“Every little girl watching tonight sees that this is a country of possibilities. And to the children of our country, regardless of your gender, our country has sent you a clear message: dream with ambition, lead with conviction, and see yourself in a way that others might not see you, simply because they’ve never seen it before. And we will applaud you every step of the way.” — Vice President-Elect Kamala Harris
HEALTH & HAPPINESS
DALLAS — To her distinctly unique credit, Dr. Jasel Martin has made some remarkably immeasurable strides over the past decade-and-a-half as an accomplished wellness coach.
“I love helping people,” Dr. Martin, during an interview this week with Making Headline News, said, explaining what she loves the most about her featured endeavor. “I am a natural helper and I believe it is one of my spiritual gifts.”
Much to her delight, Dr. Martin’s spiritual gifts have come full circle as the face of Dr. Jasel Martin Enterprises, her Washington DC-area hub of culturally relevant, evidence-based health and wellness information for all people.
“It is incredibly humbling to see just how powerful the human mind is,” Dr. Martin said of her thriving, progressive venture. “Seeing people transform and become empowered is one of the most rewarding things I have ever been a part of.”

Generally, Dr. Martin’s primary brand is her Sustainable Wellness Coaching Service, which customarily teaches people how to appropriate nutrition, fitness — “workouts included,” she added — sleep and stress management, mindfulness, behavior modification, and athletic performance, and other entities.
And, in the coming months, Dr. Martin will witness the much-anticipated release of her new line of cookbooks, the first of which is a plant-based published work that features soul-food recipes, she told MHN.
As Dr. Martin explained, her notable services are created to be what she describes as “culturally relevant,” in large part because most of her clients are minorities.
“(Therefore), I seek to address the needs of my clients first,” Dr. Martin emphasized.
A native of Dallas, Dr. Martin announced this week that pre-sale orders for her forthcoming book, The Keto-ish Cookbook Volume 1: Plant-Based Soul Food, can be submitted via Amazon during Black Friday weekend. The book, which is $29.99 at regular price, will sale for $19.99 during that time at https://drjaselmartin.mykajabi.com/ketoishcookbook.
Meanwhile, Dr. Martin’s new book will officially go on sale sometime in mid-to-late December, she told MHN.
Also, in December, Dr. Martin will launch a host of products and workout plans, most notably “The Booty Builder,” the “Arm Toner,” “Thick Thighs,” “Speed + Power,” “Fit & Fast,” “Lead + Ripped,” “Big and Strong,” and the “FUPA Killer.”
In addition, Dr. Martin’s 14-day Sugar Detox Challenge is currently underway at https://drjaselmartin.mykajabi.com/14daydetox, and other new programs and courses will launch in early 2021, she said.
“Additionally, I offer a meal planning service for individuals looking to create custom meal plans every week, month, day or however often they need to switch up their meal plans while still reaching their individual goals,” Dr. Martin said.
The George Washington University professor also hosts a podcast, “Heal The Public Collective,” which deals with pertinent issues impacting the health and wellbeing of black Americans.
This podcast can be found on all major podcast platforms, including Apple Podcasts, Amazon, and Spotify.
Generally, Dr. Martin’s products accommodate people and groups ranging in all ages 18 to 65, although her credible coaching practice typically attracts women between the ages of 35 to 60.
“My other products appeal to many other people,” she said, adding that her products and services are available nationally.
Armed with more than 17 years of experience in her selected profession, Dr. Martin has been afforded the golden opportunity to travel to variety of establishments across the country for speaking engagements and conferences, most notably Atlanta, Washington, DC, Chicago, Los Angeles, and Dallas, among others.
A graduate of nearby Mansfield High School, Dr. Martin earned a Bachelor of Science from Oakwood University, a Master of Business Administration from University of Phoenix (with an emphasis in Healthcare Administration and Human Resource Management), a Master of Science in Exercise Science from Georgia State University (with an emphasis in Health Education), and a Doctor of Public Health from Loma Linda University (with an emphasis in Heath Education & Nutrition).
Interestingly, Dr. Martin has garnered 14 fitness and nutrition certifications.
“I believe it is a part of my God-given purpose,” said of her profession as a health care executive and Health Equity Scholar professor at GWU. “It’s a seed in my heart and it is only quenched when I am fully operating in my purpose. Which is, helping others be their best selves.”
