an adjunct professor.
