Stop telling yourself you can fix him. He’s been this way for a long, long time and he doesn’t intend to change. Don’t be a sacrificial lamb on the altar of his rage. Don’t play the martyr to his hate. You can never save someone by letting them destroy you. That’s not love, it’s relational suicide. Save yourself instead. Get out while there is still time. — John Mark Green, Author, Storyteller, and Philanthropist
‘I’M A SURVIVOR’

Francisca Nunez undoubtedly counts it a massive blessing that she pressed and navigated her way through arguably the darkest season of her life, one that was mired by domestic violence.
“Since I survived, it became important to educate others who may be in a situation like I was or are presently in,” Nunez, 52, said of her past battle with violence domestic.
Today, Nunez, a Paterson, New Jersey-based philanthropist, has gone to great lengths to empower current and former domestic violence victims by way of No Longer Silent, her rising podcast that customarily shines the spotlight on one of society’s most dreaded, pressing topics.
Nunez’s No Longer Silent airs every Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. EST.
According to a recent data compiled by World Population Review, an estimated 10 million people in the United States experience domestic violence every year. Also, according to the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence, about 20 people per minute are physically abused by an intimate partner, while one in four women and one in nine men experience severe intimate partner physical violence, sexual violence, and/or partner stalking with injury, PTSD, contraction of STDS, etc.
SALUTING WOMEN WHO SHAPE OUR WORLD
Generally, domestic violence is a violent crime violence or abuse in a domestic setting, such as in cohabitation or marriage, according to World Population Review. In addition, domestic violence is often used as a synonym for intimate partner violence, which involves a spouse or intimate partner in an intimate partner relationship.
Also, according to the report, domestic violence can happen to anyone of any age and can occur in both heterosexual and same-sex relationships. In essence, domestic violence can also include violence against children, parents, or the elderly and can take on several forms, including physical, verbal, emotional, and sexual abuse.
As part of Making Headline News’ advance national coverage ahead of Sarah Jakes Roberts’ Third Annual Woman Evolve Conference July 31 through August 2 from Atlanta, Georgia, domestic violence survivor since 2008, Nunez said she deemed it necessary some five years ago to become an advocate for domestic in large part because of her slew of life-altering experiences.
“It’s my passion,” Nunez told MHN. “That’s why I became a domestic violence coach. Because I come with experience.”

A podcast that is geared toward individuals and groups ranging in ages 25-to-50, Nunez emphasized the No Longer Silent podcast is designed to inspire others to overcome and have hope again.
“(I want domestic violence survivors) to know that you can rebuild your life again,” Nunez, a native of Puerto Rico, said, adding that her platform caters to those under the age of 25.
An accomplished nurse who graduated from Felicia University, Nunez credits Darryl Harris — “my good friend of nine years” — for inspiring her to move forward with her credible podcast.
“He always opened the doors to his business for all my events,” Nunez said of Hines. “My vision is to help women, men and youth not to focus on their past trauma, but to overcome it…to educate them and to turn their pain into purpose.”
PRETTY WITH PURPOSE

In a nutshell, Nunez doesn’t shy away from the notion that her empowerment platform is essential in that it can help others rebuild their lives, all the while embracing the fact that it’s okay to start over.
“My motto is, said Nunez, “I don’t look like what I went through.”
Indeed, she doesn’t, given she undoubtedly counts it a massive blessing that she survived arguably the darkest season of her life.
