INJUSTICE (VOLUME 2) NATIONAL MEDIA COVERAGE: Virginia author Nairobi Brown chronicles mother’s life-altering experiences in highly-anticipated anthology

Andre Johnson February 17, 2024

And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. (Galatians 6:9/ESV)

JOINING THE MOVEMENT

FOUR AND COUNTING — Four-time Virginia published author Nairobi Brown is a co-author for Injustice Volume II: Empowered By Dr. Iris Wright, a highly-anticipated anthology that is currently in the production’s final stages and is scheduled to debut March 8, which is recognized annually as International Women’s Day.

Nairobi Brown vividly recalls the conversation she had with Dr. Iris Wright sometime last year.

For what it’s worth, such a dialogue changed the overall landscape of her life.

“We talked about my mother’s heartache that she endured and the injustice of her children getting taken from her,” Brown, during an interview this week with Making Headline News, said, recalling the memorable developments surrounding her latest authorship experience. “The conversation inspired me to want to be a part of the injustice movement by telling my mother’s story.”

The movement to which Brown is referring is Injustice Volume II: Empowered By Dr. Iris Wright, a highly-anticipated anthology that is currently in the production’s final stages and is scheduled to debut March 8, which is recognized annually as International Women’s Day.

A MASSIVE MUST READ — To her credit, Brown penned the chapter entitled, A Mother Silenced Forever, for Injustice Volume II, a segment that depicts her mother’s life-altering story, the New York City native told MHN as part of its advance national media coverage for Bishop T. D. Jakes 2024 International Leadership Summit from Dallas March 21-23.

The second edition of Injustice Volume comes a little less than one year after Dr. Wright’s debut volume of her collaborative book project.

An anthology that is comprised of six co-authors, the legwork for Injustice Volume II began in August, a book that is scheduled to be officially completed in the coming weeks.

Presales orders for Brown’s book are currently available and can be purchased by emailing her at nairobipoetry79@gmail.com.

For Brown, 2023 could be appropriately described as a banner year for the Chesapeake, Virginia-based writer, who managed to compose four books last year.

To her credit, Brown penned the chapter entitled, A Mother Silenced Forever, for Injustice Volume II, a segment that depicts her mother’s life-altering story, the New York City native told MHN as part of its advance national media coverage for Bishop T. D. Jakes 2024 International Leadership Summit from Dallas March 21-23.

“I began writing my chapter on June 26, 2023,” Brown recalls. “After the conversation Dr. Iris and I had, I finished that same day and started it.”

For Brown, joining Dr. Wright’s book collaboration is something to which she has fully embraced, given the favorable feedback she’s garnered since word spread of her latest authorship adventure.

“I have family and friends that are proud of me for being brave enough to be my mother’s voice,” Brown told MHN. “The message I am sending through my chapter is never stay silent to injustice and never be too afraid to fight back for what’s right.”

The CEO of Waliyah’s Dream nonprofit organization who also functions as a spoken word artist, a crafty baker, motivational speaker, and aspiring actress, Brown witnessed her authorship debut take off last year with the release of Her Darkness Grew Here, her featured written work in which she chronicles the events surrounding the death of her daughter, Waliyah Ayanah Tasliym Brown, who passed away at only 16 months.

“Her death was a tragedy, but her life was a beautiful story to be told,” Brown writes via Amazon.com. “She left a lasting impression on so many souls. May we never forget she was here.”

FOR STARTERS — Brown witnessed her authorship debut take off last year with the release of Her Darkness Grew Here, her featured written work in which she chronicles the events surrounding the death of her daughter, Waliyah Ayanah Tasliym Brown, who passed away at only 16 months.

Besides Her Darkness Grew Here, Brown in 2023 also graced the pages of the following books: A Journey Through Her Writings, Her Thoughts and Beauty In Words.

Both books are comprised of poems and affirmations.

“I am a spoken word artist, and I believe that words are powerful,” Brown said of her overall body of work as an author. “They paint pictures to allow people to view your experience. Words are my platform and I use them to help encourage, heal, inform, and spread love.”

BASKING IN THE GLORY

HOW IT ALL UNFOLDED — “(Dr. Wright and I) talked about my mother’s heartache that she endured and the injustice of her children getting taken from her,” Brown, during an interview this week with Making Headline News, said, recalling the memorable developments surrounding her latest authorship experience. “The conversation inspired me to want to be a part of the injustice movement by telling my mother’s story.”

Other books, Brown said, are forthcoming.

“I would like the world to know that I am a passionate spoken word artist and, as I said before, I use my words as my platform,” Brown told MHN. “My poet’s name is NairobiMVP Most Vigorous Poet — the Revolutionary Poet because the revolution will not be televised.”
