But may the God of all grace, Who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you. (1 Peter 5:10 NKJV)
GRACE TO OVERCOME
Just after midday EST on Monday, Oralonda Cleaver’s first social media post was rather forthright and direct.
Said Cleaver before her gallery of Facebook followers: “Do you have this book yet?”
The book to which the gifted Charleston, South Carolina writer was alluding is Broken Innocence: An Inside Job, her featured, spiritually empowering written work that debut in April 2021.
Much to her delight, Cleaver’s highly-anticipated book has been as good as advertised, an awe-inspiring written document that figures to impact the Body of Christ for years to come.
“God gave me the vision to write a book so long ago,” Cleaver, a beloved and devout woman of faith, told Making Headline News during a recent interview, although she did not disclose a specific timeframe.

Truth be told, it doesn’t matter, really, when Cleaver had effectively captured the vision to compose Broken Innocence: An Inside Job. All that matters is that she steadfastly birthed her feature project out of an act of obedience unto God, all the while leaving the results to her Creator.
So far, so good for this brilliantly gifted author, whose deemed it essential to share of her rash of life-altering testimonies — the good, the bad, and the ugly, to put it more precisely.
A book that is comprised of 134 pages in length, Cleaver’s Broken Innocence: An Inside Job vividly depicts the life of a little girl who was raped and molested at a young age and, even though people knew, no one had her back at all, as mentioned in a detailed synopsis of this author’s book at Amazon.com.
“She should have went to her dad for help,” said an Amazon spokesperson for Cleaver’s Broken Innocence: An Inside Job. “He could have covered her with prayers because he was a preacher and knew the Almighty God. But he couldn’t because he was the one that violated her. He broke her innocence.”
As Cleaver explained, her latest book had to come to fruition, in large part because it aligns with the purpose for which she was created. Most importantly, this book, she acknowledged, is imperative for the pulling down of strongholds.
“I wrote the book so that people can gain strength and know that they can overcome sexual abuse and mental issues and everything that comes from sexual abuse,” Cleaver said.
Interestingly, Cleaver admittedly encountered her share of stumbling blocks, particularly during her book production’s infancy stages.
But God…
“I started the book several years back,” Cleaver recalls. “But I couldn’t go forward with completing it because of the anger and the unforgiveness that I still had deep down on the inside.”
To her credit, Cleaver’s Broken Innocence: An Inside Job had finally become a reality a few months ago with God, her Helper, steering the way.
“I just finished the book this year all because of God,” Cleaver said. “I allowed God to work on me and my inside issues.”
Because Cleavers submitted to the Lord and allowed His will to be done, she has subsequently impacted the lives of a numbers of individuals, many of whom share a similar story.
“The feedback that I’ve received from Broken Innocence has been amazing,” said Cleaver, whose itinerary includes a book signing at Zion Grove Baptist Church June 28-July 2. A lot of women have come forward about their abuser. Some say they gained more faith in God. Some feel they have the ability to be strong as well. With the help of Apostle Emily Shaw Drayton, who showed her love, taught, and never gave up on me, I was able to forgive and love myself to the point were I moved forward in writing Broken Innocence.”
Cleaver has announced that she’s currently producing a women’s devotional, a project she said is expected to be completed within a “month or less.”

As for her latest book, Cleaver said: “The purpose of this book is to encourage individuals that they can get through sexual, mental abuse and childhood trauma. This book is designed to) also to let people know they don’t have to be silent and be ashamed about the things they have been through, or the things that they may have going on right now, and (to know) that God loves them. And (to remind them that) self-love is important and also (to remind them that) it’s never their fault.”
