Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind, let each esteem others better than himself. Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others. (Philippians 2:3-4 NKJV)
LEAST SHE FORGETS

It’s safe to assume that Dr. LaQuita Parks has emerged as a military soldier in her own unique way.
Amongst the reason is this accomplished author this week announced she is on the brink of releasing Sworn To Duty: A Collection of Stories By Veterans, a remarkably compelling anthology that is the fourth of its kind as part of her Veterans Legacy Anthology Project series.
Powered by Dr. Parks’ Atlanta-based Pa-Pro-Vi Publishing, Sworn To Duty: A Collection of Stories By Veterans will make its ceremonious debut November 11, which is recognized annually as National Veterans Day.
Suitably labeled a collection of military experiences, Dr. Parks’ Sworn To Duty: A Collection of Stories By Veterans, she said, is a tribute to the men and women who answered the call to serve, made sacrifices that many will never fully understand, and returned home carrying stories that deserve to be heard.

Accompanied by the theme, “We Are the Legacy,” Parks doesn’t shy away from the notion that her collaborative book project “represents something I believe deeply,” she acknowledged.
“Our veterans are not simply part of American history,” Dr. Parks told MHN. “They are living history, and their stories are part of the legacy we have a responsibility to preserve.”
Dr. Parks’ Sworn To Duty is available for presale order and can be purchased via https://paprovipublishing.com/, Amazon, and where books are sold.
“What I love about this project is that the vision didn’t begin with a title or even a manuscript,” Dr. Parks said. “It began with a conversation.”
According to Dr. Parks, such a dialogue surfaced “several years ago,” during which she collaborated with U.S. Army Special Forces veteran Vaughn Ward on his personal book project.
“We began talking about the importance of preserving veterans’ stories,” Dr. Parks recalls. “During that conversation, Vaughn planted a seed that would eventually grow into something much larger than either of us could have imagined. I often say that God doesn’t always give us the entire vision at once. Sometimes, He gives us a seed and trusts us to nurture it.”
It wasn’t long thereafter that Dr. Parks’ collaboration with Ward had ultimately led to the highly-anticipated production of the initial Veterans Day-based anthology, Suited For Service, which was published in 2021.

Consequently, that awe-inspiring written work would eventually give way to what is currently known as the Veterans Legacy Anthology Project.
“Now, several years and four books later, I can look back and see how God was working through what initially seemed like an ordinary conversation,” Dr. Parks said. “Vaughn planted the seed, but God gave me the passion and determination to continue cultivating it. I remain incredibly grateful for his influence on this journey.”
And what an incredibly fascinating miliary-oriented journey it has become for Dr. Parks, a two-time Making Headline News Woman of The Year.
“Because Sworn To Duty will officially release (next week), readers have not yet had the opportunity to experience the completed book,” Dr. Parks said. “However, through the previous three Veterans Legacy anthologies, I have witnessed how meaningful it can be for veterans and their families to have these stories preserved. One of the most rewarding parts of this journey is seeing someone recognize that their story has value.”
GOD BLESS AMERICA

For some contributors, Dr. Parks acknowledged, writing about their experiences means revisiting memories they have carried for decades.
“For others, it is an opportunity to celebrate their service, honor those who served alongside them, and leave something tangible for their families,” Dr. Parks said. “As a publisher, I never take that trust lightly.”
When asked in what ways she believes her military book series align with the purpose for which God created her, Dr. Parks said:
“I believe God created me to help people recognize that their lives and their stories have purpose. When I found Pa-Pro-Vi Publishing in August 2020, I built the company around three powerful words: Pain. Progress. Victory. Those words are not simply part of a business name. They are part of my personal testimony.”
Appropriately and eloquently uttered by an accomplished, well-respected author, one who’s operating as a military soldier in her own unique way.
